Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1165227 By Judy Garland. By E.Y. Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen. Arranged by Richard Hirsch. 20th Century,Broadway,Multicultural,Musical/Show,Standards,World. Individual part. 7 pages. Richard Hirsch #765578. Published by Richard Hirsch (A0.1165227). With inspiration in Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World mashup, I offer an arrangement of the song Over the Rainbow for solo acoustic guitar. In my childhood The Wizard of Oz was one of my favourite fairy tales, especially as I spent a few of my early years in the little town of Winfield Kansas where tornadoes were a constant threat. I still remember huddling in the cellar with my mother and little brother when a tornado warning had been broadcast. With this in mind, the first part of the arrangement is meant to resemble a whirlwind that takes us up to the dreamland of Oz portrayed in the slower second part. In the third part, we come back down to waking reality in another mirror image whirlwind. The arrangement has an afro-flamenco character with two tiers of rhythm. Tier one is the normal 4/4 rhythm with accents at 1 and 3. Tier two consists of accents falling on beats 2 and 2& and 3& of the 4 beat measures. Tier two can be highlighted by clapping or tapping with a table knife on a bottle at beats 2 and 2& and 3&, with the strongest accent on 3& (an upbeat). The piece ends with a chord of natural harmonics on the 3& upbeat. The natural harmonics in the rhythmic fingerpicking resembling a kalimba (thumb harp) add an African touch to the piece. The piece is within reach of advanced intermediate students of fingerstyle or classical acoustic guitar. Besides the polyrhythmic fingerpicking, in the second dreamland part the piece offers the opportunity to play a broken chord of right hand harmonics, usually a real hit with listening audiences. I give suggestions for left and right hand fingering where I think necessary. The suggested tempo is presto for the fast first and third parts, but they could be played even faster for dramatic effect. The slow dreamland second part should be played with the melody floating lazily over the beat. The piece is a good follow up to my arrangements, also available at SheetMusicDirect and SheetMusicPlus of Freight Train and What a Wonderful World that use the same fingerpicking techniques.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977681 Composed by Traditional Liberian welcome chant. Arranged by Sylvia Miles. African,Children,Folk,Standards,World. Octavo. 2 pages. Sylvia Miles #6129437. Published by Sylvia Miles (A0.977681). Fanga Alafia is a chant of welcome, from Liberia, in the Yoruba language.Fanga Alafia means hello, we dance a welcome; Aa shay aa shay means come and be with us.It's arranged for SAA, basically treble voices. It's a great song for youngsters (or indeed the young at heart). The second altos, with their skippy rhythm, have the fun of lightening the whole piece - not something that A2s are often asked to do!In the call and response section, especially in verse 4, you could have 1s and 2s doing the call / response, with a sort of contest to see who can sound more welcoming. The song sounds great with a drum.

Guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4308 Composed by Giorgio Mirto. Score. 24 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4308. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4308). Following a recent experience on the jury of a guitar competition, I noted with great pleasure that Giorgio Mirto, with whom I had shared the role of juror, wanted to celebrate the experience of the competition - during from which we discovered that we had had a great affinity of thought - with something which could endure over time and not evaporate as often happens in short and occasional meetings between musicians. He did it as a true composer, which he is, and dedicated to me a very beautifully crafted Suite to which I allowed myself to collaborate at least formally, by suggesting titles for the four movements. This is how Suite n.1 was born, a piece that does not strictly respect the formal rules of the Baroque era, but reinterprets and reuses them in a new key. The work's obvious late Baroque inspiration led me to find titles that invited the performer to delve deeper into the work's aesthetic inspiration. So I suggested to Giorgio that he title the four movements with something that linked their content to four greats of the 18th century. German masters. The prelude has thus become from Eisenach because of its sometimes improvised Bach-like atmosphere, the second movement, vaguely toccata, speaks an organ language in the manner of Buxtehude (who lived in Lübeck), the slow movement has a Handelian quality - and Handel was born in Halle - and the last movement, far from being a true Chaconne, undoubtedly has the latter's taste for variation and ostinato, typical traits of Telemann who lived in Magdeburg. The cities that appear in the titles are therefore indelible to the authors cited. Furthermore, one should not think that the style of the work is in any way German, given that Giorgio Mirto expresses himself in a very joyful language that synthesizes modality with minimalism, all seasoned with a a nod to Pink's progressive rock Floyd. or a Mike Oldfield... The result of this mixture of ideas, inspirations and styles is a work that personally I never tire of reading and rereading, for the freshness that emanates from it and for the climate expressive which rises, nourishing itself with full efficiency. We ultimately cannot ignore that the note B, the one which marks in a minor way some of the most expressive works of the guitar repertoire, from the study of Sor which made generations of students fall in love with the guitar, until to that of Frank Martin's Four Pieces via La Catedral di Barrios, is the modal fulcrum of the entire Suite: it is true that the Prelude begins with a clear chord in E minor and lingers on an open ending in A minor , but it almost seems that the initial E serves as a launching pad for a continuation of the work in which the dominant, that is to say the B, is the true musical North, the pole star which guides us in the other three movements until the end of the Chaconne de Magdebourg. I wish Giorgio and our Suite great longevity and a favorable destiny in the complex and complex world of contemporary guitar composition.