British composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor (1875-1912) published Four Novelletten for String Orchestra in 1903. The term novelletten apears to have been ï¬rst used in reference to music by Robert Schumann in 1838. The four movements, I Allegro moderato, II Larghetto, III Andante con motto, and IV Allegro molto are in effect four separate works, often performed as stand-alone pieces and published as such. With this publication, all four movements are published in a single volume with score and parts.
