One day, the instructor mentioned that Simon & Garfunkel had written a song called ‘For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her’ about a girl one of them had dreamed of but never met. The story resonated with me and, since this is the composition I was working on at the time, I chose to name it in honor of a girl I had dreamed of but never met.

You can modify the piece by substituting a guitar for the Piano1 right hand, and a flute for the Piano1 left hand, using Piano2 as melody and accompaniment. Bits and pieces of the melody constantly come in and out, with episodes of dissonance, in part and in full, throughout the piece, making it sound a little Bach like.
