Ragtime music, traditionally played primarily on the piano, is a genre which enjoyed popularity in the early 20th century. It is characterised by a syncopated, or ragged rhythm in the melody, played over a steady bassline. Ragtime was preceded by its close relative, the cakewalk  – a similarly syncopated dance. This collection presents five such pieces arranged for ukulele and bass  some well-known, and some less so.
