It is way easier than it looks, but beware of the octaves. Make sure your student's hand can reach. Believe it or not, my student was only in Federation Class Primary III! But she was able to learn this piece with no issues. It helped that she was obsessed with this music! It was one of the highlights at our recital. With music by Jerome Kern and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the show deals with themes of racism, alcoholism, and spousal desertion at a time when social ills were not even a remote part of the typical Broadway fare. Kern's score was well received and contains many familiar songs like Ol' Man River. Make Believe, and Why do I love you?. But after Ol' Man River, It is probably the charming and poignant Bill that is most familiar to modern audiences. This arrangement gives the melody to a solo Alto Saxophone with a string accompaniment that preserves the early 20th-century feel of the original. It will work great on a pops concert, or as a lighter encore to a more serious saxophone concerto.

Having visited London several times, I had yet to experience the Changing of the Guard andrain was forecast for Sunday following the Saturday night concert. The skies were clear and I so enjoyedthe day an though how enchanting London is. The opening Prelude captures the excitement of the city.Soliloquies is in 3/4 time and heard in the sample recording. Promenade and Finale round out the suite.
