String orchestra, with optional organ - Digital Download SKU: OX.9780193201880 'And Wept Bitterly'. Composed by Mack Wilberg. Score. 11 pages. Oxford University Press Digital #9780193201880. Published by Oxford University Press Digital (OX.9780193201880). ISBN 9780193201880.For string orchestra, with optional organ. This moving piece for string orchestra is full of pathos and emotion. Stylistically evocative of Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings and the distinctive musical language of Arvo Pärt, Lament is based around a two-bar arching ostinato, artfully developing musical fragments and enriching the texture to reach a powerful central climax. This is a welcome addition to the string orchestra repertory. This piece was recorded on the 2019 Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra CD Tree of Life under the title 'And Wept Bitterly (Lament on an Ostinato for String Orchestra)'.

SATB choir (choir divisi) and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.1.3594-E Composed by Kyle Pederson. Instrument part. 18 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3594-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3594-E). English. The Gospel of John. This work has the ethos of a spiritual, with the text inspired by Amazing Grace but not specifically using that text in sequence except for the title riff which reoccurs throughout the piece. It invites the singer and audience to consider the power of grace. The choir affirms that no trouble, no shame, no valley is too deep for the healing gift and power of soul-freeing grace. The music has a driving quality, with a piano part that is marked A little Blues, a little Rock, which rhythmically punctuates the piece. Unusual and energetic.

SATB chorus - Digital Download SKU: C7.CGE121 Composed by Ruth Morris Gray. General. Sing! Octavo. 16 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGE121. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGE121). UPC: 749193023846.This distinctive setting of the mournful scriptural text begins with an introspective, chant-like introduction that belies the fiery torrent of personal frustration and rage to come. With the incessant drum-like drubbing of octaves in the piano bolstering an equally accented choral outburst, the passionate pathos of sorrow expressed within the text is fully realized and understood. A beautiful legato section provides contrast before building anew, taking us to a dynamically intense finale. A stunning, dramatic showcase for concert or festival!

Flute,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548707 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Easter,Instructional,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411715. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548707). Out of the Depths I Cry to You by Martin Luther arranged for alto flute & piano. The first verses feature modified counterpoint and harmony proceeding at quarter = 82. The final verse is reharmonized for maximum dramatic effect at a more contemplative tempo such as quarter = 64. Very powerful selection for Lent or Easter. Duration (3 verses) 3:05, 36 ms.Score: 3 pg. Solo part: 1 pg. The piano reads from the score. Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics, essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed pieces, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.

My Mother had some sad news to give me. Dad was very ill. My whole life flashed before me. My parents were always 200% supportive of all my artistic endeavors. None of my success would have been possible but for my Dad and Mom. My memories of my Dad and my Mom flooded my mind like a deluge. When I heard the news about how gravely ill he was I thought to myself that so often we give thanks, honor, or show our love when it is too late. Who wants to be that person? I was finally in the unique position to show my gratitude and love to my parents in the most special way that I could - through music from my heart and soul. I got the courage to look deeply within and then I began to write what was to become the first and second songs, respectively Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings and Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation on my Tears from My Eyes: Songs from my Soul album. You will now be able to do just the same for your loved ones with this new music. Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. Your musicians will also hone their skills for subdividing and maintaining an inner beat that is in sync with your conducting because there is no percussion and the notes are freely flowing on and off the down beat yet not sounding heavily syncopated when performed. When will you know when you have achieved the right balance and flow of the music? You will know when, because you will hear it and feel it when it comes into place. But I can help you with all of this with what I have to offer you today. I share with you now the final and 5th movement to Tears from my Eyes - Onward and Upward (for String Orchestra). This particular was created and produced after the Songs from My Soul album was sent for distribution. So, this song has yet to be officially released. All five movements will be released as an album Mourning in the Rain. This 5th movement Onward and Upward has a decisive emotional resolution and conviction in its pathos. The dynamics reflect accordingly ranging from mf to fff indicative of overcoming adversity and grief. Imagine overcoming despair, rising out of grief and depression and finally seeing the light of day - to join the ranks of the living and re-embracing life once again.Contact info: Tito AbeledaVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecordsEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/titoabeledaTwitter:

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017073 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Eoin Buchanan. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 8 pages. 7plc Music #6079117. Published by 7plc Music (A0.1017073). Why this Prelude? On entering music college 45 years ago I was faced with having to learn the piano and not even knowing where middle C was situated...eek! Two years later I performed this Prelude. In this arrangement the left hand theme is taken by the Bass Tuba with the Tenor Tuba interlinking for some of the higher notes and to reinforce the pathos of the falling phrases towards the end of the piece. The right hand swaps around between horns and flugelhorn with high range of the horn being used to accentuated the minor feeling of the piece. Perhaps one performance note might be that players of the supporting instruments need to be very careful not to use too much hard tonguing!

Tenor voice or soprano voice solo, SATB choir, organ - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.6414-E Composed by Leo Nestor. Christmas, Christmas-Sacred. Score & instrument parts. 13 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #6414-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.6414-E). Sing Lullaby was commissioned by music director Michael Batcho for the Choir of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee and composed in California during the summer of 2000. Originally scored for tenor solo, mixed chorus, oboe, French horn and violoncello obbligato and organ, an independent fabric for string orchestra was composed for a performance by the Choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Christmas of the same year. The setting was further developed for the debut performance of The Catholic University of America Chamber Choir and Chamber Players at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in December of 2002. In the 2008 revision, the composer decided that the obbligato trio of clarinet, French horn and bassoon most clearly evoked the ethos of shepherds, offering optimal timbral contrast to string orchestra and chorus. Substantial emendations of the entire score were made for the present edition of Sing Lullaby, first performed by The Catholic University of America Chamber Choir, University Singers, University Chorus and Symphony Orchestra at the Annual Christmas Concert for Charity at Washington's Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on 7 December 2012 with tenor Rick Christman, the composer conducting.Variation form, long favored by composers in settings of strophic music, imparts a perception of improvisation as singers and players alter harmonies, melody and rhythm to forward the unfolding narrative. Sensitive performance will caress the natural undulation of the largely ternary meter, tapering unstressed beats at the ends of phrases while maintaining the steady flow of the accompaniment. Two editions of the work are published: (I) for mixed chorus, solo, obbligato trio and organ and (II) for mixed chorus, solo, obbligato trio, string orchestra, harp and organ. The edition for chorus and obbligato instruments adds timbral variety to a Christmas concert while employing modest instrumental means which are easily available. Although in Version II both harp and organ are scored ad libitum, the harp adds significantly to the counterpoint of the obbligato instruments, providing further rhythmic impetus and textural variety. Conceived for lyric tenor, the solo may also be sung by soprano.
