Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.829478 Composed by Lyndell Leatherman. Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 14 pages. Leatherman Music Services #6610333. Published by Leatherman Music Services (A0.829478). This choral piece based on Psalm 108 is written in the African-American Gospel style, and would work for high school, college, community, and church choirs. After starting with a slow recitative-like prologue, it quickly kicks into an energetic, exuberant paean of praise. This edition is voiced for S(S)ATB. To accommodate the many choirs who are short on men, you will also find on SMP an SSAB edition. As a reminder, there's a separate two-page electric bass part included at the end of the PDF, so when printing, you'll want to just make one copy of it, while printing however many of the first 12 pages needed for your choir.

Flute,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042377 Composed by Jamie Farrow. Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 12 pages. Jamie Farrow #647168. Published by Jamie Farrow (A0.1042377). This is a piece for flute and piano duo. Fastnet Rock, home to the Fastnet Lighthouse, is Ireland’s most southerly point situated in the Atlantic Ocean, famous for massive waves that engulf the island during storms. Three photographs (see below) and the lighthouse’s history were my inspiration for this duet, with the different images and ideas that they created, influencing my composition’s structure, themes and ideas at play. The piece starts at sunset and finishes at sunrise, with four sections each representing a different moment that follow a gradually developing structure through the first three sections before a gentle reprise of the ideas from Section 1 (S1) in Section 4 (S4). This gives a cyclicity to the piece, furthered by the tonal regions explored in each of the sections; Ebmaj to Amin to Bmin to Amin to Ebmaj. S1 invokes thoughts of the colours of sunset It is divided into four sub-sections, characterised by either solo flute or flute with piano, with each section exploring a different range of colours generated by their keys. Throughout, accidentals provide additional colour reminiscent of light diffracted during a sunset with the piano in the duo section voiced low in its range adding warmth explored through pivot chords. The flute plays in a very free recitative style, allowing the flautist individual expression emphasising the organicity of sunset as each performer will express this section differently. Section 2 (S2) and Section 3 (S3) are closely related, focusing on night-time through to sunrise in S4, with S2 providing the build up to the events of S3. In S2 the piano plays at the extremes of its range with widely spaced chords and no sense of beat, creating stillness and a sense of uneasiness through the constantly and irregularly beating A. The flute represents the rising storm and wind playing an organically-evolving motif beginning low in range, before gradually adding more notes and slowly rising, eventually reaching a dramatic climax which explores the extremities of its range whilst accelerating into S3. The drama and large gestures of S3 represent an Atlantic storm, a wall of oscillating sound through repeated piano ostinatos and constant use of the sustain pedal. Coupled with the frequently changing time-signature creating a sense of wild waves rolling in the ocean, the chordal bars percussively suggesting waves hitting the island. The flute captures the drama and emotion of the storm and the whistling wind, with long rising and falling gestures exploring the instrument’s very extremities. S4 brings the morning after the storm. We hear the same flute idea as in S1, this time played in the sadder Amin, communicating a sense of loss and despair following the storm. The piano emulates the now gently lapping waves against the rocks of Fastnet with the triplet motif in the bass. The right-hand of the piano plays a chordal accompaniment as in S1 but much slower, representing the slowly emerging colours of a sunrise which become richer and richer like the chords before the sunrise in the final few bars with a move into Ebmaj.

Small Ensemble Horn,Organ,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792548 Composed by Jeremy Niles Kempton. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 12 pages. Gordon Cherry #5008509. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792548). Chorale Fanfare opens with a stirring fanfare section. This is followed by the the composer's original chorale melody which is true in style to the traditional chorales of J.S. Bach and so many others of the reformation era. The chorale is presented in the organ, at first just the unadorned melody with each phrase adding more harmonic lines. Then it is richly voiced in four parts for the brass players.  The fanfare motifs return and build to a glorious conclusion. The 3-minute work is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and would sound wonderful in a large hall or church.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1213363 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Folk,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 12 pages. Mark R Lewis #810549. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1213363). What Wondrous Love Is This is an American folk hymn that became popular during the early 1800s. It was first published in 1811 in the various hymnbooks that came out during the Second Great Awakening with various lyricists credited. Many publications attributed the song's tune to The Ballad of Captain Kidd, a popular, though much older, song and tune at the time. Earlier versions of the text are slightly different, but as with many folk tunes, it is difficult to tell which transcriptions are regional variants and which are errors by the transcriber. This arrangement of the tune by Mark Lewis is for a cappella SATB Ensemble. All four voice parts are featured for a verse with different accompaniment each time. There are key changes to better place the melody in the ranges of each voice and there are moving notes in many background voices through most of the piece. As with many of Mark's arrangements, the outer voices will be pushed towards the extremes of their ranges even though the notes and rhythms are not incredibly difficult. Most intermediate choirs should enjoy performing this piece.

Voice and guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1537 Composed by Guillaume de Machaut. Arranged by Dusan Bogdanovic. Score. 12 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1537. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1537). Regarded as the most significant French composer and poet of the 14th century, Guillaume de Machaut was the central figure of the ars nova style in late medieval music. The three vocal pieces included in this collection are two rondeaux Ma fin est mon commencement, Rose, liz, printemps, verdure along with the motet Je suis aussi com cils qui est ravis. An additional curiosity, the iconic rondeau Ma fin est mon commencement (My end is my beginning) has a very intricate form built on palindromic form; while one voice reads the line from left to right, the other uses the same line in the opposite direction. Both voices meet in the middle of the piece, thus creating a mirror-symmetric form. While maintaining the principal upper part vocal, my arrangement relegates the two additional voices to the guitar.

Choral Choir,Choral,TBB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1415652 By Christopher Alexander. By Christopher Alexander. A Cappella,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Religious,Sacred. 12 pages. Christopher Alexander #997369. Published by Christopher Alexander (A0.1415652). Combining the Latin texts from the Ordinarium Missae and Psalm 30, this setting for unaccompanied chorus creates a sanctuary for the voices.  Beginning with cascading figures, the lyrical voice-leading allows the work to optimize its traditional harmonies and simplistic chordal progressions for the singers to easily blend.  The Illumina section becomes the crux of the work accented by a key change and supportive lines from all voices, including divisi in the lowest voice.  Perfect for festival and general concerts - can also be used in worship services.
