SATB choir and piano, with optional congregation, descant, and handbells (3–5 octaves) - Moderately Easy - Digital Download SKU: MQ.50-6145-E Composed by Mark Shepperd. 12 pages. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #50-6145-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.50-6145-E). English. Psalm 103.A lilting 6/8 setting of Psalm 103, this could be a useful anthem with the optional handbells, but it was designed to involve the congregation. First the choir sings the antiphon and the congregation copies it. The choir sings a verse, and when the antiphon returns it is sung in canon. Then another verse and then the antiphon with descant and a seven measure concluding coda for the choir alone.

Instrumental Duet,Keyboard - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497852 Composed by Jenni Roditi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 17 pages. Jenni Roditi #1074264. Published by Jenni Roditi (A0.1497852). Piano Duo 2 pianos/4 hands. Curve, Between the Octaves points to a fugal past, where lines enter and build in stately flow. It invites lines to intermingle, without assuming they will all arrive somewhere, or at the same time. A certain intensity builds, then scales, both up and down, free themselves from the discussion of the interleaving lines. The chromaticism suggests curving between harmonies, and is nearly always ambivalent. An assertive chordal climax intervenes to shake off the tensions, yet this peels away into further curvatures that twist and twirl, until a final resting point agrees to present itself.  Names of all the movements in the suite Between the Octaves in the right order are Initiate, Surrender, Thread, Curve, Encircle, Ritualise, Ignite. The whole suite follows a long line from movement 1 to movement 7. However, individual pieces are well suited to be played alone too. Piano Duo is ideally two Steinway grands, otherwise, whatever is available. An enjoyment of the tensions and relationships generated between the two instruments: grand-upright, upright-electronic keyboard is to be explored as a positive. Each piece creates its own world in the suite and can be part of smaller subgroups taken from the suite, in any combination, but the order of the pieces needs to be maintained if more than one is played. Here is a taste of the background to the musical world of this 53 minute compositional suite. During a reflective time I read the following: The whole philosophy of dharma art (Buddhist art) is that you don't try to be artistic, but you just approach objects as they are, and the message comes through automatically. (Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, from 'True Perception The Path of Dharma Art.' Shambhala 2008, p.133.) The 'objects as they are' became the 'octaves as they are'. As the pieces were composed the octaves had a centring and clarifying role that allowed other material to circulate around or play against them. They acted as pivots, repetitions, drones, ostinati, pointillist nodes, pedals, melodic features, struts, harmonic turnpikes, breathing spaces, bass lines: musical imperatives. The octaves called the musical shots most of the time. When the music pulled a semitone up or down and away from the octaves (as it did quite often) it was especially telling in the context of the ringing spaces the octaves were creating. I became interested in the subtle dislocation that two pianos could provide. By dislocation I mean a degree of tension between the natural acoustics of the two instruments in the room and the players idiosyncrasies as musicians.  The whole point of this work was to examine the nature of my syntax, grammar, and compositional thinking. The title demanded one thing above all: what notes am I going to use between these octaves?? My choice of notes was derived in most instances from the tempo, pitch, and rhythm of the initial octaves at the beginning of each piece alongside the individual word titles that I set out to explore as musical images. The audio was developed from Sibelius software, via MIDI to Logic samples of a Steinway grand piano.

