In fact, there is an earlier version of the Allemande for a keyboard or stringed instrument. The Partita, originally in the key of A minor has been transposed down into D minor, putting it into a perfect range for Solo Trombone. The work is in four movements: Allemande, Corrente, Sarabande and Bourrée Anglaise. It is appropriate for advanced performers. Cherry Classics has acquired Ralph Sauer's earlier edition of the Bach Partita, BWV 1013 for Trombone Alone from Balquhidder Music. Mr. Sauer has taken this opportunity to update the transcription.
