So I’ve arranged twenty-nine favourite carols for beginner violin, with piano accompaniment. Each carol has the notes fully fingered, simple logical bowing, and is designed specifically for a beginner player. The Sicilienne is a binary-form miniature that sweeps along on a characteristic dotted rhythm, with a rather melancholy melody. Think old French ballet.
