Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402228 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Kamada, Mikio. Baroque. 19 pages. ACORDO Sheet Music #985435. Published by ACORDO Sheet Music (A0.1402228). Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) is a famous piece for the organ. Surprisingly, it wasn't very popular when Bach was alive. It was first published in 1833 by Felix Mendelssohn in a collection called noch wenig bekannte Orgelcompositinen. Mendelssohn performed it in 1840, which made it more well-known. This piece is different from Bach's later works in style and composition; for example, the fugue is relatively simple. Music expert Peter Williams suggested in his 2003 book The Organ Music of J. S. Bach that it might have originally been written for solo violin. Following his idea, some people tried to adapt it for solo violin, with some versions in A minor based on his suggestion. While it's unsure if Williams' idea is correct, it implies that this piece might work well for string instruments. We decided to arrange it for a Violin and Viola Duet, trying to stay close to the original organ version. However, because of technical reasons, we had to remove some parts. Our first arrangement was liked at a small concert in 2022. During this, we realized that the music could be good for string ensembles. We also found that removing some notes made the remaining ones stand out, sometimes making a special beauty. This suggests that the music might have been meant for string instruments originally. We first planned to publish this arrangement in 2020, but we changed our minds. We wanted as many people as possible to enjoy this wonderful piece, so we decided to publish two versions. Version 1 is similar to the organ score, sounding familiar but being technically hard. In contrast, Version 2 skips some notes, making it easier technically. Players will still experience the unique beauty of string ensembles with intentional note removal. The choice between the two depends on what players prefer and their skill level. To help players understand better, we've used colored notes. Different colors show different voices, helping players know each instrument's role. In Version 2, green notes show parts where both instruments play the same thing. While these notes are optional, playing them will help synchronize the two parts.Turning pages can be hard because there aren't many rests. We suggest using a tablet or arranging music stands side by side with all six pages in a row. If that's not possible, we suggest connecting pages 1-3 and 4-6 horizontally with cardboard. Put pages 1-3 in front and 4-6 in the back. For specific instructions during the piece:- The Violin plays the Viola part in bar 74, shown by solid parentheses. Turn the page after playing the third beat of bar 75 and don't play the Violin part in bar 76 (marked with dashed brackets), as the Viola will play it.- The Viola turns the page right after playing bar 73. Instead of playing the part in dashed parentheses in bar 74 (which the Violin will play), play the Violin part of bar 75 (marked with actual parentheses).

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869118 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Latin. Score and parts. 16 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #1914305. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869118). Morango ... almost a tango (1983) is the most popular piece of music from my portfolio of over 150 works!!! It is amazing that the work was conceived thirty years ago!!! Originally, it was just a 32-bar jazz tune I performed every Sunday night with the Moon Unit at the 1369 Jazz Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1980-1984. The string quartet version, although written for the Kronos Quartet, was premiered at Concert X by the Composers in Red Sneakers in Sanders Theater, Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1983. The Red Sneakers String Quartet comprised of Thal Aylward, Melissa Howe, Frank Grimes and Sandy Kiefer. Richard Buell reported in the Boston Globe a few days later that the doleful Morango ... almost a tango got a lot of mileage out of a stubborn, almost unchanging cello line and the elaborations above it. The original program note read, Last summer in Vermont I met Gustavo Moretto, an Argentine composer, who taught me the finer and more beautiful aspects of the Tango. In my modest way, as someone looking in from the outside, I created Morango ... almost a tango - a bastardized version of the 'real thing.' Morango ... is