All in Love Is Fair is a song by American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder recorded for his sixteenth studio album, Innervisions (1973). The song is a pop ballad with lyrics that describe the end of a relationship through the use of clichés. Critical reaction to the song was varied. Choral Choir (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.873030 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Octavo. 12 pages. Sally Whitwell #3869009. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873030). Composer’s Note - Growing into meOn a particularly blustery Winter's day, I went to the National Arboretum in my home town of Canberra, Australia, with a bunch of very lovely kids from the Woden Valley Youth Choir (WVYC). Their director Alpha Gregory had asked me to come and do a composition workshop with the kids, to which I had replied with an enthusiastic YES!.I'd done this kind of thing with WVYC before, but this time around I wanted to take it somehow to the next level, to give the piece a real sense of place, a specific and experiential connection to the local community or landscape, and the Arboretum seemed a natural choice for me for an inspirational excursion. I had a family connection to it myself at the time, my cousin Emma worked there and was very passionate about it. Also, it is an outdoorsy kind of place and I have such fond memories of outdoorsy exploratory kinds of activities filling my entire childhood, a very typically Canberran thing. I'm sure the WVYC kids have a similar experience and I hope they know how lucky they are!So we put on our winter coats and scarves and hiked up the mountain, being sure to not only look at what was there, but also to listen, to touch, to smell. It was truly a multi sensory experience. Then we all went down to a local church hall and talked about what we saw and heard and smelt and the kids were just bursting with wonderful ideas for our new song. I've incorporated as many of their ideas as possible into the completed product, as well as my own over-arching theme; the oldest of the trees at the National Arboretum are only a couple of years older than some of the children in the group, so it seemed a nice parallel to make, their growing up alongside each other. It is my hope that the writing of this piece bonds these children to this important and magical place, so ripe with possibility, and that the connection is a lasting and meaningful one for them. It certainly will be for me.-- Sally Whitwell

Pipe Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1393797 By Dr. Sheri Masiakowski. By Sr. Mary Hueller OSF (Sr. Maurelia Hueller OSF). Arranged by Dr. Sheri Masiakowski. 20th Century,Sacred. Full Performance. Duration 165. School Sisters of St. Francis #977269. Published by School Sisters of St. Francis (A0.1393797). Sister Mary Hueller (1921-2017), DMA from the Eastman School of Music, colleague of Sr. Theophane Hytrek OSF, was professor of organ, piano, and liturgical music at Alverno College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) throughout her professional career. At various times Sister Mary chaired the Fine Arts Division, coordinated the Music Department, and served on many college committees. After Sr. Theophane Hytrek's passing in 1992, Sr. Mary succeeded her as organist at St. Joseph Chapel for several decades. “Tribute†was written in response to Sr. Theophane Hytrek’s choral compostion “Canticle of the Creatures†(SSAA) sung by the School Sisters of St. Francis choirs regularly for community celebrations since it was written in 1949. The choral composition will soon be published in both SSAA and SATB arrangements. “Tribute†is of intermediate difficulty but has a challenging pedal part. At the time of composition Sr. Mary had learned to use Finale software and engraved the original score herself. This editor enjoyed spending time with Sr. Mary once a week as tutor while she developed this skill. Unfortunately the original computer file is no longer available and extant copies are not of sufficient quality to publish. Dr. Masiakowski produced the following edition based on Sr. Mary’s score. Fingering and pedal suggestions are those of Sr. Mary Hueller. Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1083503 Composed by David Neff and Enoch Sontonga. Arranged by David Neff. Folk,Multicultural,Patriotic,Sacred,Traditional,World. Score. 4 pages. David Neff #687709. Published by David Neff (A0.1083503). Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika was written as a prayer for the freedom and prosperity Africa during a time when most of the continent was dominated by European colonial powers. It later became the anthem of several African countries, and during the presidency of Nelson Mandela, it was folded into the South African national anthem. The song had been banned during the apartheid years because of its association with the ANC. It was the South African counterpart to the role played by We Shall Overcome in the Civil Rights struggle in the U.S. These gentle. reflective variations for organ are appropriate at any time of year, but especially during Black History Month. I wrote this piece to honor the African immigrant families in the church I serve as music director.

