String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.526387 By Glee Cast. By Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon, and Steve Perry. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Pop,Rock. 25 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #6623631. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.526387). Don't Stop Believin' is truly a song that needs no introduction! Widely recognized as one of the best rock anthems of all time, this song became everyone's favorite upon its release in 1983, when its instantly recognizable synth intro and catchy sing-along choruses helped it hit the top 10 on the Billboard charts. It soon went on to become the best-selling digital track of the 20th century and was named one of Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs Of All Time -- so you really can't go wrong having this one in your gig books! This Cellobat arrangement for your string quartet was originally written for a wedding reception, and with its powerful driving beat, catchy hooks, and soaring melodies, you're sure to get everyone singing along! I have played this song hundreds of times in my career, so I wanted to make my arrangement different -- I got tired of all the extensions and intonation issues in the song's original key of EM, so this version is actually transposed down to CM. My friends have loved playing this chart and prefer it over the usual ones, so I hope you do too! :) Rated intermediate; this will be playable for students and easily sightreadable for professionals. Sarah “Cellobat†Chaffee is an in-demand acoustic & electric cellist and string arranger. Currently, she performs with legendary rock band Aerosmith in their “Deuces Are Wild†residency show, and she is the principal cellist for the Raiders House Band, playing for a crowd of 60,000 at all of the team's home games. She also plays with many other groups including Premiere Wedding Music, Bella Electric Strings, the Femmes Of Rock, and David Perrico’s Pop Strings Orchestra. Sarah has performed and recorded with numerous other artists including Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Halsey, Michael Bublé, Sarah Brightman, and Lady A. She is the exclusive arranger for a number of award-winning wedding and event companies all across the United States, including Premiere Wedding Music, Las Vegas Music Oasis, and Impulse Strings, and she has created custom arrangements for many other ensembles all over the world. Set in the 24th century, when Earth is part of a United Federation of Planets, it follows the adventures of the Starfleet vessel USS Voyager as it attempts to return home to the Alpha Quadrant after being stranded in the Delta Quadrant on the far side of the galaxy. Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Large Ensemble Bouzouki,Flute,Guitar,Harpsichord,Mandolin,Piano,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017680 Composed by Gordon Jackson. Celtic,Classical,Folk,World. Score and parts. 1 pages. Gordon Jackson #6440601. Published by Gordon Jackson (A0.1017680). AppledoreThis a little piece I have – rather pretentiously – described as a pastoral. To be frank, unlike most of my compositions (jigs, reels, hornpipes, strathspeys etc), I had no particular dance form in mind when I wrote it.Appledore is scored for octave mandola (or bouzouki tuned GDAE). It could be played on mandolin, I suppose, but it’s a bit fiddley. Performance tip: try picking this with your finger, rather than with a plectrum; the 2-, 3- and 4-note chords can be played as broken chords, which makes the whole tune rather more interesting (and more of a challenge!).Appledore is a very pretty village in Kent, just north of Romney Marsh. I nearly moved there a few years ago but … didn’t.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025435 Composed by Samuel Warren Hatch. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 9 pages. Samuel Warren Hatch #4764165. Published by Samuel Warren Hatch (A0.1025435). Piano Sonata No. 1 in E Major is the first series of concert piano works by S. Warren Hatch, written during his undergraduate study at Campbell University. Each movement is distinct, in that each of them is composed in a different form, utilizes different key changes and scales, and takes influence from a different period in classical music. While there is no theme that connects them to one another, they are all in the key of E Major and consist mostly of a waltz-like feeling. III. A Reflection of Passing depicts the shifting aspects about death as a person matures. It’s a piece that came from a time of great loss and much grieving. It begins with an innocent, hopeful understanding of death, followed by a major tone shift, where there is an odd utilization of the piano: the performer sings into the piano while holding down the sustain pedal, which vibrates certain overtones, producing what sounds like a distant choir. The piece closes with a triumphant, hopeful melody, borrowed from a song written by S. Warren Hatch when he was in high school.Composer Notes- Be sure to ensure that the stage hands lift the piano lid before the sonata’s start, as the strings will need to be exposed in order for you to sing into the piano’s body during A Reflection of Passing. For that section (page 22) you will need to face and sing directly into the strings while holding down the sustain pedal for the entire page. If you are playing with the sheet music (don’t worry, I’m not shaming you) simply slide the music holder in order to expose the part of the strings that are closest to you. For this sonata, I encourage you to find your own voice in these pieces. Your own interpretation should align with how you most relate to the message/story they’re telling. This could be using the una corda (leftmost) pedal during lighter sections to further differentiate them, or having a heavier rubato to strengthen the impact of certain phrases. As long as you bring these pieces to life, then it has my stamp of approval.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1249440 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 30 pages. Regis Bookshar #842463. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1249440). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No.   4, BMV   4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Brass Quintet (3 Trps, 2 Hrns) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, Christ lag in Todesbanden (also spelled Todes Banden) (Christ lay in death's bonds) is a cantata for Easter written by Johann Sebastian Bach and is his earliest surviving Church Cantata. it was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement is more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, this final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has place the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No.   4.This arrangement is for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 3 Bb Trumpets and 2 French Horns. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (30 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased with what you may find.
