Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.903781 Composed by Alan Edgar (music), Ann Liles (Lyricist, and from traditional story). 20th Century,Children. Score and parts. 151 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #6563893. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.903781). A story for children of all ages.  In 2001 flute magazine Pan had an appeal from Richard Stagg for more octotonic music, and at the same time I felt there was a dearth of good story-telling music for children. Pied Piper of Hamelin was composed for Hessle Sinfonia, who performed it twice with their principal flute, Michael Taylor as soloist and the lyricist Ann Liles narrating, under my baton. Richard Sleight was soloist in the Isle of Axholme Symphony Orchestra's later performance. Show off the versatility and beauty of the flute and entrance the audience (!).There are characteristic themes for the children, the river, the mountain, the pied piper and the rats, variously combined.

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.923891 Composed by Paul St-Amand. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Score and parts. 15 pages. BBQ Editions #3385417. Published by BBQ Editions (A0.923891). This chorale for brass quintet is a showcase for the 1st trumpeter, with several solo passages, and a soaring descant in the final passage. The piece is based on a line from Psalm 31, variously translated as Into your hands I commend my spirit or Father, I put my life in Your hands. The central musical theme is extrapolated from a basic melodic idea originally intended to be sung by a cantor. While it may be played year-round, In Your Hands makes an especially fitting selection during the Easter season. In Your Hands was composed by Bedford Brass Quintet trumpeter Paul St-Amand in memory of his father, Gerry. The piece was premiered at Harmony & Hope: A Concert for Cancer Research in 2015.Performance time is approx. 4:30.

Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987854 Composed by Robert M. Greenberg. 20th Century. 44 pages. Robert M. Greenberg #115419. Published by Robert M. Greenberg (A0.987854). Preferred Contact Information: RMonteverdi@comcast.net Performing Rights Organization: BMI Website: robertgreenbergmusic.com Facebook Band Page: facebook.com/RobertGreenbergMusic Duration: ca. 23 minutes Year of composition: 1999 Program Note: Quasi Un Madrigale sets the poetry of three 20th century Italian poets: Salvatore Quasimodo, Aldo Palazzeschi and Corrado Govoni. These expressive, evocative poems deal variously with states of memory, nostalgia, and longing. The four songs are conceived as a cycle. The first three songs are true duets, with the piano a full partner of the soprano. The fourth and final song, from which the cycle draws its name, constitutes the emotional core of the set. It is at once a resigned lament of personal loss and an affirmation of new life. Quasi Un Madrigale was composed between February and September 1985. All poems used with permission.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1176011 By Rebecca Oswald. By Rebecca Oswald. Contemporary,Instructional,New Age. Score. 6 pages. Rebecca Oswald #776137. Published by Rebecca Oswald (A0.1176011). Sheet music single for advanced solo piano. After the free, spacious opening, a constant, complex (3+4+3) meter takes over and continues hypnotically through to the end. Broad sections modulate, moving variously through major, minor, and exotic modal passages. Near the end, the right hand crosses to create several dramatic, dynamic moments. The piece ends with hands crossed for nine measures, both playing the complex meter's characteristic motive, and in contrary motion. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1262432 Composed by Ross Fiddes. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Classical. Score. 36 pages. Ross Fiddes #855473. Published by Ross Fiddes (A0.1262432). COLOURS – a song collection for mezzo-soprano & pianoLargely untrained, only basically educated and living most his life as a rural worker, Neilson became known as one of Australia's finest lyric poets, who wrote much about the natural world, and the beauty in it.  His poetry is peppered with references to colours particularly of the Australian landscape, notably green, yellow and orange.  There is an art gallery named for him and an art prize in his name requires competing artists to interpret his poems in paint.. His lyricism has appealed to many composers, and in this collection setting six of his poems, I have attempted to capture both his lyricism and his “colouringsâ€. The songs are dedicated variously to the superb mezzo-sopranos, Alessandra Volpe and Deborah Humble. The six song I have set for this Volume 1 are:1.      Paint Me A Petticoat Green2.      Roses Three3.      To Dulcie in a White Dress4.      You and Yellow Air5.      The Orange Tree6.      Song in the Yellow.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1441944 Composed by Anon. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 7 pages. Keith Terrett #1021937. