Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.856241 By Sister Sledge. By Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers. Arranged by Liz Garnett. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Liz Garnett #5197047. Published by Liz Garnett (A0.856241). This arrangement of Sister Sledge's classic disco anthem of togetherness was created for Venus Effect, the first recipients of the Jen Mills award, which funds a quartet to commission a new arrangement in memory of Jen, a LABBS judge, coach and arranger who passed away far too young. I had helped Jen in her early years as an arranger, and she in turn had been Venus Effect's first coach, so we wanted this inaugural arrangement in her name to be a celebration of the bonds of love forged within singing organisations such as LABBS.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.850756 Composed by Zilphia Horton. Arranged by Spike Maiden Müller. Patriotic. Score and parts. 5 pages. Spike Maiden Mueller #6087481. Published by Spike Maiden Mueller (A0.850756). A gospel song which became a protest song and the signal anthem of the civil rights movement, We Shall Overcome is commonly believed to be lyrically descended from I'll Overcome Some Day, a hymn by Charles Albert Tindley. The modern version was first contributed to the People's Songs Bulletin by Zilphia Horton, who said she had learned it from tobacco workers organizer Lucille Simmons in 1945. It became associated with the civil rights movement in 1959 when Guy Carawan and Pete Seeger began using their version at the Highlander Folk School in Tennessee. Within a year, it had spread across the south, becoming the unofficial anthem of the civil rights movement.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1001705 Arranged by Beth Syverson. A Cappella,Christian,Folk,Instructional,Spiritual. Octavo. 11 pages. Beth Syverson #6253813. Published by Beth Syverson (A0.1001705). This is a 10-minute long piece that traces the history of the song We Shall Overcome, using narration and excerpts of ten versions of the song to educate about injustice and inspire hope. Its history is traced from its probable roots in slavery, to a Methodist hymn, through Pete Seeger, the Freedom Singers, and Joan Baez, and all the way to the present day. The piece ends with the performers and audience/congregation singing through the piece one last time, a capella, organically improvising harmonies. There are several opportunities for short solos, and one short a capella quartet section. .

Guitar,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.632748 By Queen. By Freddie Mercury. Arranged by Fishel Pustilnik. Rock. Score and part. 8 pages. F & N Enterprise #3110205. Published by F & N Enterprise (A0.632748). An excellent arrangement of famous We Are The Champions for Guitar and Piano (Jazz/Pop Version). The composition is easy to read, fun to play and sound professional when performed. Arranged by Fishel Pustilnik, very well known as Composer/Publisher. His books Jazz & Pop Piano Paradise (Volumes 1-5) have become a commercial success and a hit with music teachers and students in Canada. (Thousands books already sold in Canada). They are also starting to enter the US, Brazil, Norway, Russia, Holland, Israel, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Latvia and UK markets. This is a wonderful new publication. These pieces offer much appeal for the young pianist and excellent choice for a supplementary book for students from Grade 3 to 8. Lore Ruschiensky, Editor, (from review in The Canadian Music Teacher) Yesterday I spent at least two pleasure filled hours playing through your imaginatively inventive compositions. Congratulations! I trust students will decide to program your well crafted and entertaining works on recitals and examinations. Review from Dr. Jack Behrens, B.Sc. (Julliard), PH.D (Harvard), Director of Academic Studies, The Glenn Gould School I liked this book the best so far. Great work! You have a gift for melody and your arrangements are very playable. Congratulations on the 3rd Volume. Mark Carlstein, Hal Leonard, Keyboard Publications.
