Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1120562 By Kathleen Ryan. By Adolphe-Charles Adam. Arranged by Kathleen Ryan. Christmas,Classical,Holiday,Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Indigo Mesa Music LLC #721807. Published by Indigo Mesa Music LLC (A0.1120562). “He appeared and the soul felt its worth.†Kathleen Ryan's arrangement of the French religious song by Adolphe Adam, performed on her Christmas album, The Rebirth of Light. Kathleen's notes: Again, preferring silence to constant motion. I’ll confess that I was not inclined to record this piece. My husband really wanted it included on The Rebirth of Light, but I resisted because I had first heard it sung by a soprano with super-warbly vibrato. I thought the song was sort of tacky, although I did recognize that the tackiness came from the singing and not from the music itself. When I explained all this to him, he pointed out that any arrangement I created would never be “tacky†and that it wouldn’t have warbly vibrato either! I promised to play with it and just hear what I could create. I started with a sort of American Methodist hymnal 4–part chordal arrangement. And then the rolled chords appeared and away I went! Lyrical, spacious, spiritual. Suitable for use in church.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.790173 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ludwig van Beethoven. Classical,Concert. Score. 17 pages. Diamond S Music #5755359. Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790173). Rondo a Capriccio in G Major, Op.129 - Rage Over A Lost Penny - Beethoven - Piano Solo.  The Rondo alla ingharese quasi un capriccio in G major, Op. 129 is a piano rondo by Ludwig van Beethoven. It is better known by the title Rage Over a Lost Penny, Vented in a Caprice. This title appears on the autograph manuscript, but not in Beethoven's hand, and has been attributed to his friend Anton Schindler. It is a favorite with audiences and is frequently performed as a showpiece. Robert Schumann wrote of the work that it would be difficult to find anything merrier than this whim... It is the most amiable, harmless anger, similar to that felt when one cannot pull a shoe from off the foot, citing the work as an instance of Beethoven's earthliness against those fixated upon a transcendental image of the composer. This new edition also contains a brief biography of Beethoven, some historical information about the piece, and a facsimile of a portion of the original manuscript.  Other similar arrangements and selections from DIAMOND S MUSIC available at: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/diamond-s-music/6940

Jmsgu3 #3468180. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549222). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.   Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.   Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands            Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival                Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics, essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed pieces, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.

Introduction of Op.3 No.10-12 by In Son Zeng:Op.3 No.1-12 is composed by In Son Zeng (from Macau) to cater to a variety of musical tastes and skill levels, offering a diverse range of experiences for the player.Op. 3 No. 10 How Beautiful the CountrysideThe tenth song in Op.3 uses an old country musical style. It depicts a gently flowing river, which does not create large ripples throughout the day, yet the surroundings are so beautiful that one cannot help but be captivated! The entire piece extensively designs two voice parts at the higher range. The upper voice often features non-legato triplets, while the left-hand employs a fixed rhythm common in country music, enhancing the picturesque scenery that the music evokes.Op. 3 No. 11 Charming New OrleansThe eleventh song is composed in a New Orleans jazz style that traces back to the origin of Jazz music! Being one of the ancestors of jazz, it poetically and lyrically reflects a refined lifestyle. This music is a great companion to the beauty of nature: listening to the relaxed, old-style jazz while strolling through a New Orleans park is truly invigorating! The entire piece is written in A-flat major and is divided into two short sections, both in an AA format (where the two sections are similar but differ in chord density). When practicing, it is important to prepare for an increase in intensity and atmosphere one measure before transitioning into the second section.Op. 3 No. 12 Summer SunThe twelfth song, in terms of jazz style, is a lively Boogie Woogie piece. Playing this music conjures images of people in bikinis dancing rhythmically on the beaches of Macedonia, surrounded by enthusiastic beach-loving tourists. The bustling crowd adds vibrant color to the hot summer beach. The entire piece is written in E-flat major and is also divided into two short sections in an AA format. During practice, there is a breathe and relax moment one measure before transitioning to the second section. It is important to play with a sense of relaxation at that point, followed by an augmented chord leading into the next section.

This is the second of eight waltzes I composed between September 2020 and April 2024. This was the second waltz I wrote, and the second during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a gentle piece with a sense of a dream-like dance. The form is A-B-A'-A-Coda. It starts off in D and centers around the key of D, until the end, when the Coda transports the listener to an ending in G. Think of it like the dancers in the dream disappearing from sight.Regarding articulation: I use tenuto and accent + tenuto marks frequently in my compositions. I tend to use them mostly as indications for the melody and/or notes that should be emphasized or brought out. I never intend the accent + tenuto to be harsh, but it should be stronger than the tenuto alone.I intend to have a collection of all eight waltzes available for sale in addition to individual pieces. The available recording on Arrange Me and Sheet Music Plus is an export from Finale – not a live performance. Note, Finale did not keep the tempo consistent throughout. Do not slow down in the B section staring in mm. 13.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!Gerald Gabbard.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.It was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. Inspiration for the song came to Lennon from a television commercial for Kellogg's Corn Flakes.Another reference to contemporary television was the lyric It's time for tea and Meet the Wife, referring to the BBC sitcom. Lennon himself was critical of the track. It's a throwaway, a piece of garbage, I always thought, he once said. I always had the TV on very low in the background when I was writing, and it came over, and then I wrote the songThe song is played at 117 beats per minute, has an unusual rhythmic feel, and uses different time signatures. Beats are played in groups of 2, 3 and 4, and time signature changes frequently. Parts with 5/4 and 4/4 bars alternate, with 3/4 transitions. Most of the song uses simple time, where the beats are divided into two, but the middle eight sections use compound time, where the beats are divided into triplets.YouTube vid is my brass quartet arrangement.

Ralph Raymond Hays #6273195. Published by Ralph Raymond Hays (A0.720743). Created by one of SMP's top arrangers, this captivating setting will highlight a recital or Worship Service during Lent, on Easter, or throughout the year. Masterful counterpoint, exquisite harmonies, and innovative rhythmic nuances bring a contemporary perspective to one of Christendom's most beloved masterworks. The Old Rugged Cross was my Papa's favorite hymn. Although it was played and sung at his funeral, my most vivid memories of it are from summer Friday nights when three generations of my family would convene around the piano in my grandparents' living room. My Nana would play through the Reader's Digest Songbook of Family Faith and Joy from cover to cover as the rest of sang -- improvising harmonies and blending our voices as only family can. We each had our favorites (it will surprise no one that mine was Climb Ev'ry Mountain) and it was obvious by how he sang a bit stronger and more fervently each time, that this was Papa's. With cherished recollections to guide me, I strove to embody the joy and warmth of those gatherings in this arrangement.- Ralph Raymond Hays

These studies are specifically designed for non-professional orchestras, although any orchestra will improve by playing some of these pieces during rehearsals. It is always necessary to pay attention to intonation and many other aspects of orchestral performance. In addition, these studies are also useful for orchestral conducting students. For example, it is essential to know how to conduct a simultaneous attack of a chord that does not begin on the first beat, but a eighth note after the third beat.I began writing these studies around 2013, when I took over the direction of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft and noticed the complete absence of repertoire of this kind. As a pianist, I am accustomed to studies by Carl Czerny or playing scales. Each individual instrumentalist knows studies of technique for their instrument. However, there are no, or at least I am not aware of, similar studies for orchestral performance technique and the specific difficulties of ensemble playing that it requires. The cycle Orchestraining aims to fill this gap.The sixth etude focuses on the difficult subject of harmonics in the strings. In the classical repertorire, harmonics are not so present as other orchestral colors. There fore, it is particularly difficult to find repertory to train them.
