Instrumental Duet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1139614 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Traditional,Wedding. 45 pages. Jmsgu3 #739883. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1139614). Score: 24 pages. Duration: ca. 21:10. Composed in Salzburg, 1783 I. Adagio - Allegro II. Andante cantabile III. Thema: Andante grazioso & 6 Variations - Allegro. The Duo K. 424 was written by Mozart in the summer of 1783 to complete Michael Haydn's set of six for Archbishop Colloredo. Michael Haydn was a close friend of Mozart and a composer who was admired by him. When Mozart heard of Michael Haydn's plight, he quickly wrote the two delinquent duos and delivered them to the Archbishop under Haydn's name. The set of six was presented as all Haydn's, and Colloredo could not detect in them Mozart's obvious workmanship. The piece was carefully designed to complete the set by choosing two keys not already used by Haydn. Among the devices Mozart uses to camouflage his authorship are the chirping grace notes and trills in the opening movement of K. 424. The Duo K. 424 is an example of Mozart's ability to write music in the style of his contemporaries while still maintaining his own unique voice.

RayThompsonMusic #772984. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1172748). Arranged wind quintetIncludes natural Horn in Bb basso (Alt Hn in F provided)The Six Viennese Sonatinas were not originally composed by Mozart for the piano. They are a contemporary arrangement of selected movements from the Five Wind Divertimentos for 3 basset horns, K. 439b which Mozart wrote in 1783.The Divertimentos are notable for their conciseness of form and their melodic richness. (Each divertimento has 5 movements.)They therefore make an excellent introduction to Mozart's piano music, even though they are not completely typical of Mozart's piano writing. We do not know for certain who made the arrangement, but Alexander Weinmann has shown that it was probably Ferdinand Kauer. The order of movements is not the same as in the original; moreover, some of the Trios have been exchanged and recapitulations have been shortened in some instances. This is my arrangement for wind quintet of Viennese Sonatina No.4 in Bb The original 3 parts have been reallocated around the quintet, with some octave and harmony additions.I have added an original natural horn part for a more authentic Mozart sound.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.958455 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Joseph Dillon Ford. 20th Century. Score. 2 pages. David Warin Solomons2 #3689621. Published by David Warin Solomons2 (A0.958455). The Cadenza to the First Movement of W. A. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor, K. 491, was composed in 1975 for Dillon Ford's personal use as soloist in performances at Florida International University. Since no Mozart cadenza survives for this, perhaps the most romantic of all the Mozart concertos, he consciously set out to create his own cadenza in a kind of hybrid style that is as much redolent of the Viennese Ländler as it is of the Brahms waltzes. Nor did he hesitate to introduce such stylistically advanced features as the concluding double trills, which are virtually unknown in Mozart's keyboard compositions. He believes the result is a concise but effective classico-romantic cadenza in quasi-improvisatory style well suited to its original purpose. He offers it to the pianist who is seeking musically engaging material that has as yet been little heard during public performances of what is perhaps Mozart's greatest contribution to the piano concerto genre.

Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Traditional,Wedding. 283 pages. Jmsgu3 #752169. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1151962). A monument of music.Mozart's Five Divertimenti K. Anh. 229 are a set of five chamber pieces composed in 1772. The five pieces, K.Anh.227–231, were written for two oboes, two horns, and two bassoons, and were likely intended for a private performance. The five pieces, which are written in the traditional divertimento style, are light-hearted and filled with melodic themes and charming modulations. Each of the pieces is unique, but they are all unified by their harmonic language and Mozart's signature style. The Divertimenti K. Anh. 229 offers a glimpse into the early compositional style of Mozart, showing a masterful understanding of classical forms and instrumentation. Each of the five pieces are charming, witty, and filled with joyful melodies. While the pieces are light-hearted and intended for a small ensemble, they still showcase Mozart's remarkable skill and compositional genius. The Divertimenti K. Anh. 229 remain some of Mozart's most beloved works and are a delightful listen for any chamber music enthusiast.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1109895 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical,Religious,Sacred. 8 pages. RayThompsonMusic #712266. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1109895). Arranged standard brass quintet. A beautiful piece of music. It suits the brass quintet. The Lacrimosa (Latin for weeping/tearful), also a name that derives from Our Lady of Sorrows, a title given to The Virgin Mary, is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. Its text comes from the Latin 18th and 19th stanzas of the sequence. Lacrimosa dies illa Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus: Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Amen. Full of tears will be that day When from the ashes shall arise The guilty man to be judged; Therefore spare him, O God, Merciful Lord Jesus, Grant them eternal rest. Amen. The piece begins piano on a rocking rhythm in 12/8, intercut with quarter rests, which will be reprised after two bars, on Lacrimosa dies illa (This tearful day). Then follows a diatonic progression, in disjointed eighth-notes on the text resurget (will be reborn), then legato and chromatic on a powerful crescendo. The music is forte by bar 8, at which point Mozart's contribution to the movement is interrupted by his death. Süssmayr brings the music to a reference of the Introit and ends on an Amen cadence. Discovery of a fragmentary Amen fugue in Mozart's hand has led to speculation that it may have been intended for the Requiem. Indeed, many modern completions (such as Levin's) complete Mozart's fragment. Some sections of this movement are quoted in the Requiem mass of Franz von Suppé, who was a great admirer of Mozart. Ray Robinson, the music scholar and president (from 1969 to 1987) of the Westminster Choir College, suggests that Süssmayr used materials from Credo of one of Mozart's earlier masses, Mass in C major, K. 220 Sparrow in completing this movement.

Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Standards,Wedding. 53 pages. Jmsgu3 #809797. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1212300). Duration: ca. 24:20Mozart's Sonata K. 331, is a significant piece in music history. Composed between 1781 and 1783, the sonata is known for its third movement, the Alla Turca, which has become one of Mozart's most famous works. The sonata is also notable for its use of variations in the first movement, a technique that Mozart would later use in his famous Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star variations. The sonata's influence can be seen in the works of later composers, such as Beethoven and Chopin, who were inspired by Mozart's use of form and structure. Mozart's K. 331 remains a beloved and important piece in the classical music canon, showcasing the composer's genius and innovation.

RayThompsonMusic #512629. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553272). This is the best known of Mozart’s Masonic compositions . The Maurerische Trauermusik, K. 477 (479a) is scored originally for two violins, two violas, clarinet, basset horn, two oboes, two horns, and bass. Mozart later added parts for two additional basset horns and bassoon, resulting in an instrumentation absolutely unique in Mozart’s vast output. I have given the solo lines to the clarinet and oboe: this piece suits the classical wind octet. The 2 horn parts in Eb and C basso remain relatively unchanged to Mozart's.

ROBERT DEBBAUT #6342173. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.939402). This overture would make a lively concert opener for a group with smaller forces, or work just as well with a large string section.  In the opera itself (Il re pastore, The Shepherd King; 1775), Mozart's overture  segues directly into the opening scene of Act One.  Other Mozart overtures that segue thusly have been arranged with concert endings, such as The Abduction from the Seraglio (arr. Anton Andre) and Idomeneo, King of Crete (arr. Carl Reinecke).  Most of the music contained in this arrangement is Mozart's, including the existing material from the original overture, developmental material of that music, and a segment extracted from the opera's final section.  The work is about six minutes in length and is scored for one flute, two oboes, two bassoons, two horns in F, two trumpets in C, timpani, and string orchestra.  A NotePerformer3 audio file is available from the arranger, as are parts in pdf format. If you purchase, please write to the arranger at debbaut@gmail.com, subject Mozart and I will send you a copy of the parts for $30 via Venmo or personal check.
