Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1198473 Composed by Yury Markin. Arranged by Yury Chugunov and Zellev. 20th Century,Contemporary,Film/TV,Jazz,Wedding. Score. 4 pages. Zellev Music #797617. Published by Zellev Music (A0.1198473). Key Signature: Bâ™ MajTime Signature: 3/4Tempo: Adagio Rubato (Slowly as the performer feels like)Difficulty: Intermediatenot much known about the composer, the piece originally comes from jazz compilation by Yury Chugunov.from the excerpt: The publication is dedicated to the waltz - not quite an ordinary genre in jazz, where the quadruple meter reigned supreme. The waltz was established in many respects thanks to the creativity in the fifty of the musicians kula (the so-called cool jazz - cool jazz). Interest in the waltz was shown by several major musicians of this direction, such as Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck. One of the first waltz themes to penetrate jazz was Frank Churchill's most popular melody from the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Soon waltzes written by jazz musicians began to appear. The jazz waltz represents the lyrical side of jazz along with the jazz ballad and bossa nova. The collection includes works by Soviet and foreign authors. The latter are represented by the names of R. Rogers, B. Evans, D. Brubeck, P. Desmond with his famous Take Five waltz and others. Dave Brubeck (in whose ensemble alto saxophonist Paul Desmond played) was perhaps the first to experiment with five-, six-, seven-quarter time signatures, widely using variable time signatures, polyrhythm; a typical example of a waltz of variable size belongs to the young Moscow pianist Daniil Kramer (Caprice). Recall, by the way, that an example of a five-quarter waltz in symphonic music is found in Tchaikovsky (second movement of the Sixth Symphony). We hope that the collection will be of interest not only to jazz musicians, but also to a wider circle of music lovers.-Yuri Chugunov.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596572 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional,Spiritual. Score and parts. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4794205. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596572). Mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam was composed in Bremen (Germany) on 30th January 2017, shortly after knowing about the death of Uwe Kolkmeyer, musician and caricaturist to whom it is dedicated in memoriam.   The title refers to a thought by Carl Sagan: planet earth is a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. An old idea that, of course, was not expressed by him for the first and only time. In Sufism exists an allegory (attributed to Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi) according to which the essences of the possible beings do exist in the darkness before being manifested by the divine light, as the motes of dust suspended in the air in a darken room don't become visible until they are lit by a light ray.   A certain optimistic atmosphere in this work may surprise, the opposite of what is usually associated with death. In my works the tonality of A major often expresses consolation.   Selma Hande Gade (a Turkish pianist that lives in Denmark), with whom we had discussed possible titles for this work, recorded a home video in March 2017: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtzhHqB_Nb4   After listening to this recording, Luis Alberto Vittor wrote a report on this work for the blog Analecta Literaria (https://actaliteraria.blogspot.com), it will be published soon.   The composer made a commercial recording for the label Janus Music & Sound (JMS-999), which is available on iTunes, Spotify (and similar platforms). Release day: 26th July 2017 (birthday of both the dedicatee, Uwe Kolkmeyer and of Ibn Arabi).

Easy Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.968673 Composed by Nicole Doran. 20th Century,Christian,Jewish,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. Nicole E Doran #6304191. Published by Nicole E Doran (A0.968673). The Steadfast Heart, a psalm cycle for advancing musicians is a pedagogical work of art and a journey of faith. It sets into sound the faith of a Messianic Jewish classical musician who wants to pass along all that she has learned of faith and music to her children and the next generation of God-fearing musicians. Mastering the keyboard step by step helps you understand the miracle of harmony. Melodies refresh the soul and many tones blending together show the wonder of unity in diversity; this is true of all music. However, meditating on the psalms as you play helps you understand the way Christ and all the faithful have looked to the Father in Heaven as their guide and protector as you delight in the musical sounds you can produce.Dr. Doran includes accessible verses from the NIV and some lines of the poetry that challenge modern ears and sensibilities. Sweet melodies, imitative counterpoint, modal and tonal harmonization and register shifts prove that an intermediate pianist can savor the artistry for the level they have achieved and still thirst for more musical and spiritual goodness to come just like David longed for the Lord’s presence and fullness. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs after You, O God. Thousands of people are trying to hear or memorize ALL the Psalms in these confusing and uncertain times. What safer way to explore than in the shelter of your practice time until you are ready to share your favorites with others. Here is a method to use the instrument we have in our homes and be a participant in this wonderful musical journey from Psalm 1-150. Each new set should be released in January, April, August, and December.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1199426 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mark R. Fotheringham. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 10 pages. Kevin G. Pace #798494. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1199426). Poignant, sacred choral music.  The text is in reference to the sacrifices of the pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mark R. Fotheringham.  Dedicated to the Willie and Martin handcart companies. Text: Into the wind, we suffer the more. To Zion we march, or to heaven's door. We stumble and fall; angels attend To help us rise up and march on again. No never alone, for God is our guide. We know inside.Tattered and torn, our shoes all in shreds. In sage or in snow, we lay down our heads. We dig shallow graves, bury our dead, Then wake the next morn and onward we tred. Through trial and pain, we hold to the rod, And thus know God.All that we have in one little cart, Together we push; we each do our part. And somehow our hearts, knit by our chores, Are strengthened to know we'll see temple doors. These rags will be white, for joy is in store Forevermore.

