Lullaby and Waltz of the Doll are two beautiful little pieces for solo piano in the parallel keys of g minor and G Major.  The narrative character of the first one evokes the memories of the fairy tales from the childhood.  It calmly narrates a story without words.  The Waltz suddenly changes the atmosphere.  It plunges into a vivid waltz, playful and joyful.  It creates a strong contrast with the Lullaby.  The pieces could be performed separately, but the effect is complete when playing them in succession as a cycle. Johann Christoph Pezel is largely unknown today, save for this short Intrada. he was actually quite influential in the development of instruments musical forms and an accomplished clarino trumpet player as well as a composer of much sacred and secular music.This is a great opener for concerts and works well both inside and outside (and, surprisingly, when socially distanced!)The difficulty of this piece depends almost entirely on how fast you want to take it! It is marked as Allegro, but that was a vague term in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The recording is at 120bpm, but I have heard it played as widely different as 100bpm and 140bpm.Your choice!

As I further listened to the LP I realized that the album used the same song in different genres, format, and keys. You wouldn't know it unless you really listened to the LP. This arrangement, however, is in the original key from her Island Life LP. This song has funk all over it. Grace is a strange character but has a great voice. What made me pick this song is I was searching through youtube to find a song to arrange and I found Grace doing this song live. Again, Grace surprised me. You think female stars today has energy. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement gets more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. Famously used in the 1967 film Elvira Madigan, hence the nickname, the Elvira Madigan concerto, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 was completed soon after his 20th in 1785. There are 5 different arrangements for solo piano, each getting progressively harder and trying not to compromise on sound where possible: Level 1: Just over a minute long, this is the easiest version. Both hands are very simple and are very close together, making it easier to see what all the fingers are doing at the same time. No jumps greater than a fifth and no large chords, making it perfect for smaller hands. Level 2: Two version provided: the first just over a minute long; the second the complete length of the movement, minus the orchestra introduction. Again, the melody has been simplified, though harder than level 1, with an increased coverage of the piano. The accompaniment is either static chords (now triads as standard) or broken arpeggios. It now has jumps in the right hand of just over an octave, with the left hand moving relatively little between chords/arpeggios. Level 3: This version has an optional cut, otherwise is the complete second movement, minus the orchestral introduction. Similar to level 2, only one hand tends to be changing pitches/rhythms at any one time, but the right hand is now almost the same as Mozart’s original (with some ornamentation removed or written out in full). The left hand now has the familiar broken-chord pattern (see opening bars) but in simple rather than compound time. On the whole, the left hand moves relatively little between chords, although there are now some larger jumps when the right hand is static. Level 4: Like level 3, but with the broken chord in compound time throughout. Some of the orchestral accompaniment has been integrated into the music, though simplified. Level 5: The hardest version, more difficult than the original solo piano part. Still no orchestral introduction. Includes more of the orchestral accompaniment than level 4. This, in essence, is a piano transcription of the full orchestration for piano and orchestral. A Winter's Lament was written during our western Canada winter of 2015.  Although it tends to be a hospitable climate, it also tends, at times to be very grey and wet during the winter months.  With that in mind, I wrote this fiddle ballad which records, in  the opening, my thoughts about the bright, warm spring months to come.  The middle section tends to be somewhat melancholic about the greyness of our winter, but it, in turn, is followed by a recap of what we can look forward to when winter actually departs and spring sunshine returns.  This orchestral composition gives the violins, violas and celli and opportunity to express the melody.

He must have got carried away when writing it because he produced 29 variations, some of them very fast and difficult! Here are 12 of them - and it still runs to 208 bars! However, you don't have to play them all or break your fingers! Simply choose a selection that suits you. For example, the theme and variations 1 to 3 make an easy but effective set. Thus, this piece is as easy or difficult as you want to make it, with the theme and easier variations being at lower intermediate level. The arrangement is for Baritone ukulele, but the tab will also work with any ukulele with linear tuning.
