Choir - Digital Download SKU: A0.1059288 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship. Full Performance. Duration 155. David Warin Solomons #32941. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1059288). Score:https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/19982639?aff_id=175705Christmas Song for mixed choir (SATBB) performed by the Composer's Choir under Dan Shaw.  A jaunty melody with countermelodies with words telling of children playing their games in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to the angels and join their singing: See the children playing in the dusty alleyways all the buildings round them give no hint of the miracle which happened in a tiny stable just close by Sing Nowell The time has come The time is here For God has come To visit us in the form of a baby called Jesus See the children playing in the dusty alleyways They don't know the miracle happened in their very midst They don't see the angels hovering overhead They don't hear the angels singing singing praises They are playing their own games of mirth so carefree. [Soprano descant] The angels hover unseen over the stable singing their praises They are just like everyone engrossed in their own lives Never looking up to the sky where angels sing [Soprano descant] Sing Alleluia... and the children do not hear oh children you do not hear and the children do not know oh children you do not know the great and mighty wonder the full and blessèd cure Jesus is God incarnate Children hear! Rise now from the dusty streets and noisy alleyways Come and see the wonder which is come to you Leave your games and join the great celestial choir of angels Sing Nowell The time is here the Word has come to visit us in the form of a baby called Jesus We were children playing in the dusty alleyways Now we know the miracle which happened in our very midst [Soprano descant] the angels hover unseen over the stable singing their praises Sing Alleluia... O Children sing!.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314698 Composed by Richard Hirsch. Instructional. Educational Exercises. 8 pages. Richard Hirsch #903442. Published by Richard Hirsch (A0.1314698). Many amateur guitarists and beginning students of guitar are ‘stuck in the first position’. The rest of the fretboard is ‘terra incognita’. They don’t know where the notes are and they don’t know how to get to them and use them in playing melodies. To help remedy this situation, I offer a collection of scales and exercises I have developed over the years that have helped me master the fretboard of the guitar and that I have used to warm up my left and right hands before practicing or playing proper pieces. Guitarists afraid to move up the fretboard miss out on all the tonal nuances that the guitar has to offer. They also often have undeveloped left hand technique with a little finger that flies around helplessly and uselessly. These scales and exercises will, if played regularly, put the little finger to good use and guide the left hand to orient to the fretboard properly, staying close to the fretboard with fingers that move as little and as efficiently as possible. They are also relaxing and fun to play around with. I read somewhere a while back that medical science had found that pianists were less likely to develop brain diseases. The scientists attributed this to the many hours pianists spend playing scales, as this is like a gentle brain massage. So scales are not only good warm up exercises for the fingers but also good warm-ups for the brain. The scale exercises written here in the keys of G and C should be played in different keys in higher positions on the fretboard. Students can try to see just how far up the neck they can go to reach the highest notes. After a while, what seemed challenging and strange will start to feel comfortable and familiar. Don’t hesitate to develop new variants of the scales when you grow tired of playing them as I propose here. Have fun playing and playing with the scales! The exercises often start in one position and move toward other higher or lower positions on the fretboard. When moving from one position to another, follow the suggested fingerings to utilise what is called a lead finger to move the hand to the next position. This will make the movement smooth and not interrupt the flow of the scale. In the end all movement should look and feel seamless and effortless.I have chosen scales in major keys I think are particularly good to play on the guitar. To practice a scale in a minor key, start the exercise in the related major key from the fundamental of the minor key, for example, to play an E minor scale start the G major exercise on an E and play from there. This is one way of creating new variants of these scales. Another way to vary the exercises is to play the scales in different time signatures or rhythms.I believe these exercises are particularly helpful for amateur guitarists who play in ensembles of different kinds, duos, trios, quartets, where the guitarist often only has one melodic line to play. Such melodies often sound much better played in higher positions where the guitar can be made to sing, rather than in the first position where the same tones, especially on open strings, often sound rather dull. From my own experience, I find that when I play a melody in a higher position using all the fingers of the left hand, the melody not only sounds better, the fingers remember the melody better.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024938 Composed by Abigail Gilson. Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. Abigail Gilson #3631501. Published by Abigail Gilson (A0.1024938).          A Conversation is a duet that represents the feeling of falling in love. Starting off slow and daunting at first, with shifts and odd dynamics and rhythms as you just allow yourself to fall into this new feeling. Then, the piece takes off. With confusing chords, a ground bass but always a visible motet. The ground bass always sounds like it may rush, like any second the pianist could speed up and leave the other pianist behind but it never does. The voices often trade parts and dance back and forth. With the treble line taking off suddenly, ending the ground bass line. The last section has question chords, and unresolved lines as a relationship starts to lose the new lover buzz and falls into a steady rhythm. Some may feel that the relationship is ending, that the two pianos don’t sound the same as they used to together. But really the two pianos have found their music. They don’t need to experiment with different rhythms, keys, or time signatures. They know what sounds good together, they can continue to make music forever.