also intrinsically connected to Kate Moran, a sometimes painter ... to whom it is dedicated. The work is played con sordino throughout. I hope the sirens next door don't intrude too much. But then again, John Cage would be delighted. Eventually, the Kronos got around to performing it on tour in Europe in 1986. When they played it as an encore in Italy at the American Academy in Rome, Mya Tannenbaum of the Corriere Della Sera wrote, Non sono mancati i bis. Un richiamo al sex appeal del vecchio tango da parte di un giovane «premio Roma», Tom Lee. Soon after, back in the States, the Kronos performed it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. John Rockwell wrote in the New York Times, ... a soulfully beautiful score by Thomas Oboe Lee. Three months later the Kronos recorded it on their Nonesuch CD, White Man Sleeps. Many other string quartets, both here and abroad, have since added the work to their repertory. The Lydian String Quartet, especially, have taken the work on their concert tours in the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union. It appears on a CD recorded by the Lyds in Moscow on MCA Classics. As interest in the work grew, other ensembles have requested arrangements of Morango ... There are now three other versions of the work: one for big band jazz ensemble by Ken Schaphorst, another for string orchestra commissioned by Aram Gharabekian and Sinfonova, and the third for violin and piano commissioned by the Paul Chou-Paul Salerni Duo. Of the string orchestra version, Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe wrote, Lee's piece, Morango ... almost a tango, is a transcription of atmospheric and elegant music originally composed for string quartet; it is as sultry as Faith Domergue in a film noir, and it steams. String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1511019 Composed by Fredrik Pacius(1809-1891). Arranged by Keith Terrett. Instructional,Multicultural,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional,World. 8 pages. Keith Terrett #811977. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1511019). An arrangement for String Orchestra of the national anthem of Finland. There are also versions for Brass Quintet & Symphony Orchestra in my two stores.Maamme (Finnish: [?m??m?e]) or Vårt land (Finland Swedish: [?vo?rt ?l?n?d]; both meaning Our Land) is Finland's national anthem. The music was composed by the German immigrant Fredrik Pacius, with (original Swedish) words by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, and with this music it was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. Originally it was written for the 500th anniversary of Porvoo and for that occasion it was Runeberg himself who wrote the music. The poem has been influenced by the Szózat (Appeal) of Mihály Vörösmarty, both in style and content.[The melody of Maamme is also used for the national anthem of Estonia with a similarly themed text, Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm (My Fatherland, My Happiness and Joy, 1869).It is also considered to be the ethnic anthem for the Livonians as Min iz?m? (My Fatherland). The original poem, written in 1846 but not printed until 1848, had 11 stanzas and formed the prologue to the verse cycle The Tales of Ensign Stål (Fänrik Ståhls Sägner), a classic example of Romantic nationalism. The current Finnish language text is usually attributed to the 1889 translation of Ensign Stål by Paavo Cajander, but in fact originates from the 1867 translation by Julius Krohn. The Tales of Ensign Stål were much appreciated throughout all of Scandinavia. Up until the time of Finland's independence in 1917 and 1918, when the song began to be recognized as specifically applying to Finland, Pacius's tune and Runeberg's text were often also sung in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Note that in the original Swedish text there is no reference to Finland (except for in verses 4 and 10, which are rarely sung), only to a country in the north, but the Finnish text explicitly refers to Finland. The poem's theme is, furthermore, remarkably similar to that of the national anthems of Sweden (Du gamla, Du fria) and Norway (Ja, vi elsker dette landet).