Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156458 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 7 pages. Brian Streckfus #756776. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1156458). IMPORTANT NOTE: You get both tablature version and sheet music version in one 7 page PDF! Hopefully this makes these arrangements all-inclusive for different purposes and skill levels. Also the tab version is meant for Drop D tuning and the sheet music is for standard tuning! Just be careful with your printer settings if you don't want two versions!1. Impressionism French minimalist piece arranged for guitar in Drop D Tuning.2. The composer indications in text are not my recommendations, but the original composer's. 2. Guitar tablature added with circles for half notes and whole notes.3. Measures and time signatures removed to reflect the ethos of the original composer. 4. Engraved to fit on four pages. Many of the lines themselves represent a musical phrase, making my arrangement that much easier to perform musically.  5. Courtesy accidentals added but they just look like regular accidentals. I did this especially because the piece is one gigantic measure and accidental etiquette is hard to follow under those circumstances. 6. Some overly contrived ties removed. This one is a real challenge to engrave because the original composer didn't have bar lines or time signatures. Cool idea but that can cause even the best sheet music programs to glitch out a bit when you have 16/4 hidden time signatures! This especially causes problems with accidentals, and it also causes rhythm problems when multiple voices are happening. As always, I like to try to have notes with upward stems represent the main voice, and downward stems to represent background voices, even though this leads to a bit of messiness with stem collisions. Normally the sheet music shows the rhythm the best, but dare I say the tab actually keeps track of time pretty well since all the voices are condensed into one rhythm line.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.736270 Composed by Mitch Leigh. Arranged by Phyllis Avidan Louke. Film/TV,Pop. 12 pages. Louke Publishing #3489035. Published by Louke Publishing (A0.736270). 2018 Chamber Music Contest EntryThe Impossible Dream from Man of La ManchaProgram Notes Low Flute Ensemble The Impossible Dream (The Quest) is the most popular song from the 1965 Broadway musical Man of La Mancha and is also featured in the 1972 film of the same name.  The song was composed by Mitch Leigh, with lyrics written by Joe Darion.  It was awarded the Contemporary Classics Award from the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. This arrangement for Low Flute Ensemble can be performed with as few as 5 players or a full flute choir with multiple players on a part.  It is scored for 3 alto flutes, 2 bass flutes, and optional contrabass flute.  I have always found the lyrics of The Impossible Dream extremely moving: To dream the impossible dream, To fight the unbeatable foe, To bear with unbearable sorrow, To run where the brave dare not go. To right the unrightable wrong, To love pure and chaste from afar, To try when your arms are too weary, To reach the unreachable star. This is my quest, To follow that star No matter how hopeless, No matter how far. To fight for the right Without question or pause, To be willing to march Into hell for a heavenly cause. And I know if I'll only be true To this glorious quest That my heart will be peaceful and calm When I'm laid to my rest. And the world will be better for this, That one man scorned and covered with scars Still strove with his last ounce of courage. To fight the unbeatable foe. To reach the unreachable star. Choral Choir,Choral (TB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1346467 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by D. Jason Bishop. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. 8 pages. Tully Road Music #931253. Published by Tully Road Music (A0.1346467). Die Forelle (D. 550, Op. 32) is among Schubert’s early contributions to the genre of the Lied, a 19th-century German art song for solo voice and piano. Schubert composed over 600 Lieder, and although many of them became popular, Die Forelle was – and still is – one of the most widely recognized and performed. Composed in 1817, Die Forelle takes its text from a 1783 poem of the same name by Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart. In it, a casual observer stands on the banks of a tranquil stream, admiring the movements of a “frisky†fish as it darts below the surface. The tone of the music changes when, to the observer’s horror, a fisherman puts an end to both his and the trout’s merriment by snagging the fish on his hook and reeling him in. In a final stanza which Schubert omits from his setting, we learn that Schubart’s poem is actually a metaphorical story intended to warn young women against the trickery of their young male suitors. As in Gretchen am Spinnrade and many other Lieder, Schubert “characterizes†the piano accompaniment, in this case through both the upward-winding sixteenth-note triplets representing the wriggling movements of a fish, and the abrupt shift towards agitated rhythms in measure 33 when the fish is hooked. The song gained such swift popularity that only two years after its composition in 1817, Schubert was commissioned to write an instrumental chamber work incorporating music from Die Forelle. The result was his Trout Quintet of 1819 (Piano Quintet in A Major, D. 667), the fourth movement of which is a set of variations on the Die Forelle tune. This arrangement is also available for 3-part treble (SSA) voices published by Hal Leonard Corporation, 10500871.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533586 Composed by Carson Cooman. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and part. 15 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3029125. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533586). Polpis Dreaming (2005) for contrabassoon and piano is dedicated to Henry Skolnick. The title refers to Polpis, a region of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts that borders Nantucket Harbor with a variety of smaller inlets. This work is one of a variety of pieces connected to the landscape of Nantucket. In the case of this piece, the extra-musical image was one of the incredible depth of the ocean (perhaps parallel to the depth of the contrabassoon's sound) slowly being explored/achieved through the means of inlets. The work's basic material comes from the contrabassoon's opening gesture, which moves upward from the bottom of the instrument. The pitch material and interval content that are transformed throughout the work are presented in that motion. The first section of the work is declamatory, with lyric impulses. The material of the work is unfolded as the sounds of the piano's resonance, combined with the tone of the contrabassoon are explored. A faster middle section occurs next in which the harmonic gestures and transformations are always moving towards greater consonance. After the middle section, thereis a return to the mood of the opening, although the material of the middle section also appears in transformation.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.948762 By Howard Goodall. By Howard Goodall. Arranged by Warren J. Wernick. Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. Warren J Wernick #5713803. Published by Warren J Wernick (A0.948762). Blackadder is a series of four BBC One pseudohistorical British sitcoms, plus several one-off installments, which originally aired from 1983–1989. All television episodes starred Rowan Atkinson as the antihero Edmund Blackadder and Tony Robinson as Blackadder's dogsbody, Baldrick. Each series was set in a different historical period, with the two protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in one series or another, e.g., Melchett (Stephen Fry) and Lord Flashheart (Rik Mayall). The theme song is composed by Howard Goodall, an English composer of musicals, choral music and music for television. He also presents music-based programs for television and radio, for which he has won many awards. In May 2008, he was named as a presenter and Composer-in-Residence with the UK radio channel Classic FM. In May 2009, he was named Composer of the Year at the Classic BRIT Awards. Goodall said of the Theme, They asked me if I would have a go at the tune. With all of these things, although I do come up with my own ideas, you don't really come up with a good one unless you talk it through with them and the vision they've got. It was quite obvious, the historical approach they were going for. What's interesting is that the first series, the medieval one with 'Richard the Fourth', was much more filmic and much more historical. That's why we ended up with that tune. Whereas had the first series been the Elizabethan one, the theme would have been slightly gentler, less heroic. .

Violin, viola and piano - Digital Download SKU: OX.9780193203464 Composed by Rebecca Clarke. Score. 25 pages. Oxford University Press Digital #9780193203464. Published by Oxford University Press Digital (OX.9780193203464). ISBN 9780193203464.A duo concertante for violin, viola and piano. This work was written around 1940, placing it near the beginning of a series of Clarke's late compositions. It both looks forward to her lean, linear, avowedly modern conceptions and backwards to works which are explicit homages to ancient styles, forms, and composers. A strain from the gypsy-rondo of Brahms's Piano Quartet Op. 25 echoes throughout the opening pages and is heard again in the piece's remarkable conclusion.
