It provides material for the first several weeks of lessons.The exercises and pieces are designed so that they can be folded or cut out and placed behind the black keys at the middle of the keyboard. The notes of the tablature fit and match the locations of the keys. Students can follow the notes which appear exactly above the keys that they identify. Students locate both the black keys and white keys with equal ease. Have you ever had a dog that was a special, loyal friend? Well, Buster was a black and white pomeranian that will always have a special spot in my family's hearts. He loved to play football with the kids, and he loved to take walks with me. After we had to put him to sleep, I woke up around 1:00 a.m. one morning and wrote this song in memory of Buster. Buster's Walk is a cheerful little piece in 3/4 time, full of rich chords and a haunting melody. It is in the key of F Major, includes some grace notes, arpeggiated chords, lots of helpful fingering, and resembles music from the early 1900's. (I always picture Charlie Chaplin). This makes a great recital piece, or part of your Assisted Living entertainment repertoire. Every time I play Buster's Walk, I can still see him walking beside me with that perky, little smiling face; I hope you can picture him, too.
