Originally composed for oboe and string orchestra, in a cantata, Bach later arranged it for keyboard and orchestra (BWV 1056). I wondered how it would sound like if Bach played it on solo violin. Using his style in the Andante of Sonata II (from 3 Sonatas and 3 Partitas for Solo Violin) (BWV1003), where a beautiful melody was accompanied on a solo violin, this is my interpretation of how this arioso would have been played on solo violin. It is technically challenging, but certainly rewarding to be able to play it.