They are clearly taking positions with their points of views and there is an attempt to work things out. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205194 Composed by M.Y Owusu. Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. M.Y Owusu #803377. Published by M.Y Owusu (A0.1205194). Aphelion is one of my few pieces that's meant to tell a story and it's not incredibly specific, but here is the story of Aphelion. However, the definition of aphelion first is incredibly important.aphelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun.And it's very important to know the definition of its absolute antonym: perihelion.perihelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun. These are terms used in astronomy to describe a celestial object's extreme distance from the sun. I'm using this to describe a relationship between two people. The type of relationship does not matter, it is simply just a relationship. However, you perceive it: platonic, romantic, etc. That is up to your interpretation.Aphelion follows the story of two people, with the start of the piece not actually being the aphelion, but however the perihelion, starting in D Major. It highlights their relationship as perfect, well-rounded, and flawless relationship. Some may call it a honeymoon era/phase or just the possible closest two people could be, i.e the perihelion. Then the two slowly drift away, with a shift to B Minor and D Minor. Issues, flaws, and problems that weren't there before begin to appear. These issues are quickly shoved under the rug, and the two pretend that they are nonexistent. The piece shifts back to D major incredibly quickly, however, there is a slight sense of uneasiness within the piece that I intended to create as it goes through this relationship that is clearly rocky, but it isn't being addressed because neither are choosing to communicate these issues. Then, the mysterious part hits very quickly, this is the aphelion. following a D Minor chord progression, then a shift into D minor itself. This part is where the relationship issues reach a boiling point, neither can stand the other and any attempt to resolve the issues is essentially useless. They stay in a toxic relationship. However, it's labeled as mysterious because the future is an absolute mystery to the two. They don't know what will happen. Then, one confronts the other, they choose to genuinely communicate. It's where the shift back to D Major occurs. They finally come to an understanding. At this point, they can choose to stay in the relationship, and work on the issues, or come to an understanding that it might not work from here, because a relationship takes two. There is a sense of peace, they are finally at peace with one another and their situation. Life can continue moving on, and the piece ends on an A Major chord. This is because A Major can be interpreted as one finally becoming content. That is the story that I intended to tell by writing Aphelion.

Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811340 Composed by Daniel Light. Standards. Score. 3 pages. Daniel G. Light #6672259. Published by Daniel G. Light (A0.811340). Dreaming is an elementary-level piano solo that I teach to students once they can easily play five-finger scales. It’s built on a 5-note whole tone scale and uses the damper pedal throughout to give it a dreamy quality. My students who play this piece haven’t necessarily learned to read the notes above the treble staff yet, so I give them the image of the hand position to make sure they don’t get lost when they’re home practicing on their own.Students tend to use a combination of rote and reading when I have them learn this piece. It sounds harder than the pieces they typically play at this level, and they love that.Composed by Daniel Light, daniel-light.com.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890746 Composed by French Traditional. Arranged by Andrew Wainwright. Christmas. Score and parts. 69 pages. Andrew Wainwright #4888451. Published by Andrew Wainwright (A0.890746). A spectacular opener to any Christmas concert, based on the French carol, Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabella. This work tells the story of a group of children in medieval Provence, dressed up as shepherds and milkmaids, carrying torches and candles as they proceed to the stable. As they draw closer and their excitement increases, they are constantly reminded by their parents to keep the noise down so that they don't wake up the baby Jesus. The music begins quietly and builds to a majestic conclusion. If I were still conducting regularly, this would certainly be on my list as a Christmas concert opener - it sets the energy and mood most effectively. The scoring is terrific.
