This is the first in a set of twelve meditations for solo piano. This advanced composition (4:15) is a slow build, starting with a whisper but ending in an all-out roar. The composition is patterned around the chaconne, a form similar to the more familiar theme and variations. But instead of a melodic theme, the chaconne uses either a repeated bass line or chord progression to build upon.The first few iterations of this piece are rather simple, but by the last two iterations, the performer must make large leaps with both hands, playing dense chord clusters. By far, this piece took me the longest to learn to play, though the composition came to me quickly.

The Music It had been many years since I had written any country music. Soon after my mothers passing I was in the kitchen late one night when the chorus, both words and music, came to me. I quickly scribbled it onto a piece of scrap paper and then set it on my desk. A year later I went back to it and wrote thIS song. The music opens with tenors singing in three part harmony, (ie the chorus), acappella. This is followed by the A section which tells the story of my mothers life; the hardships, the joys, her faith and how God was guiding her. The A section then alternates with the chorus until a C section, bridge is introduced, which is a look ahead to her existence in the heavenly place. The music then returns to the A section which tells of her passing and how her faith became mine.

They would take the parts of the Narrator, the Owl, and the Pussycat. That would leave me with two words, the most important line in the poem, the Piggy-wig's line I will. Without this one line, the goal of the poem cannot be achieved - the marriage between the Owl and the Pussycat.Since this is a nonsense poem, the tempo and dynamic variations can be exaggerated to bring out the humor in the text. This setting is most ideal for an ensemble of soloists, but it could also be performed by an SAB choir with soloists for the parts of the Owl, the Pussycat, and the Piggy-wig. Happy singing!

Players may reach their posi ons freely in their own me but it is necessary to reach their places no later than bar 12. The func ons of the layers of material in this piece are o en changing roles slowly, allowing something that was a background texture to develop into something featured in the foreground, and vice versa. The transi ons between these roles are o en ambiguous, therefore keen a en on to dynamic balance is necessary to avoid the overall sound from becoming too clu ered or opaque. Balance voices mostly for transparency but allow material with notated accents, staccato marks or tenutos to stand out against the rest. Regarding rhythm, the exact tempo changes during accelerando or ritardando are not as important as a general feeling of surge and release. An inlet near Savannah, Georgia, Johnny Mercer's hometown, was named Moon River in honor of him and this song. Mozart composed part of the Requiem in Vienna in late 1791, but it was unfinished at his death on 5 December the same year. A completed version dated 1792 by Franz Xaver Süssmayr was delivered to Count Franz von Walsegg, who commissioned the piece for a requiem service on 14 February 1792 to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of his wife Anna at the age of 20 on 14 February 1791. This is my arrangement of No.5 Confutatis (From the accursed).It begins with a rhythmic and dynamic sequence of strong contrasts and surprising harmonic turns on tuba and horn the tenors and basses (Trumpets and trombone) burst into a forte vision of the infernal, on a dotted rhythm. The accompaniment then ceases , and trumpet 1 and tbn enter softly and sotto voce, (Voca me cum benedictis ()Call upon me with the blessed) with an arpeggiated accompaniment on horn and trumpet 2. Finally, in the following stanza (Oro supplex et acclinis), there is a striking modulation from G minor to Gb minor. This music suits the brass quintet. Section III of the requiem is titled “Sequenz� (sequentia or sequence). It is made up of the following pieces I have arrangements of all of them, for varying types of ensemble * Dies irae * Tuba mirum * Rex tremendae * Recordare * Confutatis * Lacrymosa.
