Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774722). Brisbane Ladies, sometimes known as Augathella Station, is an Australian folk song based on an English naval song titled Spanish Ladies. The song probably dates from the time of the War of the First Coalition (1793-96) when the Royal Navy carried supplies to Spain in support of that countryâ€™s resistance to revolutionary France. It then probably gained further popularity during the later Peninsular War when British soldiers were transported to Spain to assist rebels fighting against the French occupation by the forces of Napoleon. Spanish Ladies is a tale of British naval personnel sailing north from Spain and along the English Channel to their home port.Due to its popularity, several variants of Spanish Ladies later appeared in various parts of the world. American whalers sang a version called Yankee Whalermen. In Newfoundland it appeared as Weâ€™ll Rant and Weâ€™ll Roar. Special lyrics were written to the tune for the Bluenose, a famous Canadian sailing ship plying out of Nova Scotia. In Australia, around 1880, another set of lyrics appeared, written by Saul Mendelsohn who was a storekeeper in the small Queensland town of Nanango. Brisbane Ladies tells about the drovers who bring the herds of cattle overland from western Queensland to the markets in Brisbane. There the drovers spend most of their money and time with the ladies before setting out for home in search of the next herd of cattle for market. The places mentioned in Brisbane Ladies are mostly small towns along the stock route that stretched some 750 kilometres north-west of Brisbane towards the small town of Augathella, on the banks of the Warrego River. Augathella, at that time, marked the convergence of three major bullock tracks from Morven, Tambo and Charleville.

Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889417). for the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry,Moon Over The Rising Sun was written very early in the morning while the night fades away giving birth to a sun rise. Conceived for a mixed ensemble of nine to 10 performers. 2 Flutes, Clarinet, Horn, guitar, Harp, Violin, Viola, 1 Timpanist, 1 or 2 Percussionists. The piece has an intime atmosphere very common in chamber music. Very easy to perform and very flexible, it is ideal for schools or when various kinds of mixed ensembles are taking place. With very few effort from the players, it has a large effect on the audience. As I said the piece is very flexible, for exemple the shakuhachi flute can be replaced by a soprano recorder or any other kind of flute with a similar register. A piano could eventually replace the harp. Due to a certain Tutti caracter on the string section, more violins, violas and cellos would easily join the group. One Cello or Double Bass â€žPizzicato could reenforce the left hand on the harp part. Other wise and when possible, it should be performed as written. I also have added some interpretation symbols like fortes and pianos but only as a personal suggestion for an interpretation. Of course the artists must decide how they prefer to perform the piece and should have the last word on their performances. The score was written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This is the first time that this version is published in Sheet Music Plus or anywhere else! This piece was inspired by some aspects of western, eastern, African and american cultures. The list of inspiring human phenomena and achievement within art and music never find an end. There is so much to learn! For now let the World play music. Music is the ultimate Universal language. Imagine we all playing music with each other. The World full of music schools and instruments instead of military camps and weapons. Scored for Clarinet in A and String Trio it reflects the collage of Autumn colors: Green, Yellow, Brown shades of first Autumn; Red, Orange of Autumn at its peak. It followed my English Sonatina for young clarinetists premiered by Alison Eales and Anna de Hair in London in January, 2019, and was premiered in London in October, 2019. This piece reflects the heightened emotions of fiery intensity reflected in the changing of the colors of the leaves in Autumn. Reflected as well is the serene beauty before the Autumn arrives, and the resignation of the eternal cycles of nature. The opening section (Andante) evokes the feeling of nostalgia and assurance of the inevitable cycle of nature. We know the life will go from the tress only to return again next season. We feel the joy of the intense colors of the foliage, and the sadness of the loss of life in winter. This section segues into Green (Adagio cantabile) with pastoral music and quotes of The Water is Wide and I pass all the hours in a shady grove of Pelham Humphrey. This leads into Red (Allegro con fuoco/Presto), followed by Orange (Declamando) as well as absence of color when the leaves all fall. I pass all the hours is a song by Pelham Humphrey with words by Charles II: I pass all the hours in a shady grove â€¦When I see the print of her shape in the greenâ€¦I think thereâ€™s no hell like loving too well, The melody is incorporated because it is the same melodic motif of the Scherzando movement of my English Sonatina for young clarinetists which Alison Eales and Anna de Hair premiered. I discovered it after composing that piece in researching English folk songs to refer to in this piece. It is an ideal segue into the Allegro con fuco/Presto music. The final section (Andante cantabile) is my personal melodic sequence from the rising motif of Over the hills and far away.
