String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1011813 Composed by Jairo Ouma Jura. Christian,Holiday,Instructional,New Age. Score and parts. 20 pages. Jairo Ouma Jura #3480601. Published by Jairo Ouma Jura (A0.1011813). This is a wonderful wellness classical music ballet that, to me, describes various facets of the journey of life. It is soothing and captivating. You cannot get bored listening to it even while driving or relaxing at home; or even when you are walking along in those quiet moments when people reflect much about new ideas or their life experiences. This is a great piece of music, fresh from me, the composer.

String Quartet Cello,Double Bass,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092472 Composed by Francesco Durante. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 7 pages. Regis Bookshar #696563. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1092472). Kyrie - by Francesco Durante; String Quartet – Intermediate – Digital Download. “Kyrieâ€, originally written for a four-part vocal ensemble by Francesco Durante, has now been transcribed, edited and arranged by Regis Bookshar, for a String Quartet, consisting of 1 Violin, 1 Viola, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass. It would be a welcomed addition to any music library. This short composition, which lasts less than two minutes, will provide students with the opportunity to continue to develop good intonation because many of the phrases cadence on a unison note. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble’s extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quartet version of this composition for many church services, especially funerals, when we were asked to supply something more somber and introspective rather than the louder, more festive music which many people come to expect from a Trumpet Ensemble. Francesco Durante was an Italian composer who was born on March 31, 1684 at Frattamaggiore, in the Kingdom of Naples. At an early age he entered the Conservatorio dei poveri di Gesu Cristo, in Naples, where he received lessons from Gaetano Greco. Later he became a pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti at the Conservatorio di Sant’Onofrio. He is said to have succeeded Scarlatti in 1725 at Sant’Onofrio and to have remained there until 1742, when he succeeded Nicola Porpora as head of the Conservatorio di Santa Maria de Loreto, also in Naples. He held this post for thirteen years, until his death on September 30, 1755. His fame as a teacher was considerable, and, unlike his Neapolitan contemporaries, who attracted international notice with their operas, Francesco Durante achieved recognition through his church music, along with some vocal chamber and instrumental works. His concern was not quantity. A complete collection of Durante’s works, consisting almost exclusively of sacred music, was presented by Gaspare Selveggi, a Neapolitan art collector and music theorist, to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. The imperial library of Vienna also preserves a valuable collection of Durante’s manuscripts. The fact that Durante never composed for the stage brought him an exaggerated reputation as a composer of sacred music. He was considered one of the best church composers of his style and period. In his masses, requiems, litanies and Lamentations, he could provide strong expressive moments, as he does in this “Kyrieâ€. In addition to this arrangement for a String Quartet, Regis Bookshar has also made other arrangements of this selection. There are Quartets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I’m certain that this beautiful arrangement of Francesco Durante’s “Kyrie†will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

