This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation. For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, this arrangement is playable by any 13-note, C to C chromatic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Ten Christmas Carols for 13-note Bells and Boomwhackers®Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers®    * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate)* use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church * these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministries

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891192 Composed by Medieval Latin, Gustav Holst. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3103591. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891192). In this Two-Part Treble voicing for developing boys voices and beginning harmony, Boys' Carol is a standard on Lessons and Carols services.Personent hodie is a Christmas carol originally published in the 1582 Finnish song book Piae Cantiones, a volume of 74 Medieval songs with Latin texts.  The text was likely re-written for the Feast of the Holy Innocents (December 28th) when young choristers and their boy bishop traditionally lead worship. This carol is still often associated with Holy Innocents' Day.  It became more prominent in England after being arranged for unison voices and orchestra in 1916 by Gustav Holst (1874–1934), where it is often used as a processional hymn in church and cathedral services.  Holst's version often forms part of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.  This version is Elizabeth Poston's 1965 Boys' Carol, which translates the first line of the text as Let the boys' cheerful noise/Sing today none but joys.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750927 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Brendan Elliget MAGA 537. Christmas. Score and parts. 41 pages. BJE Music #5009435. Published by BJE Music (A0.750927). I Saw Three Ships (Come Sailing In) is a traditional and popular Christmas carol from England. The earliest printed version of I Saw Three Ships is from the 17th century, possibly Derbyshire, and was also published by William Sandys in 1833. The lyrics mention the ships sailing into Bethlehem, but the nearest body of water is the Dead Sea about 20 miles (32 km) away. The reference to three ships is thought to originate in the three ships that bore the purported relics of the Biblical magi to Cologne Cathedral in the 12th century. Another possible reference is to Wenceslaus II, King of Bohemia, who bore a coat of arms Azure three galleys argent. Another suggestion is that the ships are actually the camels used by the Magi, as camels are frequently referred to as ships of the desert. [Wikipedia]  The bright arrangement is for full Concert Band.  The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer 3. Part of this arrangement was used in my Christmas Suite No. 1. (See associated scores) Grade = 4 Duration 1:50 mins
