Large Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Clarinet,Euphonium,Flute,Marimba,Oboe,Timpani,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1031139 Composed by Jeremiah Fuller. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 20 pages. Incroyable Music #2956721. Published by Incroyable Music (A0.1031139).  It is a great honor to be able to present this song to you. This song was made during a time that my best friend was going through some tough times. I tried to capture his emotions and express them in this song.  You will hear sounds as a group of sailors set out to sea for an adventure, but are faced with a storm on the way. Everyone ends up okay and get to return home safe.  I wanted to let him know that everything would be okay, even in the storm he was facing.  So, I decided to express it in this song. This song is approx. 2:15 In measures 37-39, although unmarked, there is an optional timpani roll or you may skip these three measures.

Contrabassoon,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548727 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Easter,Instructional,Standards. Score and individual part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411773. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548727). Out of the Depths I Cry to You by Martin Luther. First verses feature modified counterpoint and harmony proceeding at quarter = 82. The final verse is reharmonized for maximum dramatic effect at a more contemplative tempo such as quarter = 64. Features the entire range of the instrument. Very powerful selection for Lent or Easter. Duration (3 verses) 3:05, 36 ms. Score: 3 pg. Solo part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics which are essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed compositions, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.

Instrumental Duet,Piano B-Flat Clarinet,Cello,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284511 Composed by Spiritual. Arranged by Maria Thompson Corley. 21st Century,Chamber,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. 9 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #875686. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.1284511). “Crossing Jordan†grew out of my daughter Kiana’s surprise request that I arrange a spiritual for voice, piano and cello for her senior recital. She received a degree in commercial music the year before COVID shut everything down, at a time before climate change made blizzards an anomaly here in Central PA. As a result, snow days still existed. I spent one of them doing the first draft of “Deep River,†her favorite.Later, I decided that if singers engage a cellist for a concert, they might like to program more than one piece for them, so I chose two more water-themed spirituals to complete the set. “His Name So Sweet†is a more meditative version of the song than I’ve generally heard. I wanted the piano, cello, and briefly the voice to imitate the fountain in the text. The mood is ecstasy, resulting from the fundamental change that baptism is meant to create. “Deep River†also includes “Michael Row The Boat Ashore†and “The Water Is Wide.†The latter isn’t a spiritual, however, taken together the message is that the river is deep, the water is wide, but with (the Archangel?) Michael’s help, Jordan can be crossed. “Wade in the Water†is one of the most well-known spirituals. I focus on the idea of escaping enslavement: the opening is quiet, furtive, maybe even nervous. The Moses in the text can be understood to be Harriet Tubman, who might urge escapees to wade in the water so pursuing dogs couldn’t follow their scent. In my mind, the ending symbolizes that the party has vanished, never to be enslaved again. The first instrumental version of “Deep River†was for trumpet and piano, performed by my sister, Alicia Thompson, and her son, Justin Griffin, during a church service in Atlanta shortly after I arranged it. After hearing a recording, I took borrowed her idea of adding a repeat (which she did to allow enough time for the ushers to take up collection). The clarinet, cello and piano version was premiered by the Isosceles Trio (Doris Hall-Gulati (clarinet), Sara Male (cello), and me (piano)).

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1460309 Composed by Darío Estrella. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Jazz,Multicultural,World. Score. 108 pages. Editorial Copistas Acuario #1039240. Published by Editorial Copistas Acuario (A0.1460309). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 2012, there was a lot of talk about the Mayan calendar and an interpretation that caused a great impact worldwide for its fatalistic omens. However, I understood that these Mayan Prophecies, beyond preaching destruction, enunciated the beginning of a new world, one that all of us must build. I was inspired by the theme and decided to write 31 compositions, one for each day of the month of December —a practice I have maintained ever since, this past December being my 11th consecutive year. Now, in 2024, the team of the Fundacio?n Copistas Acuario —chaired by my friend and disciple Samuel Beethoven,— honors me with the next edition of piano compositions, after having also published my book “A ti Estudiante” in 2019. Each of the pieces presents a distinct and different proposal. Each title is allusive to the corresponding day according to the almanacs and often in connection with numerology. It is an interesting book to study and expand the repertoire, but above all it seeks to raise the interpretative capacity. I have always tried to send a message of life through my music, and in this work I also wanted to express the fascination and amazement that this ancient and mysterious people cause me. It is said that this people disappeared, given they claimed to come from the stars, specifically from the Pleiades; perhaps they returned to their cosmic origin in the same way they came. Let us, then, also be embarked in this fascinating musical journey that we present to you today!

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.935512 Composed by Kazys DaugÄ—la. 20th Century,Contemporary,Patriotic,World. Score and parts. 123 pages. Kazys Daugela #6709227. Published by Kazys Daugela (A0.935512). The Young Oak March was composed by Lithuanian composer Kazys DaugÄ—la (b. 1960) in 1989 for the first international festival Trimitas held in the city of Vilnius. The spirit of the march reflects the hopeful mood of the long-depressed people of Lithuania. The melody near the midpoint is taken from the Lithuanian folk song The Young Oak Grew in the Forest, which is with 3/4 and 2/2 meters, but as for marching everything goes symmetrically. In this context the young oak refers to a young man whose mother wanted him to be a ploughman, not a soldier. But as the text continues, if you haven't been a soldier, you can't be a good ploughman. The Young Oak - a popular patriotic march in Lithuania composed during the Lithuanian revival. It is often performed by military bands during Lithuanian statehood celebrations and festivals. This march was involved in the world march encyclopedia March Music Notes and Program Notes for Band by Norman E. Smith (GIA Publications, Inc. Chicago)

Trombone Quartet Bass Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1418868 Composed by Lori Archer Sutherland. Chamber,Contemporary,Jazz. 25 pages. Lori Archer Sutherland #1000353. Published by Lori Archer Sutherland (A0.1418868). â??(Re)Grooveâ? began as a compositional exercise exploring the use of an ostinato. I had fun with my original piano version and have since wanted to expand the piece into something more. I wasnâ??t sure how or when that would happen. When the opportunity arose to write a piece for the Chimera Consort, a trombone quartet, I knew this would be the place to expand my ostinato project. And so â??(Re)Grooveâ? was born. While the original ostinato forms the basis for the piece, I added more thematic material and structure. The title reflects the recycled nature of the piece. Fittingly, â??Reâ? also happens to be the symbol for Rhenium, which is â??... a silvery-gray, heavy, third-row transition metal in group 7 of the periodic tableâ? (Wikipiedia). While I have indicated some effects (i.e. scoops, falls), the performers may view those as improvisational and adapt them as desired.

Published by David McKeown (A0.593846). Part of Your World is one of the best loved songs from the 1989 Disney film The Little Mermaid. This version is arranged as a solo for Alto Saxophone with chord symbols for piano or guitar accompaniment in concert pitch. Written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken and sung by Jodi Benson, Disney executives initially wanted to drop the song from the film thinking it would bore young children. However the song’s positive reception at test screenings convinced them to change their minds. Part of Your World was an instant hit on the film’s release and has been one fo the most popular songs in the Disney canon ever since. Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances. Total performance time is around three minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach expressive playing. Click on the YouTube link above to listen to a full performance of this arrangement played on Clarinet.
