Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,Wedding. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #773797. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1173650). Heroic Music - No.   2. La Grace - Georg Philipp Telemann - Brass Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728, and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve as a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public performances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpets, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students. This beautiful selection, Heroic Music - No.   2. La Grace, is arranged for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba, and is associated with the heroic quality of Grace. Included is a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). These selections are readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I am certain that these wonderful arrangements of Georg Philipp Telemann's Heroic Music will continue to entertain both performaers and audiences alike for years to come.

Piano,Tenor Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1502105 Composed by Keiko Takashima. Classical,Contest,Festival. Score and part. 27 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1077976. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1502105). THREE ANCIENT CAPITALS was originally written for Trombone Quartet Zipang in 2007. It was published just after its premiere in December of that year, and I am very glad that it has been played by a number of trombone quartets since then. Following its publication, a female trombonist uttered, “Although quartet is fun, it would be also enjoyable if it was played solo, wouldn’t it? “ and this brought the opportunity for this “solo trombone version” to be born. The whole work consists of three pieces. They were written based on my impression of each place when I visited them. 1. Kamakura: In the Hydrangea Temple I visited Meigetsu-in Temple, which is well-known as “Hydrangea Temple,” on a rainy day in June. There I saw colorful beautiful hydrangeas in full bloom, struck by gentle rain. The motif which is repeated many times in the piece represents each hydrangea. 2. Nara: Consecration of the Great Buddda Among the Great Buddhas all over, Rushana-butsu in Todai-ji Temple in Nara, which is 16 meters tall, is the most famous.I imagined the solemn scene of the Consecration Mass of Great Buddha. 3. Kyoto: The Golden Pavilion in the Sunset It was toward dusk when I visited the Rokuon-ji Temple, known as “Temple of Golden Pavilion,” which was built by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun in the Muromachi period. It shined like gold in the light reflected by the setting sun.It was fun for me to arrange the trombone quartet into solo trombone with piano, and I chose every single note carefully while building the relationship between the trombone and piano. I hope the audience will enjoy a different experience from the original quartet. I hope this work, born by Zipangu Quartet, will be loved by more people beyond the frame of its original setting. Performance Time: 12’00” PROFILE: Keiko Takashima Keiko Takashima was born in Takamatsu, Kagawa in 1962 and grew up mainly in Hiroshima. She began taking piano lessons at the age of four and enjoyed chorus as a club activity in junior and senior high school. She started learning harmony and composition theory while she was in high school and enrolled in the composition department at Tokyo University of the Arts of Music in 1982. After graduation, in the wake of providing new arrangements of CHANSON JAPONAISE (YUYAKE-KOYAKE) and FANTASIE (WARABE-UTA) as encore pieces for the Paris Trombone Quartet for their first tour to Japan, she has written many works for trombone. Her repertoire for trombone quartet includes PASSEPIED, MEMORIES, SQUARE DANCE, THREE ANCIENT CAPITALS, THE INTERSECTION OF CROSSING PATHS, SONG OF HOMETOWN, JAPANESE FOUR SEASONS, DOGWOOD PRAYER, and BEYOND THE SANDY HILL. She also wrote for solo trombone and piano: FANTASY ON ITSUKI LULLABY, which is included in Mr. Michel Becquet’s solo album, as well as BREEZE IN THE HEARTS - BLOOM IN THE WORLD, IN THE QUIET OF THE NIGHT, and HEAR THE SPRING CALLING. Her choral works are TOKI-SOBA (for mixed chorus) based on Japanese comic storytelling, LOVE IN KYOTO (suite for female chorus, lyrics by Madoka Mayuzumi), and FLOWER TIDING (lyrics by Urara Takahashi). PIANO RECITAL STORY, a suite for piano, is also on sale at PTNA Musse.jp (a music delivery service on the Internet).Ms. Takashima also wrote the fanfares for the opening and closing ceremonies at the National Sports Festival, held in Hiroshima in 1998. She is a regular member of the the Piano Teachers’ National Association of Japan.*The YouTube sample is a performance of oboe d'amore for reference of the music.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Organ,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844667 Composed by Jeno Hubay. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 4 pages. Phil Beaman #4897191. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844667). Maggiolata is the Italian name of an ancient Spring Festival celebrated on May 1st, hence the subtitle Song of May. Jeno Hubay, Head of the Violin Dept at the Budapest Academy of Music, wrote this piece to be as light and celebratory as a perfect spring day. My arrangement abridges and slightly simplifies this classical standard. I reduced it from 6 1/2 minutes to 2 1/2 minutes by focusing on the recapitulation of the main theme but also included opening and closing cadenzas. Most of the expression markings are my own additions. I have scored it as an Instrumental Solo with an Organ accompaniment but a Piano accompaniment could be easily adapted from this. This arrangement, with an octave and a half solo range, is easy enough to be accessible for most players and its beautiful melody will have you singing and longing for spring.  3 page score, 1 page part5:00 minutes with repeatrecording is Violin and piano version

Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Traditional. 12 pages. Cathy Stamegna #797045. Published by Cathy Stamegna (A0.1197869). Part 1 (Verses 1, 2) is rich with suspensions and leans more toward the traditional hymn.  A brief four-measure transition leads to a contrapuntal style in Part 2 (Verses 3, 4) with a change in rhythm (diminution) and melody.  Each section repeats with first and second endings, allowing the performers to shorten the length, if needed. Flute,Instrumental Duet,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1350499 Composed by Phil Beaman. Advent,Christmas,Early Music,Jazz,Renaissance. 4 pages. Phil Beaman #935311. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1350499). This jazz composition is based on the hauntingly beautiful 15th century medieval tune that is commonly used for the Advent carol O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.  I have reharmonized it with the accompaniment in a Key Signature a fifth above that of the melody.  The accompaniment, part 2, has a broken two chord ostinato throughout written as a walking bass line.  I have altered the melody, part 1, and moved much of it to the off beats.  As in period early music, I allow occassional dissonances in order to keep the ostinato.  This piece makes a wonderfully useful and unique addition to the season's repertoire.  (I have also published a version on this site with text so it can be sung by a soloist or unison choir with piano accompaniment.)  (Also as a piano solo.)range - part 1 melody - 10th, 3rd space C to high E; part 2 walking bass line, octave and a half, bass clef low A to D above middle C2 pages score, 1 page @ part,  2:05 minutes.

Piano,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844516 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3490489. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844516). In 1849 Robert Schumann completed a set of Romantic character pieces for piano which he named Forest Scenes. One of that set was called Roadside Inn, which I have arranged for Instrumental Solo with Piano Accompaniment. In keeping with the characteristics of the Romantic period my arrangement is full of contrasts and constant shifts between dynamics, articulations, and themes. I took themes and fragments of themes from the original and re-ordered them into a bit of a rondo form. There are interpretive marks in every measure making it a great piece for auditions to show your technique and interpretation. Not too difficult to play but sounds quite advanced when all details are observed. Another feature is the beautiful harmonic interplay between the solo and accompaniment. To be played warmly and with passion to welcome people to your Roadside Inn.  2 1/2 minutes, 5 page score, 2 page solo partTemporary MIDI recording; a live performance will be much more expressive and free
