Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1408122 By Damien Gauci. By Damien Gaucio. Contemporary,New Age. Full Performance. Duration 184. Damien Gauci #990692. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1408122). This is my second piece that I have wrote for piano and in general. The reason I chose the name Yesterday's Future is basically because I wanted to write a piece where it portrays moving on from something happening in you life. If I were to write it again, I would probably change up the melody a bit halfway through to make it more interesting, but nonetheless, I am pretty happy with it.As the theme continues throughout the whole the piece, changing very subtly, it resembles something you need to let go of. At the end of the piece with the held right hand and moving left hand, I wanted to make that part sound like it is moving on with the dynamics changing to resemble anger and relief. Anyway, thanks again for listening, hope you enjoyed it and there is much more to come!

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1204372 By Kathleen Ryan. By Kathleen Ryan. Classical,New Age. Score. 7 pages. Indigo Mesa Music LLC #802852. Published by Indigo Mesa Music LLC (A0.1204372). As composed and performed by Kathleen Ryan on her CD Under the Greenwood Tree.Kathleen's notes: When we were building our home, my husband had a big goal of not making it possible for birds to nest on the house or over the porches. (Our rental home had barn swallow nests at both the front and back doors, and it was just too messy.)But the second spring after we moved in, some Say’s phoebes showed up and wanted to nest on the house; and my husband totally fell in love with them and built them a special platform — the phoebe condo. We had 5 fledglings that year! The next spring the phoebes returned! More nests, more fledglings, more joy. When I wanted music that was lively in a gentle way, and just completely happy, I naturally thought of the phoebes. Listen for the phoebe call in the middle section.Late intermediate.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869351 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 81 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #15869. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869351). Instrumentation: 3232-4331-timp-2perc-strings. When I received the invitation from Jonathan Cohler to write a Concerto for Orchestra for the Brockton Symphony, I immediately thought of all the composers who wrote works inspired by Bartok’s seminal work of the same title: Roger Sessions, Elliott Carter, Michael Tippett, Witold Lutoslawski, Joan Tower and, most recently, Jennifer Higdon. My Concerto for Orchestra, opus 111, is in five movements. It will be heard without pause between movements. I. Largo … Misterioso! II. Allegro con moto … Evidence!!! III. Adagio … Epistrophy! IV. Andante … In Walked Bud! V. Presto … Rhythm-a-ning!!! My initial idea for the Concerto was contrast - contrast between the timbres and colors that the various sections in an orchestra provide. For example, the woodwinds would provide a sharp contrast against the brass; the percussion section against the strings, etc. I also was interested in writing a work where each movement would flow into the next without pause – thus providing another form of contrast, that of tempi and mood change. A third form of contrast would be the different styles and forms of music that I would come up with. And I had a lot of fun conjuring up the many possible scenarios and orchestral tableaux. I actually started with the second movement: the Allegro con moto. I wanted something that had a nice surging quality that the whole orchestra could jump into. When I finished that, I thought perhaps it would be too intense for the opening of the work. I thought, maybe I should begin with something slower, more brooding in nature before the explosive stuff. I noticed that Carter’s Concerto began with a slow Introduction. It had a title: Misterioso. Being an avid fan of Thelonious Monk, aka Thelonious Sphere Monk, Misterioso brought to mind a Monk composition of the same title. That epiphany gave me the idea of naming each of the five movements after a Monk tune. Monk’s Misterioso is a blues with an insistent theme of 8th note patterns of rising 6ths; which has nothing to do with my first movement. My Misterioso features a solo for the bass clarinet in the midst of a shimmering atmosphere that is punctuated by accents in the bass. They are both mysterious, but divergently opposed in mood and substance. Monk’s Evidence is a tune with jabs and punches, irregularly placed within the measure – not unlike what I did in the second movement. This movement is perhaps the most Monk-ish of all. Monk’s Epistrophy is a tune constructed with a four-note pattern that is angular and twisted. I wrote a solemn brass choir movement that is an epistle in nature, a sermon of sorts. The title of Monk’s In Walked Bud refers, of course, to the amazing pianist Bud Powell. I took the word walk and translated it into an andante. What resulted was a silly, but jolly movement featuring the woodwinds. I wanted to end the work with a fast and furious finale. Inspired by the word rhythm in Monk’s Rhythm-a-ning, I began the last movement with a solo for the percussion section – timpani, tom-toms, bass drum!!! The orchestra eventually joins in the mayhem, breaking into a scherzo-like frenzy. It ends with a big bang!!! Enjoy!!!Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/concerto-for-orchestra-opus-111-2005