This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. What is more, by contrasting the melody and chords with the full scoring, it should be possible to work some light and shade into performances.  You can hear all the pieces and their chords on YouTube together with contemporary art and historical background material:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNSAs a help to those less confident in playing harmony lines, I have provided links to playlists of videos online for each part of each piece. You will hear the selected line on its own with chords and percussion, with the melody line added on repeats. The final repeat includes the other harmony lines, but the featured line is slightly louder in the mix. The performance starts with a percussion beat introduction to set the tempo.Who were the Publishers and the Dance Masters? What did they do? Sometime around the 1500s, the popularity of dance music exploded in Europe. Dance Masters were collecting chansons and dance tunes from courts and rural parts and were teaching these to new audiences, spreading their arrangements and reflecting the performance styles of the areas from which they had collected the tunes. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. Working with this publication For those just starting out in Early Music, the volume is an ideal introduction, since the ensemble can build from a soloist with accompaniment with the chords alone, and parts can be added in as additional musicians become available. Instrumentation for these pieces was not specified in the original prints. The range of each part is quite limited, and though the harmonies may seem strange at times, key signatures are kind to the less experienced musician. If enthusiasm takes hold, then reproductions of early music instruments are sold by some very talented makers, as well as coming up on auction sites. Otherwise, it is possible to put together a fairly convincing ensemble with recorders, violins, a cello and mandolins, bouzoukis, flutes or guitars and gradually introduce the authentic instruments as they become available.

By Leonard Cohen. Arranged by Rita Arendz. 20th Century,Folk,Jewish,Pop,Standards. Brass Band. 56 pages. Rita Arendz #949662. Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1365341). DANCE ME TO THE END OF LOVE by Leonard Cohen for Brass BandComposed and released in 1984, Leonard Cohen's Dance Me to the End of Love, on the surface appears to be just another love song.  But it also has as its inspiration from the Holocaust. To Cohen, the idea came from hearing, reading, and knowing about the death camps: that at some camps, beside the crematoriums, a string quartet was pressed into performing while the horrors were occurring - and that the players could be next. The lyrics, Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin, represent the beauty of the consummation of life, the end of existence - layered with the surrender we feel for our beloved. The song's structure is similar to a Greek Hasapiko Dance, a style he would have heard while on the Island of Hydra.Although the theme is dark, there is a glimmer of light as Cohen searched from the raw truth to beauty, something he tried to find in all things. This arrangement is for a British-style Brass Band featuring the Flugelhorn and the Solo Tenor Horn.  These parts, along with the euphonium part, are for more advanced players.  The accompaniment parts are suitable for intermediate.A moving addition to your repertoire and a wonderful companion to Cohen's Hallelujah!Duration 4:15   56 pagesSound clip generated with NoteperformerMore Arrangements by Rita Arendz: https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/Search.aspx?query=rita%20arendzhttps://www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/explore?q=rita+arendz&lang=default.

