Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205900 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Pop,Rock,Standards. Score. 2 pages. John Fries #804091. Published by John Fries (A0.1205900). Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns. Thanks, John.Ā  Can't Buy Me Love is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released in March 1964 as the A-side of their sixth single. Ā It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. Ā The song was included on the group's album A Hard Day's Night and was featured in a scene in Richard Lester's film of the same title. The single topped charts in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden. Ā In the UK, it was the fourth highest selling single of the 1960s. Ā The song's verse is a twelve-bar blues in structure, a formula that the Beatles seldom applied to their own material. Ā When pressed by American journalists in 1966 to reveal the song's true meaning, McCartney stated: I think you can put any interpretation you want on anything, but when someone suggests that 'Can't Buy Me Love' is about a prostitute, I draw the line. Ā He went on to say: The idea behind it was that all these material possessions are all very well, but they won't buy me what I really want. Ā However, he was to comment later: It should have been 'Can Buy Me Love' when reflecting on the perks that money and fame had brought him.

Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.943771 Composed by Saban Haim and Shuki Levy. Arranged by Ruth Anastasia. Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Ruth Anastasia #6410497. Published by Ruth Anastasia (A0.943771). This is an Easy Piano Solo for a Beginner Level Student, with an optional duet accompaniment for Teacher. It's the piano portion of the music that plays when Link rides a horse in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. BOTW is a video game with an incredibly broad-based appeal. If you're a piano teacher, it's likely at least one of your students has already played this game and loves it. If they have, this music will be instantly recognizable and a joy for them to learn and to play, over and over again. Despite the key signature, the student part is technically simple and could easily be taught by rote for a very early beginner. The teacher's part may be somewhat challenging when played at full speed. Although the duet can be played on one piano, it is less awkward when played on two.Your preview shows just the first page of the student's part. Your download will include both the student and teacher scores. Click Listen to hear a sample with both parts played together.

Trumpet Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.775966 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Standards. Individual part. 3 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2034727. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.775966). Newton Antiphonies (2008) for two or more trumpets was composed for the First Unitarian Society in Newton, Massachusetts on the occasion of its 160th anniversary in November 2008. The score of the work consists of seven cells, each with a different tempo. It is important that the distinct tempo and character of each cell be observed. Other than starting points (as described below), no rhythmic coordination between the performers should be attempted in any way. A performance should begin with the first trumpet playing cell #1. When he reaches the point in the cell marked with an asterisk (*), the second player begins playing cell #1. Once the first player has finished cell #1, after a brief pause, he may choose any one of the other six cells to play next. When the second player has reached the point in cell #1 marked by the asterisk, the third player begins cell #1, continuing after a pause to whichever cell he has chosen next. This thus continues in this same manner for each trumpet. Ideally, the piece will last between 2 and 5 minutes, although if there are an exceptionally large number of trumpets used, it may be longer. Each player thus always begins with cell #1 and after finishing it, plays the remaining cells in any order he chooses, not repeating any and pausing briefly between each one. Once finished with playing all seven, the player stops. When only one player (the last player) is left playing his final cell (and ideally at the point marked with the asterisk in whichever cell he is playing), the first trumpet should begin playing cell #7 again. Thus, the first player will always end the piece alone with cell #7, which is the only repetition of a cell that occurs in the context of performance. The composer recommends between 4 and 6 trumpets for an ideal performance, however any number (two or more) is acceptable. It is also strongly requested that the trumpets surround the audience antiphonally. The work may be performed on any matched trumpets (i.e., do not mix C and Bb instruments).