Small Ensemble B-Flat Bass Clarinet,Vibraphone,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869184 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. With II. 45 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #30961. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869184). Program note. When Stefan Hakenberg and Jocelyn Clark asked me to write a piece for their 2001 Cross Sound concert season in Alaska, I immediately wanted to write a piece with the title, I've Got the Munchies. Music inspired by the visual art is not something new. Mussorgsky composed his infamous Pictures at an Exhibition after viewing a memorial exhibition of paintings and drawings by Victor Alexandrovich Hartmann. Gunther Schuller, my teacher and mentor, composed one of his most memorable orchestral pieces entitled, Six Studies on Themes by Paul Klee. In 1997 I wrote a chamber work inspired by the paintings of Pablo Picasso. The work, Yo Picasso, was scored for Bb clarinet, viola, cello and piano. For the Munchies I used as source material prints and paintings by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. The work, scored for violin, viola, bass clarinet and vibraphone, is in six movements: I. For The Scream (1893), I used multiphonics in the bass clarinet to convey the anguish and desperation so clearly depicted in that infamous work. The multiphonics were provided to me by the bass clarinetist, Henri Bok. II. Edvard Munch was very obsessed by his work, Madonna. He made many versions of it between 1893 and 1902. I made three variations of the Madonna movement. III. Tingel-Tangel (1895) is one of his rare prints in which gloom or misery is not the theme. It depicts a stage full of dancing girls. So, I wrote some dance hall music. IV. I wrote a lullaby for The Sick Child (1896). V. The Dance of Life (1899-1900) is a strange picture. The scene is of a party, but no one seems to be happy. I wrote a demented waltz for the scene. VI. The Sun (1909-1916) is one of Munch's last paintings. It shows the rising sun over a peaceful horizon. NB: This is a transposed score. Numbers in the score next to multiphonics refer to those found in Henri Bok's book, New Techniques for the Bass Clarinet. Numbers without asterisks refer to multiphonic fingerings in Table 6; those with asterisks refer to multiphonic tremolos in Table 7.

Christian,Contest,Festival,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 19 pages. Jeff Davis #1076298. Published by Jeff Davis (A0.1500223). Psalm 100 is a popular text to put to music, especially since it was probably sung at one time. David expresses his praise. thankfulness, and what he believed God's relationship was to His people in this powerful anthem. I tried to convey what I thought David wanted when he wrote this praise song. It moves at a very quick pace and is exciting to perform. Incorporating a full choir, brass quintet, and piano Psalm 100 can be a challenge to keep pace with the tempo. The secret is for the choir not to over-sing, emphasize the strong beats (as noted), and sing with a small mouth. Let it flow smoothly in phrases.       Psalm 100 will be a great praise and worship anthem and fits will for special occassions. The brass parts and score are sold as a seperate packet. Enjoy this lively piece!

Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1478007). House of the Rising Sun is a gritty, melancholic folk song that originated in New Orleans. Some versions say it depicts the downfall of a dissolute gambler; some say it tells of the ruin of many a poor girl. It is a haunting tune set deeply in a minor key that pulls you in with its harmonies. Appropriately, the cello opens with the destitute melody that tugs at your heartstrings. When the 1st violin takes over the melodic line, the cello accompanies with arpeggiated figures. Pizzicato lines and harmonics are included in the cello part, which punctuate the adaptability of the instrument to furnish varied and interesting support to the soulful, lonely tune.

Fat Fred and Sleazy Louise Got together one day; Fat Fred was easy to please, And she was going his way.... This is a reworking of a fun piece I originaally wrote over 30 years ago, and I have to admit that after all this time I can't actually remember why I gave it the title Sleazy Louise. But in the slow, smoochy middle section (not included in the sample recording) you'll hear that there is something a bit disreputable, down-at-heel and nicotine-stained about this lady. Scored for full orchestra, including alto and tenor saxophones, there are optional additional parts for baritone saxophone, Eb horn, treble clef trombone in Bb, easy violin and descant recorder. The violin cues in the clarinet part should only be played if the violins need reinforcing. Sleazy Louise has been performed in several countries, notably when some orchestral players fitted silly words to it and sang it to startled onlookers in Red Square, Moscow!

Arranged symphonic brass quintet.I Vow to Thee, My Country is a British patriotic hymn, created in 1921, when music by Gustav Holst had a poem by Sir Cecil Spring Rice set to it. The music originated as a wordless melody, which Holst later named Thaxted, taken from the Jupiter movement of Holst's 1917 suite The Planets. The tune is used forWorld in Union – the anthem with lyrics by Charlie Skarbek, introduced at the 1991 Rugby World Cup.It has been used for many other Christian Hymns.Notable examples are:O God Beyond All Praising – Michael Perry, 1982.We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God – a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudamus by Stephen P. Lullaby and Waltz of the Doll are two beautiful little pieces for solo piano in the parallel keys of g minor and G Major.  The narrative character of the first one evokes the memories of the fairy tales from the childhood.  It calmly narrates a story without words.  The Waltz suddenly changes the atmosphere.  It plunges into a vivid waltz, playful and joyful.  It creates a strong contrast with the Lullaby.  The pieces could be performed separately, but the effect is complete when playing them in succession as a cycle. They are equally entertaining for kids and adults.   You can listen to the music at: https://open.spotify.com/track/0j3I8bsFz7DRK8ONqslXNc.