A song of comfort about God's abiding care. There's never been a friend so dear than He Who conquers all my fears.A friend Who's constant and so near - He's always there, He's always there. When my faith seems small and weak, then His promises I'll seek. And through His Word, I'll hear Him speak. He's always there. He's always there. For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. He's always there.Oh, how wonderful to know that my Father loves me so.No matter where on earth I go, He's always there, He's always there. And when my journey here's complete, I'll worship at my Savior's feet. Forever in that land so sweet. He's always there. He's always there.  For every hour of every day, He'll walk beside you all the way. For every minute that passes by, throughout your life, He will abide. There's not a moment that He's not there to guide your steps and show His care.So take it to the Lord in prayer, He's always there. Small Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533673 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 134 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3037307. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533673). Symphony No. 3, “Ave Maris Stella†(2005) was written for the Duquesne ContemporaryEnsemble and is dedicated to composer David Stock. Throughout his career, Stock has beena tireless and generous advocate on behalf of new music and living composers. This work isdedicated to him in tribute – as both an important American composer and a significantcontributor to America’s contemporary musical life. The work’s basic source material is the plainchant Ave maris stella (“Hail, star of the seaâ€) –appropriate because of Duquesne’s standing and history as a Catholic university. When thecomposition of this work first began, the original plan was for a celebratory and vibrant piece. As the planning progressed, however, personal circumstances intervened and began to changethe work’s tone – becoming substantially bleaker and more obsessive. The title of the first movement, Pentimento, is defined as “an underlying image in a painting,as an earlier painting, that shows through when the top layer of paint has become transparentwith age.†The melodic and harmonic material for the movement is entirely drawn from theplainchant source, although it is completely transformed and covered up – as in a pentimento. At various points, one can begin to hear the original plainchant “peek out†in subtle ways. The opening section of the movement obsesses again and again on what sounds like a“beginning†– as though it is trying to begin again and again. After a brief bassoon cadenza, afast and driving section starts, marked “sinister.†After driving through a series oftransformations on the plainchant material, a bridge passage leads to further attempts at the“beginning†again. Finally, these attempts are given up, and the plainchant material (theunderlying layer) begins to show through quietly – in preparation for the next movement. In the second movement, Interrupted Motet, the plainchant theme is used in a morestraightforward fashion. After the opening declamatory statements, the following sectionsmove between more free developmental techniques, based on the first movement’stransformations, and “motet†sections – using cantus firmus methods and textures fromRenaissance music. The tone and palate is, however, much darker and more obsessive. There is a brooding ponderousness to these contrapuntal developments. The final motetsection ends in a rageful shout, the plainchant material is presented again in full force, and thepent-up energy dissipates to the close.FluteOboeClarinet in BbBass Clarinet in BbBassoonHorn in F/BbTrumpet in CTrombonePercussion (1 player):tubular bells, vibraphone(Percussionist needs one rosined bow for vibraphone.)PianoViolin IViolin IIViolaCelloContrabass(single strings)This is the complete set of parts.  The full score and the individual parts are avaialbe as seperate items.

Broadway,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Musical/Show. Score. 5 pages. Sherman Theatrical Entertainment Ltd. #117898. Published by Sherman Theatrical Entertainment Ltd. (A0.529592). That's Something! is front he musical Bumblescratch and is a recitative sung by “Perryâ€, a young plague rat who is dealing with intense, unfamiliar and deeply contradictory emotions. Having recently fallen in love with “Thamesa†(a human girl), Perry becomes enraged when “Melbourne†attempts to stop the relationship. Melbourne explains that a human girl can only mean trouble for a rat but Perry doesn’t want to hear any of it. As the song progresses however, Perry acknowledges that Melbourne is only looking out for his best interest. Finally though, Perry’s feelings for Thamesa win out. Ultimately Perry resolves to continue the relationship. This is an excellent audition song for a young performer as it allows the singer to express three radically different emotional states, all in one (fairly brief) piece. Vocal arrangements are available for both young male and female voices. When printing, please scale to fit for standard US Letter and A4 size.

