Bastion Square March is named after the famous Bastion Square found in Victoria, B.C. Canada.  Research states that many of the buildings in Bastion Square were haunted by previous residents of the buildings in the area.  This composition is a typical march with First Violin parts ascending into third and fifth position.  However, whenever this happens in the part it is double by a lower First Violin part in case the upper part is a little too challenging.  The entire march ends with strains of Rule Brittania which I felt appropriate because Victoria is known in British Columbia, Canada as a little bit of England.

This arrangement of Victoria Monet’s “On My Mama� follows the key and form of the original track to make for an exciting live performance! These freestanding horn charts are on the moderate to difficult side of the scale for brass range meant to be played along with an existing rhythm section.

It was recorded and released that year by pop singer Andy Williams for his first Christmas album, The Andy Williams Christmas Album. The song is a celebration and description of activities associated with the Christmas season, focusing primarily on get-togethers between friends and families. Among the activities included in the song is the telling of scary ghost stories, a Victorian Christmas tradition that has mostly fallen into disuse, but survives in the seasonal popularity of numerous adaptations of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

This work is based upon the true story of the bud car that travelled from Victoria to Courtney on Vancouver Island.  In the score the chidlren
are busy not only  playing the music but also in creating train sounds and whistles.  This piece has been taken from my book The 
Scampering Scarecrow for violin, viola, and cello.  The arrangement comes with parts for piano and third violin as well.  In addition, the score
includes warmup scales and practise rhythm patterns taken from the piece.
