Flute Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.876481 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Joe Procopio. Classical,Romantic Period. Individual part. 13 pages. JoeCopio Music LLC #1910127. Published by JoeCopio Music LLC (A0.876481). THE BEETHOVEN DUETS By Joe Procopio The Beethoven Duets by Joe Procopio is a collection of duets that artist -composer Joe Procopio has adapted and arranged from the 9 Scherzi found in Ludwig van Beethoven’s 9 Symphonies. These duets are the first of their kind in history making them noteworthy, unique and valuable. Each Scherzo is published not only for Flute but also for many other orchestral instruments. They are published individually for each instrument; in a Three Volume Collection with 3 Scherzi in each volume; and in a Complete Collection containing all three volumes. They are also available as a CD. Volume One has Scherzo No.1, Scherzo No. 2 and Scherzo No.3. Volume Two has Scherzo No.4, Scherzo No 5 and Scherzo No.6. Volume Three has Scherzo No.7, Scherzo No.8 and Scherzo No.9. The Complete Collection has all 3 Volumes for each instrument with all 9 Scherzi. What’s more they will soon be published in the Procopio PlayAlong Music Program. This is an exclusive MP3 music audio program personally designed and developed in which Player 1 plays along with a music audio track for Player 2. To be sure, The Beethoven Scherzi Duets for Flute are a marvel of Beethoven’s skill with sections reaching the sublime. It is my deep felt personal belief that these Scherzi will bring you great pleasure and long lasting satisfaction. Joe Procopio AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BEETHOVEN DUETS By Joe Procopio Because of the complexities, range and sonorities inherent in all of the Beethoven Symphonies, it may seem impossible to transcribe any one movement as a duet that is true to the composer. Nevertheless, I believe these duets contain the heart, soul and essence of Beethoven’s melodies, rhythms and expressions; even though these works are tiny when they are compared to the Master’s great musical creations which have no equal. In fact, there is no comparison. However, my sincere hope is that since I have rendered some of Beethoven’s music as duets, his music is now more readily available to all permitting a greater number of musicians and all the people who hear their performances to come to know and love a bit of the world’s most valuable, breathtaking and beautiful music. In truth, Beethoven’s music has stood the test of time. He astonished people in his day whenever he performed his music or had his music played. He still does today. To be sure, his music has enhanced and enriched the lives of many of us for over 200 years. In performing and listening to these Scherzi you will find the whole of each work a marvel of Beethoven’s skill with sections reaching the sublime. Few composers have been able to write down on paper music of such incredible beauty that it reflects the awesome splendor of God’s creation. What comes to mind immediately is Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony No. 6. It has been said, that much of his music mirrors not only the magnificence of God’s creation but also the radiance of God the Creator himself. In any event, this music is simply amazing and awe-inspiring. A joy to listen to and to play. I know and can safely say without any hesitation or reservations that this collection will bring you much enjoyment.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1021847 Composed by Julius Fucik. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 167 pages. Edition Schwalbe #6503111. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1021847). Julius FuÄík (1872 - 1916) was a famous Austrian-Hungarian military bandmaster, who composed more than 400 pieces during his short lifetime. First of all he was known as a king of marches: His Florentiner March and Entry of the Gladiators had worldwide success, but also some of his overtures and waltzes became very popular. Originally titled La rosa di Toscana, this concert march was composed in 1907. This arrangement was commissioned by Wind Philharmonic Tyrol Austria and first performed at this orchestra's premier concert in 1997 in Innsbruck, Austria. It keeps the key of the orchestra version, while most band arrangements transpose a whole tone lower. A live recording of this piece by Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg is included on the CD Schätze aus Alt-Österreich UMR22, Barcode 9120007611700 available at https://naxosdirekt.de/items/schatze-aus-alt-osterreich-558670 and on the CD Märsche UMR63, Barcode 9120007612127 available at https://naxosdirekt.de/items/marsche-557956