Concert Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1428591 Composed by J. Pierpoint. Arranged by Callie Mae / Brian Harris. Christmas,Holiday,Instructional. 33 pages. HMS Music #1009365. Published by HMS Music (A0.1428591). _____________________________________________________________________________As a middle school band director, I was always happy when all my beginners were able to play Jingle Bells in unison and with a decent sound.. But I also had a number of players who could move faster and play more challenging rhythms and notes than others. What to do? How about a simple arrangement with flexible part assignments?JINGLE THOSE BELLS! is a super-easy setting of Jingle Bells. The work opens with the traditional unison rendition of the melody, as found in almost every beginner band method book ever written. But then, after a brief pause, the melody is repeated, but now faster and with the addition of a bass line and rhythmic accompaniment. The rhythmic accompaniment is provided by several of your best clarinet, sax, and trumpet players who play the Advanced Part. And if you are short on bass voice instruments, you can utilize the optional bass parts for Alto Sax. Super flexible and a bit humorous, it takes a little score study to realize how adaptable this piece is. Guaranteed to work with your beginners! (PS: the printed music shows Callie May, our cat, as arranger. I gave her credit so my wife could play more than one piece by me at her holiday concerts without looking too biased! Consider pairing this work with another one of my super-easy beginner band works - JOY TO THE KING  – also available online here).NOTE: this Digital Download is assembled with the Advanced Clarinet parts appearing as page 1 so you may view it on the web site as you listen to the sound file. When you download/print the full document (33 pages, total), the first page to print will be the Clarinet part, followed by the FULL SCORE, then the remaining PARTS. Also included is permission for a band director to make as many copies as needed for their school. This permission is not extended to individuals . . . only to schools.  Now you can let the kids keep their music - and just print (legally!) new parts each year!  (BcP-YB) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -COMPOSER: Now retired, Brian Harris holds the Ph.D. in Music Education from the Florida State University and was a band director for over 30 years at both the public school and college level. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Click here to view other Winter / Christmas Concert works from Bandroom.com Publications:Joy to the King (for beginners)Jingle Those Bells! C Instrument - Digital Download SKU: A0.662483 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Andre Maaker. Classical,Romantic Period,Wedding. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. SheetMusicHub #271549. Published by SheetMusicHub (A0.662483). This is a lead sheet style (melody/chords/form) notation of Salute d'Amour (Liebesgruß) Op. 12 by Edward Elgar. From Wikipedia: Elgar finished the piece in July 1888, when he was romantically involved with Caroline Alice Roberts, and he called it Liebesgruss ('Love's Greeting') because of Miss Roberts' fluency in German. On their engagement she had already presented him with a poem The Wind at Dawn which he set to music and, when he returned home to London on 22 September from a holiday at the house of his friend Dr. Charles Buck in Settle, he gave her Salut d'Amour as an engagement present. The dedication was in French: à Carice. Carice was a combination of his wife's names Caroline Alice, and was the name to be given to their daughter born two years later. It was published a year later by Schott & Co., a German publisher, with offices in Mainz, London, Paris and Brussels. The first published editions were for violin and piano, piano solo, cello and piano, and for small orchestra. Few copies were sold until Schott changed the title to Salut d'Amour with Liebesgruss as a sub-title, and the composer's name as 'Ed. Elgar'. The French title, Elgar realised, would help the work to be sold not only in France but in other European countries. The first public performance was of the orchestral version, at a Crystal Palace concert on 11 November 1889, conducted by August Manns. The first recording of that version was made in 1915 for The Gramophone Company with an orchestra conducted by the composer. As a violin-and-piano piece Salut d'Amour had been recorded for The Gramophone & Typewriter Ltd (predecessor to The Gramophone Company) as early as 1901 by Jacques Jacobs, leader/director of the Trocadero Restaurant orchestra. Auguste van Biene recorded a cello transcription in 1907..

Published by César Zumel (A0.940013). The already well know Gatto nel blue belongs to the child memory of many people now between 45 and 60. They listened this song in italian, portuguese and spanish. When you try to sing it you will go back to the music of the 70's, where the melody and the lyric were plenty of energy, plenty of emotion, feelings,...basically plenty. The arrange is soft enough not to disturbe to the melody. It is posible to sing with an electrical bass, and a bit of percusion mainly at the end, just when the second chorus appear.

Jazz Combo - Digital Download SKU: A0.979642 Composed by Roger Aldridge. Blues,Jazz. Score and parts. 1 pages. Roger Aldridge #432833. Published by Roger Aldridge (A0.979642). A slow, soulful blues for those times when we need to play a slow, soulful blues. The title comes from a day when I was reflecting upon lost ancient civilizations and wondering about their music. What did the music sound like? Did the musicians back then have steady gigs? This is a fairly conventional 12-bar blues, however it has some interesting quirks. The 4th bar has a sustained C with V7 (#9) chords moving chromatically upwards against it. In terms of conventional harmony, the C is a wrong note on several of the chords (like the Db7). The chord changes have reharmonization in several places. The ending, with a shift to major 7th chords, is unusual for a blues.
