Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1397433 By Dean Martin. By Luis Demetrio Traconis Molina, Norman Gimbel, and Pablo Beltran Ruiz. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Film/TV,Jazz,Latin,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #980759. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1397433). Sway is arranged in a bolero-mambo song style.  The song was written by Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz.  Beltrán recorded the song for the first time with his orchestra in 1953. Pedro Infante, for whom the song was written, recorded it in 1954.Norman Gimbel took the song, removed the somewhat melancholy Spanish lyrics about a man wondering if he shall ever love again, and wrote brand-new English lyrics about a man praising his dancing partner's ability to affect his heart with how she sways when they dance. This new song, titled Sway, has become a standard in the pop repertoire. The first version to achieve considerable success in the United States was recorded by singer Dean Martin with the Dick Stabile orchestra in 1954.This song is about dancing, and being infatuated with your dance partner - Martin sings that when they sway together on the dance floor she is all he sees.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.847962 By Simon And Garfunkel. By Traditional English Ballad. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Baroque,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Folk,Traditional. Score. 6 pages. Timothy Stapay #454662. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.847962). Scarborough Fair is a traditional English ballad. A famous version was recorded by Simon and Garfunkel. The lyrics of Scarborough Fair appear to have something in common with a Scottish ballad titled The Elfin Knight (Child Ballad #2, collected by Francis James Child, which has been traced as far back as 1670. In this ballad, an elf threatens to abduct a young woman to be his lover unless she can perform an impossible task (For thou must shape a sark to me / Without any cut or heme, quoth he); she responds with a list of tasks that he must first perform (I have an aiker of good ley-land / Which lyeth low by yon sea-strand). Dozens of versions existed by the end of the 18th century. A number of older versions refer to locations other than Scarborough Fair, including Wittingham Fair, Cape Ann, twixt Berwik and Lyne, etc. Many versions do not mention a place name and are often generically titled (The Lovers' Tasks, My Father Gave Me an Acre of Land. The references to the traditional English fair, Scarborough Fair and the refrain parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme date to 19th-century versions, and the refrain may have been borrowed from the ballad Riddles Wisely Expounded, which has a similar plot. O, where are you going? To Scarborough fair, Savoury sage, rosemary, and thyme; Remember me to a lass who lives there, For once she was a true love of mine. And tell her to make me a cambric shirt, Savoury sage, rosemary, and thyme, Without any seam or needlework, And then she shall be a true love of mine. And tell her to wash it in yonder dry well, Savoury sage, rosemary, and thyme, Where no water sprung, nor a drop of rain fell, And then she shall be a true love of mine..

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012646 Composed by Timothy Arliss OBrien. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 11 pages. Timothy Arliss OBrien #6130831. Published by Timothy Arliss OBrien (A0.1012646). This sad and wistful piano solo was composed during multiple depressions in my life. I wrote the second movement while I was 13. At the time I was dealing with aggressive bullying and tremendous anger. I wrote the first movement while I was in Highschool and found myself becoming the bully and my rage turned to sorry for myself. The third movement was written in the style of a funeral march my freshman year of college as I was being kicked out of a religious institution due to my sexuality. I have been perfecting these melodies over the years and it's so cathartic to premiere this piece. This dark and brooding piece was performed and recorded by the pianistEdward Cohen in October of 2020. www.EdwardCohen.co.uk
