Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522222 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Folk,Holiday. Score. 21 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3913261. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522222). These folk song arrangements are written in the Welsh language. The vocal range is from Middle C to F on the top line of the staff. They are suitable for mezzo soprano and could also be sung by tenor voice an octave lower. They are among some of the most popular folk songs of Wales and sure to be well received at a vocal recital. They would also make excellent encore pieces. For copyright reasons, English translations are not provided, although some are to be found on various web pages. 1. Y Ddau Farch (The Two Mares) The song tells the story of two horses. The older one tells the younger, “In my day I was as good a horse as youâ€. But when I became too old to work, I was sent away to the mountains. She vows never to return to her cruel owners. This is an example of a macaronic song in which the lyrics use more than one language.  2. Si Hei Lwli, ’Mabi (Sleep, my Lovely Baby) In this pentatonic lullaby, a mother tells her child that their ship is moving away, the captain is on board, the eastern wind is blowing and the seagull is on its nest. 3. Canu Cwnsela (Wassail Song) The singers ask permission to come in and sing for their dinner. But they seem to have chosen the wrong house because the reply is: “I have no dinner or money to spend, to give you a welcome tonight.†The melody is in the Dorian Mode.  4. Robin Ddiog (Lazy Robin) The song, also in the Aeolian mode is about a robin whose little house is always tidy. “Open the door a little bit, so that I can see the sea and the waves†he asks. When the door is opened, the breeze sweeps away all the leaves from the floor. 5. Migildi Magildi “When the smithy’s door is open, we can see the blacksmith working.†The song describes the sights and sounds of the blacksmith’s workshop. You can hear all the songs in the audio demo, though they are played by an oboe rather than sung.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889114 Composed by hugh goodrdge. African,Contemporary. Score and parts. 4 pages. Goodridge & Huvon Music Publishing #2035979. Published by Goodridge & Huvon Music Publishing (A0.889114). This is a timely chorus, a driving force for any institution. This was the theme or motto used at J.W. Coleman school around 2,001 in District 23. This was the creation of Rosemarie Sinclair, the principal at that time. I thought I would share this song with the general public and to places beyond the borders of the United States of America. The message is powerful, and it shows that once we believe in ourselves, we can climb mountains and reach all our goals. The music has a foot tapping movement. The result, everyone will stand and break into singing.

He was simply one of millions in the vast American workingclass, one who was known to jot down a poem or two now and then. Here we have six examples of his work, poems which he wrote for his childhood sweetheart whom he waited fifty years to marry. Maxwell’s great grandson asked me to set these poems to music saying, the poems illuminate a picture of life in the American midwest during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His poetry serves as a lens through which we can view his . . . youthful romantic view of nineteenth-century prairie life.Since the poems are so imbued with nostalgia and 19th century romanticism, I endeavored to set them with an equally strong sense of the classic art song tradition.Curiously, these songs feel longer than they actually are. There are many pieces about which one could say the same thing with less charity, but in this case it’s a good thing: the poems are quite short (the longest is only twelve lines, the shortest only four!)The entire cycle lasts just under 12 minutes. The audio sample includes most of one song (A June Night) and all of a second (Have You Found a Place?). These are enough to give you a sense of the whole cycle.

Cello,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1280306 Composed by Brian Strohmetz. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 46 pages. Brian Strohmetz #871769. Published by Brian Strohmetz (A0.1280306). Around the Bend is a journey of tranquility, adventure, and discovery down a section of the Monocacy Creek in Bethlehem, PA. The first section of the music that appears throughout the piece is a simple melody that is reminiscent of a simple art song. It represents the river flowing along peacefully on a beautiful day. Occasionally, we come across an area where the water hits a small obstacle that causes the water to change its path and speed. We hear this as violent 16th note interruptions in the music. The river then returns to its natural flow and pace. Further along we encounter a small waterfall area with rapids and obstacles. The music cascades and has a rhythmic drive representing the rapids and the swift moving waters. After we have traversed the rapids, we return to the calm waters of the river as it continuously flows peacefully. The next portion of our journey is inspired by a specific and unique section of the Monocacy, where we find the hidden ivy. Trees surround the creek. When looking into them, at a certain angle, you will find a tree covered in ivy hidden amongst the other trees. When we reach this point in our journey, the music starts off mysteriously as though looking through the trees. When we find the hidden ivy, we are greeted by a majestic melody that reflects this hidden beauty. The piano plays a rising arpeggio repeatedly, reflecting the ivy’s goal to grow higher and closer to the sky. Once we pass the ivy, we return to the peacefully flowing river. We approach a bend in the river that we cannot see beyond. There is a bit of trepidation, but as we start to go around the bend, everything ends peacefully, and we know everything will be fine. The river will keep moving and we will survive. For Cello & Piano.

SAB choir, Piano - Digital Download SKU: LX.65-1984M A Christmas Worship Experience of the Christ-Light. Composed by Laura Kathryn Rosser and Mary McDonald. With Optional Full Orchestra, Choral Cantatas. Christmas. 92 pages. Monarch Music #e65/1984M. Published by Monarch Music (LX.65-1984M). The significance of Christ's coming is beautifully conveyed in this service of worship for the Christmas season. Recognizing Jesus' birth as the coming of the Christ-Light offers us hope, peace, light, joy, and love. We sense the celebration shared by all who welcome Him, from the Israelites 2,000 years ago to each of us who invite this Child into our hearts today. The blending of new anthems with familiar carols and choruses makes this suitable for traditional and blended churches alike. Beginning with a quiet theme incorporating the beloved Londonderry Air, the orchestral overture is soon energized with a Celtic setting of the French carol He Is Born. A brief narrative precedes an optional candlelight processional by the choir while familiar choruses and carols offer the congregation an opportunity to join in singing this celebration of Christ's birth. Other well-known tunes include the chorus I Worship You, Almighty God, and a fresh version of When You Left Your Throne..

Brass Ensemble Bass Trombone,Euphonium,Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1175824 By Jonas Hocherman. By Jonas Hocherman. Arranged by Jonas Hocherman. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 49 pages. Jonas Hocherman #775945. Published by Jonas Hocherman (A0.1175824). This piece is for the formation of Brass ensemble. It's about passage, about path, about life and about death. I began to write this piece from a rhythmic ostinato that came to me from the machine that monitored my father's health in the hospital in his last days of life. This ostinato immediately referred me to a clave of a candomblé rhythm called batá. From this rhytmic motive that accompanies us on this path, the theme emerges as if it were a distant corner that resonsin our existence. The ideas that accompany emerge and transform, bringing to this passage between life and death, this environment of the existence of the work.Listening is an immersion in this moment that we don't know, but we can imagine. This timeless space arises from passage between life and death, death and life.
