Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114708 Composed by Adolphe-Charles Adam, Mykola Leontovych, and Peter Wilhousky. Arranged by Yitzak Nance. Christmas,Holiday. Score. 10 pages. Yitzak Nance #716571. Published by Yitzak Nance (A0.1114708). An arrangement of Oh Holy Night with Carol of the Bells embedded as the middle voice. The Carol of the Bells embedded as the middle voice throughout the O Holy Night portion should be a consistently joyous ringing that provides the background and foundation of the majestic O Holy Night melody. The chromatic scales took inspiration from Liszt, wherein he frequently embeds arpeggios or scales of some sort within a surrounding outer melody. The violent nature of the left hand arpeggios with the chromatic scales reminds me of Sturm und Drang, reminiscent of Liszt and also Beethoven, my two favorite composers other than Gershwin. You can sense a little bit of Gershwin even in the dense chords before the free cadenza that leads to the clear and ringing open F Major chord that restarts the carol of the bells at the a tempo (after the cadenza).

Brass Band Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1171832 Composed by William Grant Still. Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Blues,Contest,Festival,Jazz,Multicultural,World. 56 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #772105. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1171832). From the Music of Black Composers Series is this arrangement of the third movement Humor from William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony for a brass choir of 4 B-flat trumpets, 4 horns in F, 3 trombones, euphonium and tuba. Still's Afro-American Symphony was one of the most significant classical orchestra compositions of the early 1930s to incorporate African-American folk influences. Premiered by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at conductor Howard Hanson's notable American Music Festival, it brought the flavor of the Blues and folk music to the symphony. For Still the Blues was a distinct African-American musical contribution he incorporated into a symphonic work. As part of the early 20th Century Harlem Renaissance in New York City, the work was enthusiastically received across the USA and overseas. This brass choir arrangement of the third movement will enliven concerts with its colorful rhythms reminiscent of Gershwin and blues harmonies. Beyond brass ensemble programs feature your band or orchestra brass section on this exciting arrangement which can be paired with the additional first movement (Longing) of Still's Afro-American Symphony arranged for similar brass choir with Charles Decker Music Press.“The Music of Black Composers Series is a welcome and timely addition to the brass repertoire. Voice - Interactive Download SKU: A0.482544 Composed by J. Randolph Hall. This edition: Interactive Download. Classical. Score. 5 pages. Duration 38. Published by J. Randolph Hall (A0.482544). The band director of the Williamson County Community Band will start out on a warm up where he divides the band into three section to do a scale round. This involves Ascending and descending which creates an interesting harmony as well as warming of the chops. This scale is synthetic in nature and is called the Neapolitan Lydian. Imagine the scale is stretched out on a 180° where 90° is the zenith. Once a voice (Vox) has reached that zenith and descends, notice the two angles which are supplementary angles (whose sum equals 180°). The degrees listed above the notes are based on the concept found in https://www.noteflight.com/marketplace/1avadoxR8tmLGLdIp5O4rA/musical-angles The red indicates a major chord. Blue indicates minor. Magenta indicates harmony/consonance while khaki green indicates dissonance. The vertical sum of the degrees in relation to the harmony produced in each measure also has interesting results.

Arranged by Richard Decker. 20th Century,Blues,Classical,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,World. 61 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #699415. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.1095398). This is a brilliant arrangement of the first movement Longing of William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony  for a brass choir of four B-flat trumpets, four horns in F, three trombones, euphonium and tuba. William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony was one of the most significant classical orchestra compositions of the early 1930s to incorporate African-American folk influences. Premiered by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in October 1931 at conductor Howard Hanson's notable American Music Festival, it brought the melancholy flavor of the Blues to the symphony. For William Grant Still the Blues was a distinct African-American musical contribution, separate from the spiritual and popular jazz, and he wanted to incorporate it into a symphonic work based on Western classical symphonic instrumentation and forms. As part of the early 20th Century Harlem Renaissance in New York City, this work was enthusiastically received across the USA and overseas. Pair this brass choir arrangement of the first movement Longing with the third movement Humor also at Charles Decker Music Press to enliven a concert with colorful rhythms, soulful melodies and blues harmonies.
