The darkness of this vision is well-captured by the minor mode and relentless 4/4 rhythm of the original tune. These features are amplified in this prelude and fugue, particularly the inherently chromatic nature of the minor mode. Audiences will love the bright, colorful sound and the constant feeling of motion and drive, and the overall sound is busy and delightful.It's not at all technically difficult and would suit a school ensemble or an adult ensemble of medium ability. The parts have no page turns and they synchronize easily.Although there are no dynamics on the piece, you will find that the four verses gradually build, with deeper bass and extra countermelodies coming in, as well as a surprise silence. These details will help you find dynamics that work for your particular ensemble. Guitar 2 requires a Capo at the 7th fret, and it's notated with the notes you'd play (not the pitch that comes out).Guitar 4 has the sixth string tuned down to D for a big deep sound.

My goal was to retain as much of the pianistic elements and interweaving lines as possible while arranging it to give it cellistic playableness. The pleasingness of the Lied Ohne Worte is so compelling that anyone of the same mind will find a way to play my Cello 2 part. Making an arrangement for Cello Duet was not part of my plan until I happened to desire a harmony to play along with. What I noticed was something that nearly arranged itself. I set to work immediately and several revisions later, I am pleased to say there is now a version of this amazing Song Without Words for two cellos.