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1223252 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 - 1758). Arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 36 pages. Piper Publications #819457. Published by Piper Publications (A0.1223252). This four movement sonata was composed for pairs of oboes and bassoons in about 1740. This edition has been edited and arranged for woodwind quartet for players  who wish to play in the authentic style on modern instruments. All edits are shown using dashed lines or parenthesis ( ). No dynamics are indicated on the original manuscript and, tempting though it was, I have refrained from adding my own. The musical interest is shared equally between the four parts and throughout the whole piece no section is marked to be repeated. A short improvised cadenza by one of the players would have been added in the final bar/measure of the first movement (marked “Adagioâ€). I hope that many players from intermediate to professional standard will enjoy this delightful sonata.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.975916 Composed by Samuel Scheidt. Arranged by Derrick Thom. Lewis. Baroque,Instructional. Score and parts. 19 pages. Derrick Thom. Lewis #6719755. Published by Derrick Thom. Lewis (A0.975916).  DON'T FEAR PRE-BACH MUSIC! The idea of 'Progress' in art is fallacious (within reason).  Scheidt- Variations on Wehe, Windgen, wehe (Blow Little Winds, Blow) [1624, Halle]  This gem of mid-Baroque German meister Sam Scheidt, who (for reference) was 23 yrs. younger than Shakespeare and 98 yrs. than Bach, sounds not-a-bit strange to today's ears. Donald J. (no, not him) Grout says that John Dowland's songs of 1590's sound entirely modern. Well, they do! STING recorded them, if that means anything to you. So then, what have composers been up to for the last 430 years?!  I jest, but this piece is terrific. Be advised, the 'runs' are modal, in that the 7th degree is usually NOT just a semitone under the 8th/1st, but a whole tone. A bit like bagpipe music, in our day.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1363828 Composed by Grant Horsley. Classical,Comedy,Contest,Festival. 42 pages. Grant Horsley #948226. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1363828). The Court Jester is intended as a descriptive piece. The Jester was a member of the household of a nobleman or a monarch employed to entertain guests during royal court. Jesters were also traveling performers who entertained common folk at fairs and town markets, and the discipline continues into the modern day, where jesters perform at historical-themed events. This piece is in ternary form. The outer sections are to represent the general clowning around and playing pranks as a mischievous Jester does. The middle section by contrast is more lyrical to demonstrate a softer side to the personality, however this quickly transcends back to the final section where jokes, pranks and laughs have their way!It should be performed very briskly and lightly to capture the overall feel of the piece. The range in total is two and a half octaves and it is 4.00 minutes in length- Set at Intermediate level, but lots of areas are less so. The whole score is on here for you to assess suitability Price is for the full score and all parts.A great addition to the repertoire.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742468 Composed by Franz Liszt. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 7 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #4412089. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742468). The Consolations are a set of six solo piano works by Franz Liszt. The compositions take the musical style of Nocturnes with each having its own distinctive style. Each Consolation is composed in either the key of E major or D-flat major. E major is a key regularly used by Liszt for religious themes. There exist two versions of the Consolations. The first (S.171a) was composed by Liszt between 1844 and 1849 and published in 1992 by G. Henle Verlag. The second (S.172) was composed between 1849 and 1850 and published in 1850 by Breitkopf & Härtel, containing the familiar Consolation No. 3, Lento placido, in D-flat Major. The third Consolation is in D-flat major and initially marked as Lento placido. It is the most popular of the Consolations and also a favorite encore piece. Its style is similar to the Chopin Nocturnes, in particular, it seems to have been inspired by Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 27 No. 2. The similarity between the two works has been interpreted as a tribute to Chopin who died in 1849, a year before the Consolations were published. This third Consolation is however one of several of Liszt's works that take a style reminiscent of Chopin; some examples include Liszt's Polonaises, Berceuse, Mazurka brillante, and his Ballades. In 1883, years after composing the Consolation, Liszt received a Grand piano from the Steinway Company with a design that included a sostenuto pedal. Liszt began transcribing this Consolation for the new sostenuto pedal and in a letter to Steinway he wrote: In relation to the use of your welcome tone-sustaining pedal I inclose two examples: Danse des Sylphes, by Berlioz, and No. 3 of my Consolations. I have today noted down only the introductory bars of both pieces, with this proviso, that, if you desire it, I shall gladly complete the whole transcription, with exact adaptation of your tone-sustaining pedal. Liszt recommended sparing usage of the sostenuto pedal in the interpretation of this Consolation and opined on the positive effect it would have on the more tranquil passages.
