Book 5, also containing 22 exercises will be coming soon. By practicing the exercises found in this and the remaining 4 books of this series, the student will quickly discover how Czerny must have intended these to be much more than simple exercises. As exercises, Czerny would of course want them to be meticulously practiced, revisited and improved upon, but in doing so, students will find them to be very pleasurable pieces of music to play, even for the enjoyment of an audience. These books contain instructions in Czerny's own words. Translations of Czerny's words are included in the Prefaces or in some cases as footnotes after the exercises, regarding choosing a proper tempo, the proper playing of ornaments, etc., mostly taken from Czerny's Piano School, Opus 500. In this way, Czerny himself becomes the teacher to students in need of one. Carl Czerny (1791-1857) was an Austrian composer, teacher, and pianist of Czech origin whose vast musical production amounted to over a thousand works. His books of studies for the piano are still widely used in piano teaching. He was one of Beethoven's numerous pupils, Franz Liszt was his most famous pupil. Source: Wikipedia. Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818226 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Stephen R Dalrymple. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Contemporary. 88 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #3075427. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818226). Elijah (Part 3) God’s Voice♫ Tone Poem for Violin and Piano by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ transcribed for solo flute, clarinet, trumpet, euphonium/trombone, & cello ♫ music © 2015 Stephen R Dalrymple♫ recording ℗  2023 Stephen R Dalrymple♫ sequenced by the composer ♫ presentation © 2023 Stephen R Dalrymple♫ After the victory of Yahweh over Ba’al at Mount Carmel, Elijah and the people executed the 450 prophets of Ba’al. For the first time in 3 years, Elijah prays for rain. In the following rainstorm, Elijah outruns Ahab’s chariot returning to Samaria. But the next morning it seems as if nothing has happened. Jezebel still has her 400 prophets. She sends a message to Elijah that he will be killed.♫ Elijah is discouraged and defeated. Did Mt Carmel really mean nothing? He runs for the wilderness, complaining to God. He is so disheartened that he asks God to take his life. He makes a pilgrimage to Mt Horeb where Moses received the Law, fasting for 40 days, still complaining. He yearns for God to answer him. As at Mt Carmel, God had demonstrated His power at Sinai with thunderstorm and lightning. Elijah is evidently expecting large dramatic gestures for God to reveal Himself. But now God will teach Elijah that He also acts in ordinary, quiet ways, as will his continued ministry♫ 8 Themes were used to create this movement: 1. Ahab (based on Movement 2, theme 3) 2. Jezebel (based on Movement 2 Theme 4 – Atonal) 3. Elijah's Excuses (based on Movement 2 Theme 2 in Dorian Mode) 4. Elijah's Depression (Based on Movement 2 Theme 2 in Dorian Mode) 5. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (based on Movement 1 Theme 1 in Aeolian Mode) 6. Windstorm (Modified Dorian Mode) 7. Earthquake (tritones and clusters) 8. God's Voice - Polytonal (A minor / G major)♫ The score shows the parts for violin and piano, but individual parts are provided for the other solo instruments. The flute is featured on the audio and YouTube presentations here.♫ Includes 14 score choices: Full Score for violin and piano letter size; Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or trombone), Violin, and Cello solo parts; Full Score for violin and piano - small page format for performing from a 10 inch tablet; the same solo parts for 10 inch tablet. Small Ensemble Guitar,Low Voice,Medium Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576706 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 5 pages. David Warin Solomons #90245. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576706). Schubert's setting of words from Goethe's Wilhelm Meister (with my singing translation in English) transposed to the key of E minor for low voice and guitar. In some places the guitar part is simplified in comparison to the original piano part in order to improve the flowing quality and to make it possible for one person to accompany herself/himself on the guitar. A version for low voice and piano also in E minor, is also available The sound sample is an electronic preview. The three individual songs (Wer sich der Einsamkeit ergibt, Wer nie sein Brot mit Tränen ass, An die Türen) and also all three together (under the title Gesänge des Harfners (songs of the harpist) ) are available on this site The pdf file contains the score and also the separate parts. I will creep up to the doors and stand there quiet and polite goodly hands will give me food and grateful I will leave their sight Every person will seem happy When they see me at their door They will shed a tear which I will never know the reason for. Woodwind Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956663 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Romantic Period. 91 pages. C Melville-Mason #6735339. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956663). This is an arrangement of Mendelssohn’s overture The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave), intended for a medium-sized saxophone orchestra.  It has been categorised as ‘advanced’, as the length and tempo of the work make it quite challenging.  However, provided the main parts are covered by competent players, those with less experience can either double, judiciously omitting any problem sections, or in some cases opt for the appropriate ‘easier’ add-on part. Essential Parts: Part 1: Sopranino Saxophone Part 2: Soprano Saxophone Part 3: Alto Saxophone Part 4: Alto Saxophone Part 5: Alto Saxophone Part 6: Tenor Saxophone Part 7: Tenor Saxophone Part 8: Baritone Saxophone Part 9: Bass Saxophone   Optional Parts:   Easier Alto Saxophone Easier Tenor Saxophone Contrabass Saxophone   Mendelssohn visited Scotland in 1829 and, after a tour of the Highlands, travelled by steamer from Fort William to Oban and thence to the Hebridean island of Mull.  From there, he made the short boat trip to the small island of Staffa, to visit Fingal’s Cave – a sea cave formed of hexagonal basalt columns, with a highly intriguing natural acoustic. The Hebrides overture was inspired by this segment of Mendelssohn’s Scottish travels.  The work is an early example of a tone poem: a musical representation of the scenery, wind and weather of the Scottish Hebridean islands, reflecting their sudden and infinite changeability. After some revisions, the overture received its first performance in May 1832 and remains a favourite with audiences to this day.  It has been central in establishing – and sustaining – the popularity of Fingal’s Cave as a tourist destination. This is an adaptation of an arrangement that was originally created for a woodwind course held on another Scottish island – Skye, which is the largest and most northerly of the Inner Hebrides.