Choral Choir (SA) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.982532 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Paul J. Zappa. Children. Octavo. 7 pages. Paul Zappa sr. #3480687. Published by Paul Zappa sr. (A0.982532). This two part spiritual for Childrens' voices seems to be a tune that they have fun singing. The piece can be sung concert style or it could be done with movement. It has been done with girls taking one part and boys taking the other. It can be performed as a duet or in a large group situation. The difficulty is when the parts sing harmony (duh?), but with some practice this problem is easily overcome. The piano accompaniment is a little difficult to co-ordinate if the director is also the pianist. It works with either a string bass playing the bottom line of the accomp. (Better yet if there is a Bass player can improvise . No one has been listed as composer. Its listing is An African American Spiritual.

Although it was originally known as a ‘Russian- Romani’ folksong, at the beginning of the Twentieth Century, it achieved a much wider international reputation when Italian-born British composer, Adalgiso Ferraris, published a new version in 1910. It was also later sung and recorded by Al Bowlly in 1939. It has also gained some currency as a jazz tune.

Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1157792 Composed by Phil Thrift. Latin,Pop. 17 pages. Phil Thrift #758124. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.1157792). Are You The One? is an original composition initially written for trombone quartet (listen to it on SoundCloud). With a few modifications, it also works well for clarinets. The piece is not technically difficult; the real challenge will be accurate playing, maintaining that bossa nova feel without a rhythm section. Your bass clarinet player will need to keep driving this piece forward. It will be ideal as a lighter number between other more demanding pieces in a concert program. Are You The One? is actually a song, so treat it as such. Each player should “sing†the melody lines when they have them! And, as usual in my pieces, every player has the lead at some point.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1308584 By Frederick Delius. By Frederick Delius. Arranged by Flavio Regis Cunha. 19th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV. Score and Parts. 26 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #897825. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.1308584). Another of Delius’s best-known works falls into the same category as The Walk to the Paradise Garden, being an interlude from an opera that is now rarely heard in full. Koanga predates A Village Romeo and Juliet by just four years and comes from the composer’s Bohemian years in Paris during the 1890s. Delius himself considered it his best opera to date. It was his third after Irmelin and The Magic Fountain and it drew on his experiences in the orange groves of Florida. The hero of the opera, Koanga, is an African prince and voodoo priest, now working as a slave on a Mississippi plantation. Delius incorporated a traditional Martinique dance from the seventeenth century into the plot, for which he wrote a small musical interlude, borrowing from something he had written earlier in his first orchestral work, the Florida Suite. When his trusty companion and scribe Eric Fenby arranged the interlude for orchestra in 1938 – some forty years later – it quickly became another hardy perennial on concert programmes up and down the land.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999010 Composed by Antonio Tudurí. Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Antonio Tuduri #6139293. Published by Antonio Tuduri (A0.999010). This suite has been composed in baroque style. This suite is a piano version of the original composed for violin solo. When I composed the violin version my brain imagined the bass voice thinking the armony strucuture in a natural way.It has been an exercise to demonstrate that, in general, all music can be adapted to other instrment formations. The adaptation of piano version from the violin version has been made separating the armonic elements and creating the left hand voices. The piano player can add slurs, digitation numbers and articulations in order to create its own version.Their movements can be used also as a training studies.Enjoy it !!!.If you play it, please send me an audio file of how it sounds !!!.Tanks in advance !!.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1297229 By Martycli Piano Guy. By Martyn Clive Johnson. Arranged by Martyn Clive Johnson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Country,Jazz,Ragtime. Score. 8 pages. Martyn Johnson #887291. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1297229). I started off writing this as a Country and Western style piece trying to imitate Floyd Kramer with his hammer on/hammer off guitar style piano but it became more ragtime/stride piano as I went along, but you might still detect a little here and there.I haven't included dynamics, fingering or pedalling and leave these to individual choice. No two pianists agree on these things anyway. I have included chord symbols which I always find helpful when learning a piece. It is stride piano and the left hand can be tricky but it is acceptable to leave out intervals of 10ths and octaves etc and just play single notes followed by a chord. Especially for pianists with shorter fingers. Please note this is just a piano transcription for piano solo and doesn't include notation for the other instruments in my YouTube video. It was written to be a piano solo and sounds perfectly full in that context.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183978 Composed by Richard Wagner. Arranged by Langanho. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period,Wedding. 6 pages. Avery Lynn Jordan #783675. Published by Avery Lynn Jordan (A0.1183978). This reduction was made for woodwind quartet and piano with chords, with the intention of being totally practical for musicians of small groups who wish to use it especially at weddings, and not only, can be used for academic or performance purposes, because in it were extracted all the essence of the original work, however, being adapted to be easy to play, serving professional musicians or beginners. The Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner was composed in 1850 as a prelude to the third act of the opera Lohengrin. It is played when Elsa and Lohengrin enter the bridal chamber to consummate their marriage. The wedding night turns tragic, and Wagner is said to have found it amusing that the piece was used at weddings.

