Harp - Digital Download SKU: A0.912237 Composed by Thomas Moore, Robert Burns. Arranged by Harpoline. Celtic,Romantic Period. Score. 3 pages. Harpoline #6266445. Published by Harpoline (A0.912237). The last rose of summer was written by Thomas Moore to an existing Irish melody. O my love is like a red, red rose was written by Robert Burns to an existing Scottish melody. These two poets used existing melodies to add their own poetry and turn it into a song. Both songs are well known in the Celtic traditions and also fit well together. I used to play them in the key of C years ago, but on revisiting my old arrangements I preferred the key of F. There are no lever changes but there are plenty of full rolled chords. So an intermediate level of playing is required.I have added dynamics but they can be changed if you like. Both songs should not be played too fast. Metronome speeds are an indication only. Play with feeling!

Arranged by Robert Hoskins. Classical. Score. 130 pages. Artaria Editions #1062672. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1485607). The period 1760-1800 was the golden age of English comic opera. Each of the London playhouses – Covent Garden, Drury Lane and the Little Theatre in the Haymarket – employed a resident composer who wrote for plays, pantomimes, three-act mainpiece operas, and one or two-act afterpieces. Successful premieres were followed up with the publication of piano reductions to satisfy the insatiable home entertainment market. This volume includes overtures by all of the major figures of the period, including Dibdin, Arne, Arnold, Shield, Storace and Davy, whose opera What a blunder! provides the title for this fascinating anthology.
