Concert Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1005127 Composed by Ron Flintjer. Contemporary. Score and parts. 28 pages. Ron Flintjer #6404435. Published by Ron Flintjer (A0.1005127).  Bet you never knew the sound of a train whistle was actually a Diminished 7th Chord! Well, it is, as your band will demonstrate clearly when they play the Chugga Chugga Choo Choo! Watch the eyebrows in your audience go up as they, too, realize the musical nature of that train! After four progressively louder and longer blasts from the Chugga Chugga Choo Choo, the band settles into a jaunty melody, replete with your percussion section providing that rhythmic clackety-clack that put so many cross country passengers to sleep in the heyday of train travel. An ascending scale pushes the train to the top of a hill, and a descending scale brings everyone back down to the plains. Finally, the destination is in sight. As the train slows gradually to a stop at the station, your band members vocalize Chugga Chugga Choo Choo Woo Woo in unison, and everyone can disembark. Scored for Elementary Band, be sure to prep your concert-goers with a hearty, All Aboard, when introducing this piece! .

Small Ensemble Guitar,Hand Percussion - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028579 Composed by Leon deVose, Jr. Christian,Contemporary,Praise & Worship. Score and parts. 25 pages. Leon deVose #6404447. Published by Leon deVose (A0.1028579). I wrote this song when I reunited with an acquaintance I had not seen in about 20 years. She told me about her daughter, Rachel, who was born with two extremely rare diseases. The first is  Subcortical Band Heterotopia.  The other is Lennox Gastaut Syndrome.  The latter, likely consequential to the first, is the more lethal of the two, as it causes severe seizures and is not controlled for long by drugs.  The first, the most devastating and life-affecting is characterized by abnormal brain development which causes this delightful young woman of 25 to be locked in the brain of a pre-pubescent child or younger.Dad has left, and his legal obligation to child support ended in 2019.  In NJ, disability, no matter how severe, only extends the legal child support obligation to age 23.  Of course child support payments cannot possibly fulfill or replace the financial, emotional and moral support needed to care for a child without such severe disability.  How much less when the child has such severe disabilities. All proceeds from sales of this song, including licensing and royalties, will be gifted to Rachel's Mom until 31 December 2032 or ten years after Rachel's decease, whichever is later.

Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549730 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Contemporary,Multicultural,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 22 pages. Jmsgu3 #3531411. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549730). Duration: ca. 7:00, Score: 12 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano: 7 pages. An epic choice for a recital or funeral. Fauré Background: In the first place, Gabriel Fauré 1845 –1924) was a famous French composer, musician, and educator. Furthermore, his musical ideas influenced numerous 20th-century composers. Therefore, historians regard him as one of the leading French composers of his time. Famous Works: Among his most famous compositions, by and large, are the Pavane, Elegie (op. 24), Requiem, Sicilienne, Nocturnes for piano and the songs Après un rêve and Clair de lune. Inasmuch as his early works are well-known and relatively easy to perform, Faure’s music seems to have become gradually more difficult during his later life. In other words, his later works are somewhat esoteric and complex. Early Home Life: Fauré was in fact born into a well-cultivated family. His aptitude for music became particularly clear early on - when he was still a boy. Under these circumstances, his parents sent him to a music institution in Paris. Consequently, the training he received there prepared him for a career as a church organist and choirmaster. Middle Life: It is important to realize that Fauré studied music composition with the French musical mastermind Camille Saint-Saëns, who became his lifelong friend. Fauré eventually graduated from college and earned a living as an organist and educator. During this period, he had, on the whole, little time to compose. He consequently became more successful in his middle age, becoming organist of the Église de la Madeleine and director of the Paris Conservatoire. However, he still needed time on balance for composing. Therefore, given these points, he withdrew to the countryside during the summer to focus on composing. Later Life: Fauré was, in the final analysis, recognized in France as the foremost French composer of his time. The French government held a national musical tribute particularly for him in Paris. The French President notably headed the ceremony. Elsewhere, on the contrary, Fauré's music was slow to become accepted, except of course, in England. Legacy: Historians often describe Fauré's music in general as a transition between the end of Romanticism and the beginning of modernism. As an illustration, when Fauré was born, Chopin was still composing. However, by the time of Fauré's death, jazz and atonal music, in particular, had come to fruition. Fauré, by all means, suffered from increasing deafness in his later years. Some musicologists believe this to be indeed the cause of the esoteric nature of Faure’s final works.