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1041503 Composed by Gabrielle Felicita Chen. Contest,Festival,Folk,Holiday,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score. 9 pages. Gabrielle Felicita Chen #646246. Published by Gabrielle Felicita Chen (A0.1041503). “L’amore di Kebo Iwa†simply means ‘the Love of Kebo Iwa’ , which is inspired from Indonesian Balinese folk music. It is usually played by the instruments called Gamelan. Bali is an island in Indonesia rich with cultural traditions that are very much rooted in myths and legends. After understanding deeper of the legend of “Kebo Iwaâ€, I was so drawn to the character and the plot that I decided to tell the story in my piano composition. I was able to use different kinds of musical techniques to express different moods. One of them is to apply the Pentatonic ‘Balinese Pelog’ Scale in B flat Major, which represents the majority of the Gamelan sound that is usually transcribed into Western notations. Below is the synopsis the “L’amore di Kebo Iwaâ€. A Once upon a time, in Bali, there was a husband and a wife who dearly wanted to have a baby. They prayed to God for a very long time. Finally, God heard their prayers and blessed them with a baby boy. But there was something special about this baby boy: he was very big- a giant baby. They named him Kebo Iwa. Kebo Iwa grew up with a good heart and became a gentleman. He was a kind hearted giant; he protected the village dearly. One day, the King of Majapahit from Java wanted to conquer Bali. He had heard about Kebo Iwa and knew that his army would lose to Kebo Iwa. B Therefore, the King of Majapahit tricked Kebo Iwa. He invited Kebo Iwa to Java island, promising that he would arrange a wedding for Kebo Iwa to marry his daughter, the beautiful Majapahit princess. Kebo Iwa was so in love with the princess, so he happily travelled to Java island. C After he arrived in Java, the King of Majapahit asked a favour from Kebo Iwa to dig a well, with the reason for it being the dry season. Kebo Iwa then sincerely gave some help and started digging a big, giant well. D However, the King Majapahit never meant to deliver his promise to Kebo Iwa. Instead, the King Majapahit commanded the troops to cover the well with mud and boulders. But when Kebo Iwa realized, it was too late. He was already in the position that was far too deep below - at the bottom of the well. Kebo Iwa then cried loudly and sadly with a broken heart until his last breath. He was buried alive. Soon after that, the Majapahit troops attacked and conquered Bali. E At last, the well was covered and grew a hill of flowers. To this day, the Bali villagers still remember Kebo Iwa as their hero. To honor him, they erected a giant statue of Kebo Iwa in Gianyar, Bali, as a memorial.

B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1365280 Composed by Tyler Moore. 21st Century,Classical. Score and part. 4 pages. TM Music #949589. Published by TM Music (A0.1365280). 'Journey Home' is a fun piece that contains both a sense of longing to return and an excitement to traverse forward. This work is intended for young players to work on both lyrical and technical playing. I wanted to write something for my own students as the repertoire for young musicians does not always contain contrasting material in such a short work. I also wanted it to include differing meters while still maintaining a friendly melody that can be recognized throughout the whole piece. While it is only about 2 minutes at the tempos indicated, it still has a plethera of phrases that can be crafted to the musicians own taste while still having some guidance for decision making. The tempos are flexible- whether you want to take the intro slower or the 3/4 section faster, I hope you make it your own!

Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549597 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 16 pages. Jmsgu3 #3512825. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549597). Duration: 2:30, score: 8 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A well-known favorite masterpiece suitable for a recital or school program. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Swan Lake Op. 20 Tchaikovsky composed Swan Lake in 1875-76. To begin with, most noteworthy the ballet failed to attract a positive reception. Over time, however, the ballet became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet was certainly first performed by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.