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1373611 Composed by Adoniram J. Gordon, Frederick H. Lehman, Traditional, and William B. Bradbury. Arranged by Amanda Tero. Christian,Holiday,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 29 pages. Amanda Tero #957915. Published by Amanda Tero (A0.1373611). Do you need Valentine's Hymns for church services in February? These 5 hymns cover God's love to us, Jesus's love to us, and our love to Him.Written in the key of C, these 5 early intermediate piano solos have simple patterns that are easy for the intermediate pianist to sightread. These early intermediate hymn solos are equivalent to most Level 2 and 3 curricula.Ideal for church services (especially in February), Valentine’s banquets, conferences, recitals, and more!Arranged to be simple yet tasteful in style. Here is all the information you’ll need to decide if this collection of early intermediate sheet music is the level you’re looking for:·         All in the Key of C (What Wondrous Love is This? is in A Dorian—no accidentals in key signature)·         No key changes·         Basic format: intro, verse/chorus, interlude, verse/chorus, ending·         2 verses each·         Single-note melody in the right hand (brief LH melody in The Love of God)·         Mostly broken 5ths and triads in the left hand·         Repetitive patterns for easy learning·         Similar chords between verses·         Note reading up to 2 ledger lines·         Rhythm not faster than eighth notes·         Just 1 page turn each (exception: Oh, How I Love Jesus has 2) Jesus Loves Me is an old favorite, often seen as a “children’s song.†However, the words to this hymn of love are just as important for adults as for children. While a simple arrangement, this is not a childish sounding arrangement.·         Features an “echo†melody written 8va·         Left hand in treble clef for portions·         Ends with hand crossing My Jesus, I Love Thee begins unexpectedly with colorful chords that finally release tension into a calm first verse. There are slight jazz textures in this arrangement but also classical elements with scales and Alberti bass.·         Rich chord textures (just a hint of jazz/dissonance)·         Accidentals·         Right hand scales (ascending & descending) Oh, How I Love Jesus is a cheerful arrangement with just a hint of cinematic-style melodies. The chords are very similar between verse 1 and 2 in this arrangement, making it especially easy for the pianist to learn.·         6/8 meter·         Cinematic elements·         Chords repeat: open 5ths and 6ths or filled in triads/chords The Love of God starts with left hand melody, making this different from all the other arrangements. The goal is for this to be a seamless melody transition between the hands while the non-melody hand supports at a slightly lower volume.·         Left hand melody for part·         Right hand chords for part·         Left hand repeats in different octaves for broader sound What Wondrous Love is This? is a haunting conclusion to the collection. It is predominantly arranged with open 5ths in the left hand and repeating patterns in the right hand. It ends with slow, four-note chords that are very hymn-like.·         A Dorian mode·         Very easy left hand (repeating open 5ths)·         Sounds harder than it really is.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797751 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 15 pages. Derek Hasted #4793235. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797751). COWKEEPER'S TUNE (TV's Woodentops theme) - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This arrangement is taken from a String Nonet version (2 first violins, 2 second violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos and 1 double bass). It makes a great quartet for a guitar ensemble of modest ability, and those with more experience will be able to generate a wonderful soundscape with a rich clear overall sound. The pitch range of the original has to be compressed onto the pitch range of a guitar ensemble and I’ve achieved this by raising the lower voices, rather than altering the top voice, where the piece calls for a lighter texture. The dynamics of the original are retained in my arrangement, but the fingering is left to the players... Playing the lower parts up the neck will give a rich, cello-like, sound, but a first position performance will be robust and will use many familiar guitar shapes. This is a charming, gentle, pastoral piece and the sweet sound of the guitar suits it well. Those UK players of a certain age might just remember that this music introduced The Woodentops, a children’s string-puppet TV series which ran in black and white from 1955 till 1957, and was regularly repeated until 1973.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

John Bull was an English composer, organist, virginalist, and organ builder who lived from 1562/63 to 1628. He was educated as a chorister of the Chapel Royal in London and later became a Doctor of Music at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Bull was one of the most famous composers of keyboard music of the early 17th century, and most of his compositions were written for the virginal, a keyboard instrument popular in the Renaissance period. He was known for his outstanding technical ability and keyboard virtuosity, and his music is distinguished by unfailing resourcefulness in devising new musical ideas. Bull's reputation rests on his extensive compositions for virginals and organ, some 150 extant pieces published in Musica Britannica. He was also one of the contributors to Parthenia, a collection of keyboard music published in 1611. Bull wrote an anthem, God the Father, God the Son, for the 1613 wedding of the princess and the Elector Palatine, in addition to his keyboard compositions, verse anthems, canons, and other works. Bull's music ranked among the foremost composers along with Byrd, Gibbons, and Tomkins.John Bull had several contemporaries who were also prominent composers during the Renaissance period. Gibbons' compositions are characterized by their expressive harmonies and intricate counterpoint.Thomas Tomkins: Tomkins was another English composer who was active during the same time as John Bull. Tomkins' compositions are notable for their rich harmonies and expressive melodies.Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck: Sweelinck was a Dutch composer and organist who was highly regarded during the Renaissance period. He was known for his keyboard music, particularly his variations and fantasias. Sweelinck's compositions had a significant influence on Bull and other composers of the time. These composers, along with John Bull, were influential figures in the development of Renaissance music and significantly contributed to the repertoire of keyboard and choral music during that era.