Although it is often associated with the Catholic prayer, Schubert's music is actually an adaptation of a work by Walter Scott, a Scottish poet. Schubert composed the melody as part of his piece Ellens Gesang III (Ellen's Song III), which is a series of songs based on Scott's poems.Ave Maria was composed in 1825 and is one of the most popular and beloved pieces in the classical repertoire. The gentle and melancholic melody, combined with the Latin lyrics invoking the Virgin Mary, evokes a sense of serenity and devotion. While it was originally written for voice and piano, the melody has also been adapted for various instruments and choirs.Interestingly, Schubert was unaware that his melody would become widely known as Ave Maria. The original title of the composition is Ellens Gesang III: Hymne an die Jungfrau (Ellen's Song III: Hymn to the Virgin). The fame of Ave Maria came later when different versions of the melody were published and performed with the Latin lyrics.Due to its beauty and emotional appeal, Schubert's Ave Maria has been performed on numerous occasions, from religious ceremonies to concerts and solemn events. The piece continues to move and inspire listeners around the world, highlighting Franz Schubert's genius as a composer.

SILENT GIFTS (Piano/Vocal) A New Christmas SongPopular SongAfter releasing a YouTube video of SILENT GIFTS, the piano solo on November 26, 2009, my good friend and composition student, Don Gillis made this YouTube comment: Beautiful melody. Very appropriate for lyrics with a Christmas theme. When I met Don a few days later, I asked him if he had any ideas for words to the music SILENT GIFTS. He said he would give it a try. Many months passed before we settled on wonderful words that express our intention of the gift of a smile at Christmas. Don's perfect lyrics add a brand new dimension to the song. This Holiday song has a catchy melody with seasonal lyrics. It's ideal for vocalists at concerts who wanted to spread a cheerful and meaningful message for Christmas. As my friend and gifted vocalist, Nancy Jo Hinsen commented after listening to SILENT GIFTS: Robert, this song could easily become a Christmas Classic. Thank you for getting it out there. Lever Harp - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1506364 By Taylor Swift. By Aaron Dessner and Taylor Swift. Arranged by Rachael Acheson. 21st Century,Contemporary,Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Score. 3 pages. TheHarpLibrarian #1081720. Published by TheHarpLibrarian (A0.1506364). This meditative and compact solo instrumental arrangement of Cardigan from Taylor Swift's album Folklore will evoke slow, rainy autumn days wherever you play it, even as people stop in their tracks to listen. It can be played on a harp as small as 26 strings, provided that your harp has levers and is tuned to E-flat. There are, however, thankfully NO lever changes OR page changes mid-piece, as the arrangement makes clever use of repeats and codas so that it can be contained on a convenient, two-page spread. The only potentially challenging aspect is the rhythm, as the complex and easily-recognizable melody occassionally brings out triplets that I've set against quarter notes. If you are comfortable with more complex rhythms, however, you could play this piece with a lower technical proficiency, maybe even somewhere in the range of late-beginner or early intermediate. Again, though, this will depend on the individual harpist and your own strengths. Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. When you download your purchase, you will recieve a pdf that contains both the preview and the full score.

MP Sheet Music #814392. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.1217874). Composition and characteristics  All of Me is a jazz standard whose lyrics and music were written by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons in 1931. It has an ABAC structure and was originally written in the key of B-flat major. The melody combines the music's contradictory possibilities. The downward thrusts of the opening phrases suggest emotional despair, while the final line, with its repeated high notes, sounds almost jubilant. It usually runs in an average time. All of Me first came to public notice when a performance by Belle Baker was broadcast on the radio in 1931. After that a few others also became successful.Frank Sinatra recorded several versions of All of Me. Its 1948 release peaked at No. 21. He also sang it in the film Meet Danny Wilson, which may have helped Johnnie Ray's performance reach No. 12 in the charts that year. Sinatra's use of All of Me brought a non-jazz audience to the song, as did Willie Nelson, whose version was included on his Stardust album and reached No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart in 1978. In 2000, All of Me of Me received the Towering Song Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