Thanks, John.  The album with this song was recorded in Paris, and Quincy Jones led an orchestra of both American and French musicians in the studio. In the liner notes from the original album, jazz critic Nat Hentoff quotes the description of the recording of the album that Williams gave. Our first session was for 9:00 p.m., and I was all set to record. At 9:30 some musicians were still arriving. After about an hour, we had finished one song. The sound was wonderful, and I was very happy. At this point, I was informed that the orchestra has to have a 15 minute break. The musicians vanished to a local café for some wine. About 45 minutes later, they began arriving back in the studio. We got one more song recorded before the contractor stood up and, in perfect English, said, 'Overtime'.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.992361 Composed by Tim Fatchen. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 15 pages. Flying Tadpole Productions #6210807. Published by Flying Tadpole Productions (A0.992361). ALT.CALLAHANS REEL(which is actually a Slide, with a Reel interlude!)  Fast  and lively foot-tapping neo-Celtic, at its best on electronic keyboard but also  a fun piano solo.  (Duration 8+ minutes)  Reel Jiggery-pokery The  song started as a jig but drank too much and reeled into 12/8 time. Properly  speaking, despite its strong 4-beat pulse, it's a Slide. Or perhaps a Double Jig. Except for the mid-section, which is really a Reel!  Needless to say, this is not for the  purists...but it's huge fun for the rest of us!  Playing and Performing We've marked it Advanced Intermediate. It's the indicated speed which makes demands!  But you can play it slower and enjoy! On  electronic or MIDI keyboard, use a percussive/plucked foundation (e.g. piano,  harp, faux guitar) with a sustained string patch (string ensemble, synth strings, viola works well, fiddle works well, most violin patches are  terrible!). For piano, you'll have to use more of the sustain pedal but not too much or it'll go all muddy on you, just like a mis-step in an Irish bog! (Original  live and YouTube performances were on a Medeli MC 710, from 2005.  This keyboard allowed splitting and dual voices. Piano was used as foundation both above and below the split point. A  loud viola patch was used as the second voice on the upper part of the  keyboard, as the dominant fiddle sound carrying the melody.  A synth string patch was used  as second voice on the lower half, giving  the drones.)  Add Your Own Salt and Pepper to the Score! The  song is scored for clarity, not as a detailed demand for every possible  nuance.  It's fast, so although simple  to look at when not playing,  you'll  need to be reading the music at speed. Unless, of course, you're blessed with a  brilliant memory!   So  the score isn't cluttered with ornaments and fiddly bits, or lots of expression marks. Especially, it's not cluttered by a lot of suspended notes.  BUT...you will need to suspend a lot of notes as you play. Think drones running all over the place and use your  keyboard sustaining string patches to bring those drones out!  Listen to the live recordings, they'll  help.  You,  as player, have lots of freedom!  It's up to you how many additional frills, or emphasis, or drone  suspensions you throw in.  Why alt.callahans? In the far distant past of 2005, there was  an Internet  newsgroup of that name, in honor and emulation of  Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, a fictional bar with strongly community-minded and empathic clientele, part of the fictional universe of American writer  Spider Robinson. [Wikipedia]  A  place for tall tales and true, comradeship, puns both good and bad.  We had fun there, and this song came out of  it. The Internet world, sadly, has changed since.

Marimba Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.935391 Arranged by Dan Heslink. Christian,Christmas. Individual part. 13 pages. Pharaoh Publications #6194993. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935391). Christmas Medley for Marimba Trio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . arr. Dan HeslinkThis medley combines three of the most favored Carols celebrating the miracle of Christ’s birth. Angels We Have Heard On High encapsulates the birth of Jesus Christ as narrated in the Gospel of Luke. The flowing second part of this carol portrays the shepherds’ wonder as they encounter a multitude of angels singing and praising.  The spiritual renewal brought about by the birth of the Christ child is given in What Child Is This? Sung to the tune of the traditional English song Greensleeves, its haunting quality has made it one of the most popular of Christmas carols. And focusing on the immediacy of the Child’s entrance into the world, Away in a Manger has become the most loved of all American Christmas carols.  The medley opens with an eight-measure introduction that immediately establishes the Christmas spirit, and then moves on to Angels We Have Heard on High. The binary form of this section should suggest to the performers two contrasting manners of execution, one involving brisk, rhythmic strokes and the other more legato in nature. At the second indicated rehearsal number What Child Is This? introduces a new key and new meter for new melodic content. The score shapes these phrases with dynamic changes, which should be observed with care. The dynamic arches and divided eighth note passages will enhance the impetus of a rolling ternary meter  The medley’s final selection, Away in a Manger, begins at measure sixty-seven. A light and delicate approach to execution should create an innocent, child-like characterization. The final cadence of this selection is expanded to a bolder conclusion. Players and conductor may wish to experiment with a dead stroke on the last soft note, to artistically suggest that the music may be experienced for a moment even after it is concluded.  This medley will be especially effective programmed on a winter holiday concert. Duration is 2:21. The arranger, Dan Heslink, assigned a difficulty level of medium, and can be contacted at dan@dheslink.com.
