Honky-Tonk Rag has that old honky-tonk piano sound and is one of 6 pieces written in the traditional ragtime style of the great Scott Joplin. Using little or no RH double octave work, these rags were composed to help the intermediate level student gain confidence with the difficult stride bass technique. The bass must remain steady for the right hand syncopation to be effective. The given fingering works well but is a suggested one only and can be altered to suit the performer.

Intermediate/Grade 4-5 level.

I take this classic tune through 2 keys - C major and Db major. It is basically a stride piano version but the right hand owes a lot to ragtime too. It should be played with a nice swing rhythm ie tied triplets not straight quavers (eighth notes) and with a bit of a bounce!
I don't include fingering or dynamics of which no two piano teachers would agree on, so I leave this to the discretion of the player. I do include chord symbols which I always find most useful in learning a tune. 
Please note this is a piano solo and doesn't show the notation for the other instruments included on my youtube upload ie strings and bass. I write all my tunes to stand up as piano solos so it sounds perfect when played as a piano solo.
It's a lovely tune and I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did arranging it.

This is a fun arrangement of the Elton John classic in a sort of Stride/Ragtime piano style. For me, it works very well. Elton himself was well versed in honky tonk, pub piano styles and the chord progression is very accepting of this treatment. If some of the voicings ie 10ths are too large for your left hand simply play single bass notes or octaves instead, or feel free to roll the tenths. 
Please note this is a piano solo and I haven't notated any of the other instruments in my YouTube arrangement. I do, however, write my arrangements for solo piano first and they sound perfect as such. I don't include fingering, phrasing or dynamic marking as no two piano teachers will agree upon so I leave this trustingly to the individual performer. I do include chord symbols which I find more helpful in learning repertoire.
Have fun playing this. I did. I'm a big Elton John fan and this is one of my favourite numbers of his and it was a pleasure to notate it.

This song was written in 1939 by Noel Gay and Ralph Butler and popularised by Flanagan and Allen, the music hall duo. It was written for the Noel Gay show 'The Little Dog Laughed'. It's a fun song that apparently was one of Winston Churchill's favourites. So my arrangement is a tribute to Bud, Chesney and Winston!

My version features a left hand stride piano/ragtime style and goes through the keys of C and F major. There are lots of stride idioms and riffs in the right hand from the likes of Scott Joplin, Fats Waller and early jazz styles as well as popular pianists such as Russ Conway and Winnifred Attwell. If you have problems with the 10ths in the bass just play octaves or single bass notes instead or possibly 'rolling' or 'bouncing' them ie playing one note and jumping as quickly as possible to the next so as to play almost simultaneously.

I don't notate dynamics, fingering or pedalling and prefer to leave these to the discretion of the individual pianist as no two teachers ever agree on such matters.

A lively, square dance inspired ragtime piece using easy hand positions and primary triads. RH plays in a C Major 5 finger position throughout with the LH 'down-up' articulations using C, G and F Major chords. This piece is suitable for Grade 2 piano students and should be played in a happy, buoyant manner.

This is my version of the classic tune performed by Richard Clayderman the iconic French pianist. I have done a complete departure from the arrangement he plays and done it as a slightly up tempo stride piano/ragtime piece. It's such a good melody I think it survives this treatment very well and sounds kind of cool, though I say so myself!
I like to keep my arrangements as simple and easy to read as possible so I avoid pedal markings, dynamics and fingering all of which you'd struggle to find two piano teachers to agree on so  I leave them to the discretion of the individual pianist.
If the intervals of 10ths are too big for your hands, as is often the case, they can be 'rolled' or just play the root note in octaves or even single notes.
Please note I don't include notation for the other instruments on my YouTube recording it is simply a piano solo. It was written as a piano solo so it sounds perfect just like that.

This is a stride piano/ragtime version of the old vaudeville hit 'Yes We Have No Bananas' by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn. Most famously recorded by the perky Billy Jones. I have embellished it as much as I am able in a style of Fats Waller with a dashing of Scott Joplin. It's meant to be a humourous piece and is played better with a smile on one's face!
I always strive to keep my music as simple as possible to read and to that end don't include pedal markings, fingering or dynamics as I prefer to leave that to the individual pianist and no 2 piano teachers would ever agree on such things.