Piano,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069977 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Pop. Full Performance. Duration 184. Boothe Publishing #4633725. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069977). Most of the mistakes I made in life were between the ages of 12-16 years. Somehow I felt that I was smarter than I was. I thought that my friends were smarter than they were. I felt invincible. I made many foolish mistakes during those years. About that time, my family was preparing to move from Oregon to Utah. I remember my mother talking with me and saying that I could start over again. We would be in a new place with new people. No one would know me. I could be the person I truly wanted to be. I thought about this a lot, and when we finally made the move I had decided what kind of person I really wanted to be. In fact, I felt bad for being the wrong kind of person and hurting other people physically and spiritually. I eventually felt so bad about my mistakes that I decided that I would write or call the people I had hurt and apologize to them. Over the period of a year I was able to find, call and apologize to each of them. To my great surprise none of them were still angry with me. I was forgiven. That was a great feeling. This day will be forever what you choose. Once you leave this life you won't be able to return and right any wrongs that you have committed. So when you make a mistake, choose to make it right today so that this day, this day of good choosing will be what will last forever. Never let yourself do something that you know inside is wrong. If your friends are trying to talk you into doing something you know is wrong, don't just sit there and listen to them. Get up and leave the room, or the party, or the situation. Be true. Be the one. Be the son or daughter of God. Do what He would do.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.546809 By Edith Piaf. By Albert Willemetz, Jacques Charles, and Maurice Yvain. Arranged by Alpin Smart (transcription for voice and guitar). 20th Century,Blues,Film/TV,Jazz,Standards. Score. 3 pages. SmartWorks Publications #156743. Published by SmartWorks Publications (A0.546809). The arrangement of this classic jazz/blues/cabaret song is based on the earliest (1937) of (at least?) three recordings by the late, great Billie Holliday, and is closer in feel to the original French version, as sung by cabaret and movie star, Mistinguett. Of course, the most famous version (and most closely associated with Holliday) is the one recorded by Billie in the '50s; but, I like to think that this uptempo version is a truer reflection of this great singer - in happier times - when she loved to sing uptempo jazz (she never regarded herself as a blues singer, although she could sing the blues with the best of them! And, it's important to reflect that her most famous interpretation of this song was made when she was - tragically - at death's door, and blues was better suited to her mood, and a deeply-felt despair, at this time of her all too brief, and, ultimately tragic, life). Besides, the uptempo rhythms, I feel, lend the words more of a 'Brechtian' sense of irony and impact.

Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1449196). Based on the old Scottish ballad Gilderoy, about a handsome highwayman who was eventually betrayed by his mistress. The last, the dreaded hour is come,That bears my love from me:I hear the dead note of the drum,I mark the fatal tree. The bell has toll'd; it shakes my heart; The trumpet speaks thy name:And must my Gilderoy depart,To bear a death of shame! No bosom trembles for thy doom;No mourner wipes a tear; The gallows' foot is all they tomb,The sledge is all thy bier.Oh Gilderoy! I bethought we thenSo soon, so sad to part,When first in Roslin's lovely glenYou triumph'd o'er my heart?Your locks they glitter'd to the sheen,Your hunter garb was trim; And graceful was the ribbon green,That bound your many limb!Ah! little thought I to deploreThose limbs in fetters bound;Or hear, upon the scaffold floor,The midnight hammer sound.Ye cruel, cruel, that combinedThe guiltless to pursue; My Gilderoy was ever kind,He could not injure you!A long adieu! but where shall flyThy widow all forlorn,When ev'ry mean and cruel eyeRegards my wo with scorn?Yes! they will mock thy widow's tears,And hate thine orphan boy;Alas! his infant beauty wearsThe form of Gilderoy. Then will I seek the dreary moundThat wraps thy mouldering clay,And weep and linger on the ground,And sigh my heart away. The pdf file contains score and parts.

Jazz Combo - Digital Download SKU: A0.979638 Composed by Roger Aldridge. 20th Century,Jazz,World. Score and parts. 2 pages. Roger Aldridge #432537. Published by Roger Aldridge (A0.979638). Uxmal At Midnight is a slow tango. The tune is fairly simple however it has a beauty that invokes images and feelings of this magical place. This is one of my minimalist pieces. There are times when I use extended forms and times when I need only a few measures to convey a particular mood. The essential features of this piece are its simplicity, harmonic color, and use of space. The one exception to its simplicity is the shifting time. Like other pieces of mine that use shifting time, this music has a fluid movement -- with time expanding and contracting in ways that feel natural to me. For contrast, I decided to have the solo section entirely in 4/4. My minimalist pieces, and others that have a great amount of freedom, are heavily dependent upon the performers to bring the music to life.