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1154044 Composed by Daniel Nicolae Dubei. Classical. Score. 9 pages. Daniel Nicolae Dubei #754315. Published by Daniel Nicolae Dubei (A0.1154044). I don't want it bogged down too much in the baggage of Hamlet, which is obviously impossible. The words in the title matter, and Shakespeare words is the best. The basic idea of the piece is death. In the first half, the protagonist feels death approaching. The middle march section is death's grasp, and the second half is the after-life dream. Sometimes we feel miserable with our lives and just simply desire that escape into a world that cannot harm us anymore. And sometimes it is okay to feel that, and to express that. Whatever may come after death, in the end, doesn't matter, because death is such a finality to life. I know for me, this piece lifts up my spirits and helps me enjoy life more. Our ability to express, particularly through music, the pains we may be feeling, is one of the greatest gifts we humans possess. I hope everyone is able to enjoy this music and my expression.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042625 Composed by Todd Marchand. Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Con Spirito Music #647400. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1042625). Tobias Clausnitzer (1619-1684) was a German Lutheran pastor and writer of theological treatises, sermons, and hymns. His best-known hymn, perhaps, is Liebster Jesu wir sind bier, translated to English and published as Blessed Jesus, at thy word by the English hymn-writer and educator Catherine Winkworth (1827-1878) in her Lyra Germanica — Hymns for the Sundays and Chief Festivals of the Christian Year, translated from the German (1858), and repeated in her Chorale Book for England (1863). Winkworth was also translator for Clausnitzer's Wir glauben all an einen Gott, Yater, Sohn und heilgen Geist (We all believe in one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost), a metrical paraphrase of the Apostles Creed designated for Trinity Sunday in the Culmbach-Bayreuth Gesang-Buch (1668). Winkworth also included this in her Chorale Book for England. This new musical setting, mostly in unison and briefly expanding to three-part harmony at the peak of each verse, is very singable by small and developing choirs composed of soprano, alto, and baritone/bass voices. The accompaniment, with sustained tones, is best realized on organ. The opening phrase, We all believe in one true God, may be sung by a solo male voice, similar to the opening intonation of a chanted canticle or psalm. Dynamic contrasts (crescendi and decrescendi) throughout follow the rising and falling of the melodic line and should be carefully observed. ©Copyright 2022 Todd Marchand / ConSpiritoMusic. Text: Doris Simpson. This musical is an outgrowth of our experience and involvement in the Senior Adult and Children's ministry of our church. We discovered the magic of combining youth and age, and were inspired by their special ability to understand and communicate with each other. For the purpose of this musical, we will be using the broad term Junior Choir instead of children. As you rehearse and perform Side By Side, our prayer is that you will be reminded that Jesus reached out continuously to people unlike himself and has commanded us to do the same. The authors are grateful for the spiritual insight these two groups have given us, and for their showing us the meaning of these two passages from the Psalms: Children are a gift from God: they are his reward (Psalm 127:3); The virtuous ... will flourish in the courts of our God, still bearing fruit in old age, still remaining fresh and green, to proclaim that Yahweh is righteous (Psalm 92: 13-15).

UPC: 000308062977. Text: Niel Lorenz.Seek, and you will find. It is one of best-known and oft-quoted scripture passages. In a broad sense, all Christians are seekers: seekers of Christ in all parts of our lives, much as those centuries ago, were seeking a Messiah to lead the faithful out of the darkness and into a promised land And it is from this interesting premise that the familiar Christmas is brought to life in text and music for us today much as it was for Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, and the angels years ago. Using some familiar carols as well as John Purifoy's well-known original melodic gifts, CHRISTMAS SEEKERS will not only enhance your celebration of Christmas, but engender the spirit of seeking Christ in all we are and in all we do. Moon River - 1961, music: Henry Mancini, lyrics: Johnny Mercer - was composed for the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, in which the song was sung by Audrey Hepburn. The composers received the Oscar for the best film song in 1962, and the song is considered a contribution to the Great American Songbook. The song was adapted for the Kalimba with 17 tines and provided with reed numbers/symbols. These symbols are briefly explained in the appendix and can also be seen on most Kalimbas. The classic musical notation and/or the lyrics help to develop the song, so that even those unfamiliar with music notes can learn to play the song with this arrangement. The sound of a Vibraphone was used in the setting so that the sound does not mix with the sound of your own instrument. The melody is backed by a metronome and quietly by an organ. We hope you enjoy making music...!Moon River - 1961, Musik: Henry Mancini, Text: Johnny Mercer - wurde für den Film Frühstück bei Tiffany komponiert, in dem das Lied von Audrey Hepburn gesungen wurde.