[citation needed]There is no law regarding an official national anthem in Finland, in the way the coat of arms and flag of Finland are legally defined. Instead its position has been established gradually by convention over the years.Today, Maamme is firmly established by convention. Children learn it in school; in formal occasions it is sung both in Finnish and in Swedish. It is played at sporting events, such as the Olympics. In the 1880s and in the 1920s there were more attempts to replace it with a Finnish language version but these ceased by the 1930s. Some Finns have proposed that the Finnish national anthem be changed to Finlandia by Jean Sibelius, with lyrics by V.A. Koskenniemi (Finnish) and Joel Rundt (Swedish). There are also those who simply prefer Finlandia as a musical piece, although critics claim that it is difficult to sing.[citation needed]It is said that Pacius composed the tune in four days. It was popular throughout the 19th century, but established as national anthem only after Pacius' death. The melody of Maamme has similarities with the German drinking song Papst und Sultan. Many believe that Fredrik Pacius intentionally or unintentionally copied parts of the tune. Another Finnish patriotic song, Sotilaspoika, composed by Pacius, also includes similarities with Papst und Sultan.[citation needed]During 1993, an instrumental version of Maamme was used as Finnish professional wrestler Tony Halme's (under the ring name Ludvig Borga) entrance theme Love anthems, then join me on twitter, facebook, instagram & soundcloud for updates.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.908188 Composed by Rebecca Maughan Cook. Contemporary,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Rebecca Maughan Cook #6873209. Published by Rebecca Maughan Cook (A0.908188). This wonderful Sonatina is in 3 movements for the intermediate flutist.  It is a finalist for the 2022 New Voices for Young Flutists competition.  Set in the band friendly Key of B-flat major, Movement 1 is a Classical Sonata Allegro Form with an accessible flute part and a piano part that makes it BIG!   It's called 'Clockworks' because of the type of clock sounds used, especially in the piano part. The range for the flutist is Low A to High D.    Movement 2 is called 'Time for Caring.'  I wrote the melody I wanted to play.  It's lovely and makes you want to develop an even more beautiful sound.  It's range is Low F to High D with a fast scale going from Low F up to mid B-flat.   This is also in the Key of B-flat.   The 3rd Movement is also in the Key of B-flat.  I called it 'Time to Grow.'  It's rhythm is in 8/8, usually divided into 3+3+2, although there are a few measures where it is easier for the flutist to think of it in 2+2+2+2.   It has a lot of drive in the rhythm and I think has a Broadway kind of sound, as if people were moving and walking across a busy stage while singing.  I'm uploading a recording of this which I hope you enjoy!  The piano part is much more challenging.  Each of these movements is accessible, musical, interesting and when paired with the accompaniment a full ensemble kind of sound.   Enjoy!

David Warin Solomons #863477. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1271084). Here is my 1976 Oratorio on Winnie the Pooh (Poohratorio) for alto voice, spoken parts, guitar and various optional other instrumentsGreat fun for young and old. It uses the whole of Chapter 8 of A A Milne's Now we are six -The expotition to the North Pole, which is now in the public domain in the USA.CHAPTER 8 ...IN WHICH CHRISTOPHER ROBIN LEADS AN EXPOTITION TO THE NORTH POLEONE fine day Pooh had stumped to the top of the Forest to see if his friend Christopher Robin was interested in Bears at all. At breakfast that morning (a simple meal of marmalade spread lightly over a honeycomb or two) he had suddenly thought of a new song. It began like this:Sing Ho! For the life of a Bear. When he had got as far as this, he scratched his head, and thought to himself That's a very good start for a song, but what about the second line? He tried singing Ho, two or three times, but it didn't seem to help. Perhaps it would be better, he thought, if I sang Hi for the life of a Bear. So he sang it . . . but it wasn't. Very well, then, he said, I shall sing that first line twice, and perhaps if I sing it very quickly, I shall find myself singing the third and fourth lines before I have time to think of them, and that will be a Good Song. Now then:Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! I don't much mind if it rains or snows, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice new nose! I don't much care if it snows or thaws, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice clean paws! Sing Ho! for a Bear! Sing Ho! for a Pooh! And I'll have a little something in an hour or two! He was so pleased with this song that he sang it all the way to the top of the Forest, ... etc.

