Published by DoReMi Edition (A0.1048995). “暢想曲”（黃安倫的譯名）乃源於西樂體裁Rhapsody，一般譯作“狂想曲”。在這方面最著名的當推李斯特所作的《匈牙利狂想曲》和格什文之《籃色狂想曲》等。這種體裁的特點在於曲式自由，大量應用民間音樂材料和樂曲的炫技性，一般都注重強烈的音樂會效果。黃安倫迄今共作有十首《中國暢想曲》。他的這類作品也都是依就這種體裁的特點，而他所強調的則都是中國各地民間音樂的特性。這中間最常被演奏的，當屬《中國暢想曲第二號》，除了有多款CD面世外，更為中國青年鋼琴家郎朗贏得國際柴科夫斯基鋼琴比賽之第一名大獎。 《中國暢想曲第三號》乃是為薩克司獨奏而作，被題獻給作者摯友──號稱“薩克司之王”的加拿大獨奏家波爾‧博柔笛 Paul Brodie。此曲目前有四種版本以適合不同之伴奏，四種版本的演出均取得很好成績，均大獲成功。。它們是： a，鋼琴，此原始版本由波爾‧博柔笛1988年首演於加拿大的帕裡桑音樂節，樂譜已在美國出版，並由德國名家丹姆勒錄有CD；在中國的首演則由謝進岐同年在北京實現。 b，弦樂隊加打擊樂，已在1996年由波爾‧博柔笛與莫斯科俄羅斯愛樂樂團錄成CD； c，中樂團，乃是香港中樂團之委約作品，1994年由波爾‧博柔笛與台灣名家陳澄雄指揮首演後，北京郭雅志採用嗩吶擔任獨奏，於1995年創出一款全新的樣式； d，標準管弦樂團， 2011年在國家大劇院中國交響樂之春仍由郭雅志採用嗩吶擔任獨奏，姜金一指揮山西交響樂團首演。 《中國暢想曲第三號》在一九八八年作於加拿大。全曲分為五個段落，但作不間斷地演奏，在風格上雖然沒有照搬任何民歌，卻仍表現出塞北的地方特性，這顯然又和黃安倫大量“張家口口音”的作品一脈相承。 第一段是炫技性的華彩樂段Cadenza，薩克司在無伴奏的情況下詠吟出作者對塞北這片廣闊的土地之一片深情；樂隊在第二段始加入，並以挺拔、深沉的旋律與薩克司交相輝映，表現出塞北山地人豪放的氣派；土風舞的節奏導入了第三段，塞北人們樸實、堅強的性格得到樂觀的表現；一曲徐緩間奏將樂曲連接到其慢板的第四段，此刻獨奏者更換了他的中音薩克司，而用一支高音薩克司奏出夢幻般的悠長旋律；鑼鼓聲的闖入標誌著第五段的開始，西北吹打樂與河北吹歌的風格混合在一起，將樂曲推向歡騰的高潮。 博柔笛曾數出全曲之各種裝飾音多達數百，而這正是此作令外籍演奏家可以奏出純粹之中國風格的關鍵所在。 所附MP3為北京郭雅志獨奏.