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942058 Composed by Apostolos Paraskevas. 20th Century,Jazz,Opera,World. Score. 10 pages. Silver Sickle Publications #4729017. Published by Silver Sickle Publications (A0.942058). This witty and extremely fun work to perform by composer Apostolos Paraskevas was conceived after real events. There is a version for Soprano/tenor and Piano and one for guitar as well. Easy to perform and the text was inspired of the following narrative. I Slaughtered an Orange over the Sink... ...and it just sat there…It didn't say a word, not a sound of anguish, not even when my teeth started to tear apart it's flesh little by little... I knew it was a special orange but I couldn't fathom the magnitude of its character…Even when gentle I took it away from its friends there at the top of the kitchen counter, it looked at me almost with a sense of gratitude. Yes, gratitude.! As if it was saying: Thank you! Thank you for helping me to fulfill the purpose of my life…Since I was a little seed I knew I would serve a higher purpose. My sacrifice will help a human to become a healthier mother, doctor, composer, a better scientist. Yes, I think I felt it said…a better composer as well. ...and there I was, sinking my teeth deep inside its flesh and taking all of what it had to offer. It's life, it's substance, it's gratitude for serving a higher purpose. I slaughtered it over the sink, to avoid any evidence of what had happen there. The remaining outer sell, I placed it on the stove top and lighted up with fire, as my mother use to do, to release the heavenly smell and there it was. Evaporated everywhere! I inhale it, It became totally a part of me. Today, I slaughtered an orange over the sink and I didn’t say thank you!   Apostolos Paraskevas is a classical guitarist and composer as well as an award-winning film director and producer. He has received multiple international awards for his compositions and was nominated for a Grammy Award. He is the only guitarist ever to have a major orchestral piece performed at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Lukas Foss––and the only musician who has performed there in a Grim Reaper outfit. He was the founder and served for 16 years as the artistic director of the International Guitar Congress-Festival of Corfu, Greece.  He is a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammys).   After his undergraduate music studies in Volos he pursued advanced studies in classical guitar with Costas Cotsiolis (diploma, 1990) and Leo Brouwer (Havana 1984, 1988), as well as postgraduate studies in composition with Lukas Foss and Theodore Antoniou (DMA in composition, Boston University, 1998). Paraskevas embarked on a successful career as a guitar soloist and contemporary composer, achieving distinctions in both disciplines: Grammy nomination for Chase Dance (Bridge Records, 1999); first prize for Night Wanderings (Lukas Foss Composition Competition, 2000); first prize for Phygein Adynaton (National Composers Conference, 1997); and numerous prestigious commissions, performances, and publications. Following teaching posts at Northeastern and Boston Universities, Paraskevas has taught since 2001 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (professor of composition and classical guitar). His eclectic compositional style arises as an idiosyncratic integration of seemingly conflicting influences – from avant-garde approaches to harmonic structure, form, and timbre, to pop-folk modal and rhythmical concepts – amalgamated into a personal evocative musical language, characterized by rhythmic verve, melodic grace, dramatic (and sometimes unexpectedly humorous) gestures, and ritualistic or theatrical elements. The latter feature has also led Paraskevas to the creation of films, notably the acclaimed I Finally Did It (Gold award, California Film Awards 2010), dealing wittily with Death, a recurring extra-musical theme in his music. The Groves Dictionary of Music Costas.

Accordion,Double Bass,Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1068894 Composed by Lars Ek. Folk,World. Full Performance. Duration 225. Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & UnderhÄllningsskrädderiet AB #1921499. Published by Lars Ek Cosmos Music c/o Musik & UnderhÄllningsskrädderiet AB (A0.1068894). Something quite astonishing has happened in the Swedish accordion world during the last couple of years, we“ve got a new idol. It“s astonishing in two different ways: for us who know the accordion world it“s a fact that Lars Ek has been around as a professional accordionist for almost 20 years, since he finished school, second: he has become an idol playing music and in a style that has it“s roots 50 years back in the accordion music history. One could say that Lars Ek, today 35 years old, should have been 85, active in the 30“s. Himself, he confess that he feels kind of secret longing back to a time when accordionists were equilibrists, when accordionists played in a brilliant way, the golden age it was for all accordion music all over the world, an age that we will never meet again. It“s a type of music which is historical but not belonging to the museums, not dead, it“s a typical of music filled with life. Very much so thanks to Lars Ek. It“s a quite notable situation. Lars Ek has been playing the accordion for a long time, he has been playing all types of music that can be played on an accordion. Just some few years ago he met, via phonograph records, the music of Nils Lind and Ragge Sundquist (two legendary Swedish performers from the 30“s and the 40“s, both dead since long ago - they both founded a school and a style) and, of course, also Frosini. And then, finally, Lars Ek felt that it was exactly here, in this style where he belonged. Lars Ek finally came home. Some sloppy listeners say that Lars Ek is copying the music of Nils Lind. Those are listeners who don“t listen. Others say that Lars is a maniac - he plays on an accordion of the Raggie Sundquist brand from 1937 and since a couple of years he also owns and plays an accordion once owned by Pietro Frosini, manufactured in 1927. That“s not mania. The style asks for such instruments. It“s most correct that way. Lars Ek has become incredibly popular. There are many reasons. He has lots of personality, he is a stage personality, he shows enthusiasm and joy while performing, he knows how to attract an audience (and the girls say he“s very handsome). One other reason is that the music Lars performs finds lots of response from the audience. And, please, don“t think it“s only those old ones who were around in the 30“s who love the music - so do even the young ones! Lars Ek x 2 is the name of the record. The explanation is simple. Lars wasn“t able to find a second accordionist to assist him. So, thanks to the technique he is his own second accordionist himself in five of the tunes performed. There is one more explanation. Lars performs melodies linked to the names of Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Frosini, but he also plays five compositions of hes own. Just to show how he wants accordion music to be composed. Lars Ek does not need any recommendation, his records sell anyway. But you“re going to get some final words. This records is, regarding style, very rare to be recorded in 1982, it“s a matter of looking back and to do so with lots of skill, a look back that golden age of the accordion. It“s also a very personal record. The inspiration may very well be Nils Lind, Ragge Sundquist and Pietro Frosini. But it“s Lars Ek who plays. In his personal way. Which means that this is a record played in a very personal way.