Guitar - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1175289 Composed by Brian Streckfus. Instructional. Guitar Tab. 5 pages. Brian Streckfus #774500. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1175289). Pages: 5 (84 chords to name)Objective:Instead of learning chords one by one, you instead learn how to build chords yourself. Also, this mindset helps in composing, because instead of seeing things as wrong chord versus correct chord, you simply see it as every harmony as a name. Like many things in life, theoritcal concepts can allow you to formulate thousands of outcomes in a single day. Tips:1. You start counting from 0 for this exercise if that makes any sense. Avoid the common fence post error by overcounting by 1. Other times you start counting from 1 in music is when talking about scale degrees. What is the distance from C to E? C(0) C#(1) D(2) D#(3) E(4).2. Use the chromatic scale at the top to help in counting.3. E# = F...Fb = E...B# = C...Cb = B...In otherwords, don't let strange enharmonics confuse you. Picture the black key sometimes missing between white keys on a piano in your mind if it helps. 4. Even though enharmonics like E# can seem confusing, they can actually add clarity sometimes because they cause the chord to stack perfectly in the sheet music and letter names. A# C# E#...versus...A# C# F...Sure, F is easier to understand in a part, but it actually makes the harmony harder to understand because not it looks like it isn't 3rds, even though it is.5. I included tab just to make this worksheet a little bit more interesting; however, the guitar chords that result are NOT practical. Voicings of common guitar chords are much more spread out, and often contain more duplicate letter names. Practical guitar chords is sort of a different conversation. I sort of did this intentionally to prove that perfectly stacked voicings do not work well on guitar. C E G Bb perfectly in order in harmony, sounds like it would be easy on guitar, but it is not.6. To make this more practical on guitar, I recommend building the chords yourself by simply knowing letter names well on guitar. The next time something asks for G major, don't just play a common voicing, actually find G B D randomly on the guitar neck. 7. Often the fifth of a chord is removed since it is the least important to invoking the flavor of the chord. This is especially true on guitar because we quickly run out of fingers and strings.8. The nature of the piano lends pianists to constantly seeing these distances on a linear plane. Conversely, guitar is a very murky instrument since the real distances of pitches is counterintuitive to arbitrary (usually) fret numbers! That is why many guitarists would benefit from thinking this way, instead of thinking of chords simply as shapes (which is also important for different reasons). In other words, try to build a chord on one string on guitar. It is impractical, but the half step distances required for chords will make much more sense. To Do:1. Slight differences in how the sheet look need to be made similiar.2. Remove green line.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.992361 Composed by Tim Fatchen. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 15 pages. Flying Tadpole Productions #6210807. Published by Flying Tadpole Productions (A0.992361). ALT.CALLAHANS REEL(which is actually a Slide, with a Reel interlude!)  Fast  and lively foot-tapping neo-Celtic, at its best on electronic keyboard but also  a fun piano solo.  (Duration 8+ minutes)  Reel Jiggery-pokery The  song started as a jig but drank too much and reeled into 12/8 time. Properly  speaking, despite its strong 4-beat pulse, it's a Slide. Or perhaps a Double Jig. Except for the mid-section, which is really a Reel!  Needless to say, this is not for the  purists...but it's huge fun for the rest of us!  Playing and Performing We've marked it Advanced Intermediate. It's the indicated speed which makes demands!  But you can play it slower and enjoy! On  electronic or MIDI keyboard, use a percussive/plucked foundation (e.g. piano,  harp, faux guitar) with a sustained string patch (string ensemble, synth strings, viola works well, fiddle works well, most violin patches are  terrible!). For piano, you'll have to use more of the sustain pedal but not too much or it'll go all muddy on you, just like a mis-step in an Irish bog! (Original  live and YouTube performances were on a Medeli MC 710, from 2005.  This keyboard allowed splitting and dual voices. Piano was used as foundation both above and below the split point. A  loud viola patch was used as the second voice on the upper part of the  keyboard, as the dominant fiddle sound carrying the melody.  A synth string patch was used  as second voice on the lower half, giving  the drones.)  Add Your Own Salt and Pepper to the Score! The  song is scored for clarity, not as a detailed demand for every possible  nuance.  It's fast, so although simple  to look at when not playing,  you'll  need to be reading the music at speed. Unless, of course, you're blessed with a  brilliant memory!   So  the score isn't cluttered with ornaments and fiddly bits, or lots of expression marks. Especially, it's not cluttered by a lot of suspended notes.  BUT...you will need to suspend a lot of notes as you play. Think drones running all over the place and use your  keyboard sustaining string patches to bring those drones out!  Listen to the live recordings, they'll  help.  You,  as player, have lots of freedom!  It's up to you how many additional frills, or emphasis, or drone  suspensions you throw in.  Why alt.callahans? In the far distant past of 2005, there was  an Internet  newsgroup of that name, in honor and emulation of  Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, a fictional bar with strongly community-minded and empathic clientele, part of the fictional universe of American writer  Spider Robinson. [Wikipedia]  A  place for tall tales and true, comradeship, puns both good and bad.  We had fun there, and this song came out of  it. The Internet world, sadly, has changed since.

Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Score. 4 pages. Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) #745983. Published by Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) (A0.1145782). Mandy is a romantic song that has had several versions. It was recorded for the first time in 1971, with the title Brandy by Scott English, however, it achieved popularity with the version of the American Barry Manilow in 1974, being his first song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and his first golden song.12 In 1992 Italian music producer Marco Parmigiani produced a Eurodance version on 12-inch vinyl. It was released in Italy on the Disc-O-Very Records label, and a year later it was published in Spain on the mythical Barcelona label Max Music. The version sounded a lot in the Valencian discos of the 90s. It was later re-recorded by the Irish group Westlife in 2003, becoming the number one version of the UK chart. The song also appeared in several movies, such as Can't Hardly Wait, being performed by various characters. One theory is that because of Manilow's alcoholism, Brandy became Mandy. Scott English is thought to have written Brandy after his favorite dog that he let get away. English claimed (as quoted in The Billboard Book of Number One Adult Contemporary Hits) that an assistant phoned him early that morning to ask who Brandy was, and he angrily lied that it was a dog so that she would conversation will end quickly. When Manilow recorded Mandy he was not satisfied with the electronic rhythm of the original English version, so he preferred to sing it as a ballad and was much more pleased with the results. The song was parodied on Gift Grub under the title Andy on The Drew Carey Show, where the name Mandy is replaced with Kyra. Who also performed a parody of Mandy was the German singer LaFee at the age of 13. Thanks to this imitation, called Handy, it was that a music producer discovered her in a singing contest for children in Germany. Korean actor, singer and model Jang Keun Suk sings this song during the movie You are my pet It also appeared in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (originally aired November 2006), and in an episode of The Simpsons, Homer sings it to Margo as Oh, Margo. Years later, in an episode of Family Guy, Manilow himself sings Gregg a version of his song, Oh, Quagmire..

Published by THEMIS KOUTRAS (A0.1066608). This is when i studied the holy bible from the time i got up to the time i went to bed for years i must have read it 1000 x or even more anyway it was at the time i remembered the scripture saying in the future says the LORD i shall write and pin thy word (law) in there hearts so i said cool lord may i ask you for that gift? instantly GOD knocks me out without any pain and i had a dream i saw him put the holy bible in my mind and heart from then on i new it all off by heart ye true but Satan hated the gift GOD gave me and coursed me to forget it all i was tempted like no other i only new GOD EXISTED and Satan was his enemy i had forgotten it everything else Satan appears to me saying the same temptation he said to GOD SON and offered me to be king of all the cosmos i said no way Satan i rather be in poverty then a king against GOD i said no no way and said i will war with you Satan for if you are GODS enemy you are also my enemy i also said what JESUS CHRIST said to him not remembering the holy bible at all by nature the holy spirit withing me gave me this song as i wrote it after i finished i sang it to GOD as i remembered about his son i sang it to him also after i finished singing i then was helped by GOD and remembered the holy bible ones again i said wait one moment this song is coming from the book of revelation and true it dose i said how did GOD son knew about me and that i will write this so many centuries before my time? this strengthened me to know he knows all things and said thank you to him so on Satan still gets me to forget it all from time to time and tempts me but i pass by the help of the holy spirit he then helps me remember again thanking him now