Electric Violin,Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845965 By Bud Powell. By Vernon Duke. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Standards. Individual part. 6 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #4967185. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845965). An advanced-level jazz arrangement of Autumn in New York for unaccompanied 7-String Electric Violin. Although this was written on a 7-string, it also translates very well on a 6-string; there are only 2 passages that require the low Bb string, and these will sound fine taken up an octave. If you want to try this on a standard violin, well... good luck with the 5-note chords!I realize we extended-range violinists are few & far between, but if you (like me) appreciate the unique ability of this instrument to cover bass substitutions, chord melodies, and other roles that were previously thought exclusive to fretted/keyed instruments, this arrangement is an excellent demonstration of some of the really cool ways that you can bring a melody to life without the need for any effects or accompaniment. It is not for the faint of heart, and will definitely take some practicing, but if you can tackle the harmony this is a chart that is guaranteed to impress any jazz-nerd in the room... or your money back!*A challenging, yet elegant take on one of my favorite jazz ballads, this arrangement is great for showing off your jazz chops as a soloist, but can also work great as background music at one of those weddings or cocktail parties where someone decided it would be a hip idea to have an electric violinist... by themself...without any suggestions on repertoire (don't lie, we've all done at least one of these). Frets are optional, but not necessary ;-) I've been playing this for 6 years without... Performance time: 5 minutes, 30 secondsAlternatively you can skip one of the choruses to get it under 4 minutesQuestions? Suggestions? Requests? Contact me via my website: www.kylepudenz.com/Together, we can slowly fill the conspicuous void of printed music for electric violin!*You're not actually getting your money back. I stand by my comment about impressing the jazzers, though.

Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1281240 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Simon James. Classical,Contemporary,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 36 pages. DML #872584. Published by DML (A0.1281240). Songs are about storytelling, sometimes the emotions of a moment, happy or sad, sometimes an entire life in three verses and a chorus. These songs I chose because I like them, some I learnt from my first real guitar teacher, Dylan Todd, at the Guitar Centre in Palma de Mallorca in the late sixties when my family lived there; some from my father who was my other first guitar teacher; some down the years from other musicians. I have kept the accompaniments as simple as possible to go with my book The Art Of Accompaniment On The Guitar, most guitarists could handle them. I have also annotated everything, knowing the history of a song is important and as we increasingly lose the oral tradition I was brought up with the reason I chose certain verses and not others becomes relevant to that understanding. This is a simpler publication than the printed one available from Amazon. All of these songs are out of copyright, those that are in copyright that I would include and have arranged can be found individually through Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976713 Composed by Isaac Watts / Lowell Mason. Arranged by Robert Myers. Christian,Holiday,Love,Sacred. Score and parts. 49 pages. WheatMyer Music #4775721. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976713). When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, written by the Father of English Hymnody, Isaac Watts, in 1707 and later matched with Lowell Mason’s 1824 tune, HAMBURG, has long stood at the forefront of English hymnody. This arrangement, taken from my Passion Week cantata, Wounded, Bleeding, Still Proceeding, allows the full talent-spectrum of the Body of Christ to contemplate His sacrifice and offer their devotion. The first two stanzas feature an alto/soprano duet, set in a minor key with frequent diminished and augmented chords to reflect the despair and loss of a witness to the crucifixion. The entire third stanza, set for SATB chorus, never really moves off the F minor tonic until the end. That, and the relentless pounding of the bass line, ponders the witnesses' anguish and our vicarious experience of it through Scripture. So, sing these stanzas sadly – they are sad! When the choir enters, be sure to observe the swelling crescendos/diminuendos as the sorrow and love mingle together. The fourth stanza offers optional congregational participation and may be used to provide a responsorial to the Word of God or a preparation for the Table. The choir sings this stanza in four part harmony as the congregation joins on the melody. It stays in a major key and closely follows the traditional consonances used in Lowell Mason’s harmonization; thus, the choral parts will feel familiar and the congregational melody will flow naturally. Take the text literally (Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.) and sing it firmly, enthusiastically, passionately, but never triumphantly. Sing it as a song of personal devotion to commit all that you have, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, to the one who humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Phil 2:8b) so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21)The music is well within the grasp of any ensemble competent with traditional SATB anthems. The instrumental accompaniments are straightforward yet very colorful, suitable for high school or higher level players. When I Survey the Wondrous Cross is an unapologetic Christian worship anthem suitable for sacred services, yet it does not compromise on artistic expression. This is the orchestral accompaniment for the choral octavo version sold separately. This version includes full score and all instrumental parts.
