Both Loch Lomond and Wild Mountain Thyme are beautiful tunes in their own right, and I've tried to preserve that while bringing something new to the table. This piece would be an excellent addition to any quintet's concert programme.The first trumpet part of this version of the piece has an option to play the opening and closing passages on a flugelhorn for a more mellow colour, although this is optional.