Wind ensemble/concert band - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CBW209 Composed by Daniel Baldwin. Score and Parts. 157 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBW209. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW209). 9 x 12 in inches. In the fall of 2013, I was approached by Tyler Goodrich White of the Lincoln Symphony who had heard of my interest in composing a holiday piece featuring the surrounding area's Suzuki students, and he gave me the green light with just a couple of stipulations: one, it had to feature the tunes from the Suzuki book, and also needed to be presented in the same order and in the same keys; and two, it needed to be interesting for the audience and the orchestra. The piece began with those sketches of Suzuki tunes. Interspersed were my original orchestral interludes, what I intended to be a combination of beautiful, dramatic, and playful, with hints of recognizable Christmas tunes woven into the background. Festive Expressions was the resulting composition, which can be performed with or without Suzuki Soloists. It was premiered by Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra on December 7, 2013 with Tyler Goodrich White conducting over 100 Suzuki Soloists on stage. The Wind Ensemble arrangement, Satana Autumn, was created for Fred J. Allen and the Stephen F. Austin State University Wind Ensemble; it was intended as a gift in response to a wonderful piece he wrote for me when I was a public school teacher.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522271 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christmas,Contemporary,Praise & Worship. 13 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #6463439. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522271). Sing! For a Boy has been BornThis is a really lively setting of a colorful text by Danny Alorean. The main theme is in 7/8 time, divided into 2, 2, and 3. It might look a bit daunting to some, but it's easy when counted as 1-2-1-2-1-2-3. Its recommended that singers practise this rhythm first, perhaps by clapping on the off-beats. There’s plenty of contrast in the piece and singers are sure to enjoy the music. It’s scored for SATB choir with keyboard accompaniment. The middle section uses much vocal counterpoint and has almost a waltz feeling to it. Choir members need to be reasonably experienced at singing independent vocal parts. The piano part is of moderate difficulty but could be handled by any competent pianist. This is a new arrangement (as of Seotember 2023) in which the music has been transposed down one tone from the original. This joyful anthem would be a great addition to your Christmas concert or service. The vocal range is as follows: Soprano: C4 - F5; Alto: A3 - D5; Tenor C3 - E flat 4; Bass F2 - B flat 3 (Duration 03:03).

Published by Emily Sue Wood (A0.907122). This intricate piece for solo voice and piano is perfect for a church offertory or any occasion that calls for thoughtful worship music. Vocal pitch ranges from the B below middle C to the G sharp above treble C, and the piano part is intermediate to early advanced in difficulty. The text is based off of Revelation 21 and 22, which describe the New Jerusalem that will come when the world we know passes away. The last part of the text is, It seems like some strange fantasy, like it only exists in my mind. And yet, I know it is real; it just has yet to arrive. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549861 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3557469. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549861). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 10 pages, Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore. Instrumentation: 2 Bb clarinets, 1 alto clarinet, 1 bass clarinet.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival               Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbrevia.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918241 Composed by Emily Nafius. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Pop,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Emily Nafius Music #5994455. Published by Emily Nafius Music (A0.918241). A modern, melodic original composition, suitable for students and advanced musicians alike.Composer’s Note:The Acheron is a river in Greece, but it also has a history in Greek myth. While it is known as a river of woe in connection with the mythical Greek underworld, it can have positive connotations when the underworld is reframed as a place for introspection, transformation, and rebirth. For interested students or teachers, here are a few pedagogical notes:This piece is intended to be performed without pedal, but in a legato style. It has an understated and modern quality that older high school and adult students may enjoy. This can be an opportunity for students to work on playing their eighth notes evenly, to strengthen their left hand by holding down the bass note, and to understand and correctly play hemiola. Only a single, initial dynamic marking is included in the text; this piece can be an exercise in looking at the overall structure and using one’s intuition to shape the phrases. There are a few places where fingering is indicated, but the fingering is mostly left up to the player, so that they can work with their teacher to problem-solve-especially if their hand size is small (like the composer’s). About the Composer:Emily Nafius is a pianist in Southern California with her musical roots in jazz. As a soloist or sideman, she has performed at numerous music venues around California in an eclectic mix of styles, and recorded with a variety of jazz musicians, singer-songwriters, and rock bands. Her work as an accompanist spans classical, jazz, and musical theatre, receiving praise for her theatre work as a pianist and ensemble leader. She has maintained a teaching studio for over fifteen years, instructing musicians of all ages.

