The subtitle of this movement (“Marcia Funebre, sulla morte d'un Eroe�) translates to “Funeral March, relating to the death of a hero�, and was orchestrated by Beethoven for the incidental music to Johann Duncker's play “Leonore Prohaska� (WoO 96).
