The present arrangement adds a significant piece by a great Romantic composer to the bass clarinet repertoire.Originally for solo cello with orchestra, Élégie fits perfectly into the extended range of the modern bass clarinet (just two low Ds are called for). The solo part is challenging, while the accompaniment parts are easily accessible.
