This fanfare, however, is geared mostly toward  Woodwinds. The brass takes background and counter-melody, while woodwinds take melody.  There are, however, several sections where the brass takes the wheel! At the end, a standard brass chorale ends the composition, with woodwinds giving off the final ounce of melodic content. The fanfare is supposed to be as magnificent as the person who it is dedicated to.

The women, children and seniors left there fought as best they could, but finally realized that they had to give up. As a last resort, they carried the icon of Panayia (St. Mary, always referred to as all-holy in Greek), alongside the city walls, something that produced an unexpected effect: The besiegers left! For three days the citizens participated in liturgies addressed to Her, in a hymn called AKATHISTOS YMNOS (=Non-sitting Hymn), where this tropation is central, as it is most actively still used in the Greek Orthodox Church at many other relevant services. The first part is the original, in unison, or sung by a soloist.
