Choral Choir,Choral (TB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1346349 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by D. Jason Bishop. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Wedding. 9 pages. Tully Road Music #931172. Published by Tully Road Music (A0.1346349). Robert Schumann’s song cycle Myrthen was a wedding present to his wife Clara Wieck. Myrthen, or “myrtles,†were the flowers traditionally associated with a marriage celebration. Schumann completed the Myrthen cycle in 1840, totaling 26 Lieder (songs for solo voice and piano), with texts by prominent 19th-century German poets such as Heinrich Heine, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and others. “Widmung,†which means “Dedication,†is the first song in the cycle, based on a love poem by Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866). The frequent repetition of the word “you†in the text, along with the soaring melody and undulating arpeggios that comprise the music, all serve to convey the composer’s state of blissful fulfillment as he contemplates marrying his beloved. This arrangement preserves Schumann’s original piano part as well as places the melody prominently in the top tenor voice. The lower voices provide supporting harmonies informed by the accompaniment, moving largely in parallel motion, but with their own counter-melodic value. It was premiered by the Young People’s Chorus of Erie Young Men’s Ensemble at the 2012 World Choir Games. The arrangement is also available in a version for SSA voices.

Trumpet Quartet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1124470 Composed by Christian Petzold and Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 7 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #725217. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1124470). This easy arrangement for trumpet quartet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the period minuet form of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be freely played by beginning students due to the ease built into the piece in relation to the author's suggested interpretation. Recommended for performance in academic recitals, and public festivals, it also serves as a study of Baroque repertoire. This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1285993 By Paul M. Osborne. By Paul M. Osborne. Arranged by Paul M. Osborne. 21st Century,A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary,Sacred. 4 pages. Paul M Osborne #877116. Published by Paul M Osborne (A0.1285993). Te Lucis Ante Terminum is an arrangement of a Gregorian chant melody that is traditionally sung during Vespers. This arrangement slowly unfolds from a simple statement of the melody, to moments of swirling and furious drama. Appropriate for high school choirs and up, or cathedral choirs as a Vespers anthem, this work seeks to reveal the insisting and imploring nature of the Latin text. Voicing: SATB divisi, a cappellaPaul Osborne is a choral director, tenor soloist, and composer/arranger from California's Central Coast.  He received his degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he studied choral conducting with René Clausen.  He serves as Chorus Master for Opera San Luis Obispo and Central Coast Gilbert and Sullivan, is the founder and director of Resonance Vocal Ensemble, and is the former choral director at San Luis Obispo High School. He has been a passionate composer and arranger of choral music for over 20 years.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143117 Composed by Piano Sonata No. 9 Op. 68 Alexander Scriabin. Arranged by Blake P. McCabe. 20th Century,New Age. Score and parts. 43 pages. Blake P. McCabe #743479. Published by Blake P. McCabe (A0.1143117). This composition is an arrangement of Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 9 Op 68. This piece has traditionally been nicknamed The Black Mass and was written for piano. Scriabin himself accepted this nickname for the piece and earlier on wrote a piece that would be nicknamed The White Mass. The Black mass was completed in 1913, a mere 2 years before his untimely death. The piece is built upon his ‘mystic chord, a hexachord built on fourths. Scriabin described this chord of embodying the divine and having a smoky tonal color, stemming from his own perception of sound as color. This piece moves from haunting sounds in its first motif to a chilling climax, returning to a mysterious murmur, and moves through multiple tempos to drag the listener along its march through its gothic vision, until finally returning to its first motif and leaving the listener haunted by the dark, colorful visions it invokes. To date of publication of this arrangement, I have yet to find an arrangement of The Black Mass for orchestra, band, nor symphony. The piece has many layers within it and includes complex polyrhythms typical of his music. The dark uncurrent, along with the form and choice of lack of direct key signature pose a unique challenge in the arrangement of this piece. I have deigned to maintain the feel of the original piano version, including his choice of time signatures and rhythmic choices while bringing it to life through the sounds of a modified symphony orchestra. This arrangement relies on the timbres of the instrument families to portray the emotional colors of the piece and particularly highlights the woodwind section of the symphony orchestra, along with the angelic sounds of the harp. Percussion is added through timpani, xylophone, glockenspiel, and multi-percussion to heighten the emotional experience of the arrangement.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.997949 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Standards. 49 pages. Diego Marani #603649. Published by Diego Marani (A0.997949). Mozart composed the Divertimento, K. 136, during down-time in Salzburg in the winter of 1772, following two extended periods in Italy. This Divertimento is in three movements, fast-slow-fast after the manner of the Italian sinfonia. The opening Allegro, in sonata form, centers around a delightful, charming theme that ends with an amusing little dynamic retreat. The Andante is typically warm and elegant, its two halves contrasted by a brief acceleration in the accompaniment's pulse. A spirited Presto finale brings the Divertimento, a fine example of Mozart's ambitious work in a genre traditionally designated as light music, to a close. This arrangement for flute quartet (Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Flute 4 or Alto Flute) of the entire Divertimento is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1344114 Composed by John Joseph Woods. Arranged by Michael Thomas Coull. Contemporary,Patriotic. Score. 8 pages. MTC Publishing #929595. Published by MTC Publishing (A0.1344114). God Defend New Zealand - Arrangement for Voice, Piano and Guitar by Michael Thomas CoullGod Defend New Zealand was first performed in Dunedin's Queen's Theatre on Christmas Day, 1876.  Played by the Royal Artillery Band and sung by the Lydia Howard Burlesque and Opera Burle Troupe, the patriotic song found immediate favour with the Dunedin public.  The words, a poem written by Thomas Bracken in the 1870s, was first published in a competition run by The Saturday Advertiser and New Zealand Literary Miscellany.  The competition was to compose a 'National Air' based on five verses of Bracken's poem, and appeared in the Advertiser on 1 July, 1876 listing a grand prize of 10 guineas.  On 9 September the Advertiser reported that 12 completed entries had been received.  Several weeks later on the 21 October the winning entry by John Joseph Woods, a school teacher from Lawrence, was announced. The popularity of God Defend New Zealand grew throughout the 19th century and entered the 20th century as one of the most popular songs.  In 1935-39 with the help of John McDermott, chief engineer of the NZ Post Office, and others God Defend New Zealand was made New Zealand's national song in time for the 1940 Centennial celebrations. In 1976, almost 100 years after the first public performance, a petition calling for God Defend New Zealand to become the national anthem of New Zealand, organised in Dunedin by Gareth Henry Latta and others, was presented to the Petitions Committee of Parliament with 7750 signatures.  With the permission of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Government adopted God Defend New Zealand as the countries national anthem.Traditionally God Defend New Zealand is performed in G major, but as this can often be rather high for amateur voices, the anthem is also presented here in F major.

Euphonium,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1385698 Composed by James M. Guthrie. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Wedding. Score and part. 13 pages. Jmsgu3 #969635. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1385698). A concert solo or encore with piano accompaniment. A good encore is essential for a concert as it can be the show's highlight and leave a lasting impression on the audience. While encores were traditionally spontaneous, they have become a customary part of a concert's script, with performers often planning them. Encores allow artists to play fan favorites, respond to audience enthusiasm, and create a memorable conclusion to the show. They can also provide a break for the performers. However, some artists and concertgoers have disapproved of encores becoming a routine part of the show, as they can feel disingenuous when expected rather than spontaneous. Despite this, encores remain an expected and significant element of many live performances.