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.958467 Composed by Joseph Dillon Ford. 20th Century. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons2 #3691565. Published by David Warin Solomons2 (A0.958467). The Fuga a tre voci was composed on 28 March 1976 not long before I moved from Miami to Cambridge to begin graduate study in music at Harvard. It remained an imperfect sketch in need of extensive revisions, and languished for a quarter-century in a manila file folder until I rediscovered it late in 2001 and was pleased to find that it was worth the trouble of resurrecting. This was no easy task, as it was my original intention to comply closely with eighteenth-century contrapuntal practices. Although I had written numerous polyphonic pieces in a similar style since 1976, none of these was a fugue. There was also the challenge of reconnecting with musical ideas I had originated at the age of twenty-four at a time in my life when I was rapidly approaching the age of fifty. Still, I persevered in my efforts to revive and improve this early polyphonic essay, and hope the performer and listener will be as pleased with the results as I am. This three-voice fugue can be performed by any instrument or combination of instruments, including the harpsichord.

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1490010 Composed by Text: Eden Reeder Latta (1839 - 1915) Tune: Henry Southwick Perkins (1833 -1914. Arranged by Ken Litton. Christian,Lent,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Artist of Note, Inc. #1066874. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1490010). Whiter Than the Snow/Eden Reeder Latta  - Henry Southwick Perkins BLESSED BE THE FOUNTAIN arr. Ken Litton (ASCAP)As an SBC music missionary active in Brazil I quickly discovered the hymns missionaries had taken with them as the work gained impetus from the 1890s when the Bagbys arrived to build on the foundation laid by early pioneers like Solomon Ginsburg. I found myself leading those hymns from the nearly 100 year old Cantor Cristão (Christian Singer) in the strongly attended evening services at the Igreja Batista Rio Doce (Sweet River Baptist Church) in Recife, with people literally leaning in through the windows from outside to sing along. Just a normal p.m. attendance or... curiosity about the missionary leading? No, certainly it was the message of the gospel in these great hymns and in the Brazilians’ creative work as well. I mainly remember holding that small print hymnal in one hand and leading with the other (shaking badly) and singing in Portuguese! From that kind of congregational participation I vividly remember the hymn Blessed be the Fountain by Eden Reeder Latta (1839 - 1915) and Henry Southwick Perkins (1833 -1914) with it’s energetic dotted eighth and sixteenth rhythm figures and text of confession based on Zechariah 13:1. That text was very important in the lives of disciples in Brazil and in my own heart. Here I have used only the verses of the text and tune, simply smoothing out the rhythm and adjusting the lyric to more modern usage (yet preserving the devotional pronouns Thee, Thy and Thine). The tune BLESSED BE THE FOUNTAIN is altered in rhythm, tempo and one descending interval from the original.  The arrangement is by me, having built the intro, interlude and key change as well as the ending from the material that constituted the refrain in the origina. As a bridge and additional textual/musical impulse into the key change and final verse I’ve interpolated the refrain from the well-known gospel hymn Whiter than Snow (FISCHER) by James Nicholson and William G. Fischer. The voices include a wide variety of unison, two-part and four-part passages that are well within the capability of the average church choir. The accompaniment difficulty level is about as minimal as it can be I hope, while still reflecting support for the voices, a measure of variety as well as some real independence.I certainly think choirs of some ability and their dedicated accompanists will enjoyWhiter Than the Snow as much as I have in developing it.