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1441944). Romance Anonimo for Guitar. This beautiful piece, known as Romance d'Amour, Anonymous Romance, Spanish Romance, Romance de Amor, Romanza among other names are a very well know piece. The composer is unknown.Romance Anónimo (Anonymous Romance) is a piece for guitar, also known as Estudio en Mi de Rubira (Study in E by Rubira), Spanish Romance, Romance de España, Romance de Amor, Romance of the Guitar, Romanza and Romance d'Amour among other names. It is composed in the style of parlour music of the late 19th century in Spain or South America,History:The style of the piece is that of the parlour music of the late 19th century in Spain or South America. It has a closed three-part form, the first in the minor key and the second being in the major key, with the third part being a restatement of the first. The origins and authorship of the piece are unknown, hence 'anonimo'. It is thought to have been originally a solo instrumental guitar work from the 19th century, and has variously been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Francisco Vicaria l Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gómez, and Narciso Yepes. It has been suggested that doubts about its authorship may have been encouraged by a wish to avoid paying copyright fees and the desire of publishing companies to claim the lucrative copyright.Early recordings:The earliest recording of Romance is found on a cylinder from the Viuda de Aramburo label[3][4][5][6] featuring guitarists Luis and Simon Ramírez, which was made in Madrid sometime between 1897 and 1901. The work is titled Sort-Estudio para Guitarra por S. Ramirez. The name Sort, as it occurs on the cylinder's title, probably refers to Fernando Sor, as his surname is sometimes spelled Sort or Sorts. The recording may be heard on the Doremi CD release Tarrega, His Disciples, and Their Students (DHR-7996) and online at the UCSB Cylinder Audio Archive.Possible origins:An early publication of the work, known as Estudio para Guitarra de Rovira and attributed to Spanish guitarist Antonio Rubira,[13] was published by J.A. Medina e Hijo in Argentina before 1925 (probably in 1913, when the publisher ceased activities).Guitarist and composer Isaías Sávio (Montevideo, 1900 — São Paulo, 1977) published the work in 1959 with the title Romance de Amor (Estudo em Mi) Música de Antonio Rovira (Segunda metade do século XIX) He published information which cited Antonio Rubira as the author. (See Violào e Mestres Junio, 1966 / São Paulo, Brasil.Sávio gives information that Juan Pargas, who knew Rubira, gave the Estudio de Rovira to the guitarist Juan Valles in 1876 or 1878. Sávio mentions that the work became popular in Buenos Aires and began to be published by, among others, Spaniard Pedro Maza; and that the work appeared in the method of Pedro Mascaró y Reissig, published in Montevideo in 1919, with the title Conocido por Estudio de Rovira.Publishing company Ricordi of Argentina currently publishes the piece, and attributes authorship to Antonio Rubira.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148567 Composed by Music by Richard Milburn. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Country,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 27 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #748729. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1148567). Listen to the Mocking Bird was first published in 1855. The melody originated with Richard Milburn, a Philadelphia African-American who has been described variously as a panhandling busker and as a musically inclined barber. A songwriter and publisher by the name of Septimus Winner heard Milburn's tune, arranged it, added words, put it into print and claimed credit for its creation under the pseudonym Alice Hawthorne. Supposedly, Winner sold the rights to the song for five dollars. Listen to the Mocking Bird grew to be one of the most popular songs of the mid-19th century, a real hit. Its sheet music, by one estimate, sold more than 20 million copies. It was sung and performed particularly often during the Civil War, and troops used its melody as a marching tune. It remains somewhat of a standard and has been recorded numerous times, especially as a favorite of bluegrass musicians. In the lyrics, the singer is remembering his loved one. She has passed away but he recalls their good life together. They particularly enjoyed the call of the mocking bird, which even now is singing o'er her grave. This arrangement opens in E-flat major with Trumpet 1 introducing the sweetly sad melody, I'm dreaming now of Hally. After the introduction, the tempo picks up to allegro and whirls along. It does slow down several times, and there are four one-measure deviations from the 4/4 time signature: one 6/4, two 2/4s and one 1/4. At measure 65, the key changes to B-flat major for the finale. Trumpets 1 and 2 each play one A-above-their-staff eighth note as their highest pitch; the rest of the music stays well within the normal playing range of the five instruments. Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 23 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)
