Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.826776 Composed by Abraham Wood. Arranged by Ryan D. Neaveill. Classical,Folk,Instructional,Sacred,World. Octavo. 15 pages. Ryan Neaveill #2017989. Published by Ryan Neaveill (A0.826776). This is a marvelous piece from one of the United States’ earliest composers. How Beauteous Are Their Feet falls under the classification of fuging tune--a popular idiom in colonial New England in the late 18th century and used frequently by many early American composers including William Billings. Fuging tunes typically begin with all voices together in a homophonic hymn-like statement, followed by a section where each voice enters one after the other in an imitative manner similar to a fugue. Another striking characteristic of this genre is the use of open fifths, as well as the nontraditional use of parallel fifths. These features, in addition to the contrast between homophony and polyphony, give this style of music its unique flavor.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Instrumental Duet,Piano,Viola - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.909567 Arranged by Christopher A. Sforza. Children,Contemporary,Folk,Halloween,Standards. Score and parts. 7 pages. Christopher A. Sforza #3663513. Published by Christopher A. Sforza (A0.909567). Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is used by many beginners due to its simplicity and familiarity.  This arrangement keeps the melody unaltered in the first viola while heavily re-harmonizing and re-stylizing the second viola and piano parts.  This departure from traditionalism creates an arrangement that is mysterious and unexpected.  It is perfect for Halloween or any other occasion where you may want to add a little spook into your playing.  The arrangement allows the performers to play three different ways; as a solo with piano, two violas and piano, or as a viola duet without piano.Included is a set of piano scores and duet parts in both d minor and g minor as well as fingering suggestions.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.575837 Composed by Anonymous. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. David Warin Solomons #2028709. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.575837). Originally written for a Delian suite for various composers remembering Schoenberg back in 2006, I have now revised it and provided separate parts. The piece is atonal and satirically based on Twinkle twinkle little star by way of a supposed reaction from Pluto after it was relegated from planet to dwarf planet by astronomers here on earth. I wrote the following introduction for the Delian suite version: 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' (Jane Taylor's poem used for the tune to the French song Ah, vous dirai-je maman) is given an atonal treatment, for string quartet, in memory of the 'lost' planet of Pluto. Of course Pluto is still there, merely changed in the human taxonomy, which deems it to be no longer a planet. Similarly Twinkle, Twinkle is no longer a nursery rhyme but a strange atonal piece with memories of its past self moving towards an unknown space. It will be curious to know at which age a child recognises the twinkle-twinkle motif in this new, totally untraditional version. However, atonal though it is, it still appears to have some kind of 'home.'
