Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1508715 Composed by Ryan Brechmacher. 21st Century,Classical,Instructional,New Age. Score. 31 pages. Ryan Brechmacher #1083982. Published by Ryan Brechmacher (A0.1508715). These pieces were originally written as TikTok challenges—the idea was I was supposed to compose a theme based on a motive from either the Classical or sometimes even pop/rock music realm in just fifteen minutes. After a few of these videos, I started writing at an incredible speed, sometimes writing more than two or three pieces per day. These pieces have often ended up vastly different than their original material, which makes them even more fun—it might be a challenge to figure out on which pieces these compositions are based. I’ve decided to publish these pieces so you could enjoy playing them. Each of them is in their “urtext” edition (no dynamics or editorial markings, aside from tempi), so feel free to add your own flair.

Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0014297_TX2 2nd B-flat Tenor Saxophone. Composed by Benny Carter. Instructional. Part. 4 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0014297_TX2. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0014297_TX2). UPC: 038081331973.Symphony In Riffs is Benny Carter's most famous piece. Originally composed and arranged in the 1930's for 4 reeds and 5 brass, Benny re-scored this version for a larger band some 50 years later. Benny was known for his idiomatic saxophone writing and this chart is a great example of that. Just when you think that the soli chorus at D is as good as his saxophone writing can get, he modulates and tops it with the brilliant new section at I. This is a transitional piece between the pre-swing of the 1920s and the mid-1930s swing.

Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412962 By Damien Gauci. By Damien Gauci. Contemporary,New Age. Full Performance. Duration 214. Damien Gauci #994969. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1412962). This piece definitely has a more sinister feel to it compared to the other pieces from the album, I think that’s just how it started out when I was writing this piece - the title came later. When writing this piece, I wanted to write something mysterious with more of a focus on the ambient side of things rather than the melody. Of course, this piece still has a melody but I don’t think that is the focus of this piece, it’s all about the mood and atmosphere. The beginning of the piece does have a melodic motif which is used throughout the composition and there is also the left hand ostinato that is given to the right hand toward the end of the piece too. Harmonically, this piece doesn’t stick to functional harmony which is another reason why this piece tends to feel more mysterious and ambient.

French Horn Duet Horn - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552253 Composed by Carl Stamitz. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Classical,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. Score. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #6306433. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552253). I. Andante II. Menuetto III. Allegro The significance of Stamitz Duets Op. 27 lies in their contribution to the duet repertoire for two violins (or two flutes). Composed by Carl Stamitz, a prominent figure of this era, the duets were published in 1780. These duets are well-regarded for their musicality and are popular choices for duet performances and educational purposes. They are available in sheet music and have been performed in concerts and recordings, reflecting their enduring appeal and importance in the classical music domain. The duets are known for their melodic and expressive qualities, making them valuable for developing ensemble playing and musical interpretation skills. They are also appreciated for their historical significance in the context of classical music composition and the repertoire for violin or flute duets. Carl Stamitz, born in 1745 and passing away in 1801, was a significant figure in music history, particularly in the classical period. He was one of the most prolific Mannheim orchestral composers, known for writing numerous symphonies, concertos for various instruments, and other instrumental works. Stamitz's influence on the evolution of the Classical sonata form by introducing contrasting themes within a single movement is also noteworthy. He was a prominent representative of the second generation of the Mannheim School, and his contributions to the duet repertoire for two violins or two flutes are highly regarded for their musicality and historical significance. Despite not being as widely recognized as some of his contemporaries, his work has left a lasting impact on the classical music domain.Carl Stamitz significantly contributed to the Mannheim School of Music as the most prominent representative of its second generation. He was the eldest son of Johann Stamitz, a violinist and composer considered the Mannheim School's founder. Carl Stamitz's contribution to the school included his role as a prolific orchestral composer, writing numerous symphonies, concertos for various instruments, and other instrumental works. His work, along with other members of the Mannheim School, helped solidify the Classical symphony and its dynamic contrasts, impacting the evolution of the classical music period. Carl Stamitz's choice of the viola as his favorite instrument and his compositions for the viola also contributed to the school's legacy.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1014883 Composed by Damien Gauci. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Damien Gauci #4783383. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1014883). This piece was inspired by Chopin's pieces 'Nocturne in C# Minor' and Prelude Op. 28, No. 4. The solemn, singing melody in the right hand is meant to be played as marked, 'cantabile'. This, along with the left hand slow moving arpeggios with some harmonious and dissonant parts creates a reflective, peaceful mood. Whilst writing this piece I wanted to focus on writing a piece in binary form, as the second half of the piece shows. I still tried to keep the melodic melody in the right hand, but the left changes to a waltz like accompaniment. If I were to write this piece again, I may have explored the first part for much longer and made a nice transition into the second part. As for now, this is my last piece which I have composed at an earlier time. I am now going to start working on some new fresh pieces, focusing on certain aspects of music. Thanks again, Damien.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938424 Composed by Colin Bayliss. 20th Century. Score and parts. 46 pages. Colin Bayliss #11309. Published by Colin Bayliss (A0.938424). The work was completed on February 2nd 1970 and is the first piece to be retained by the composer after he had destroyed all his earlier compositions. The parts are available as a separate download. The following is taken from the catalogue of the composer's works:- The photocopy of the MS is marked String Quartet No. 1, but is not regarded by the composer as part of his mature string quartet writing. The MS itself was lost in a fire at the home of Col. Robert Tong, formerly Registrar of Queen Mary College, University of London. A typesetting was made in November 2000 as the photocopy had faded so badly. The composer's sketch books suggest that the movements were written in the order 3,2,4,1. 1. Allegro 2. Scherzo (Allegro energico) Trio I - tempo di menuetto Trio II - no tempo indicated - [andante] 3. Andante con moto 4. Allegro ma non troppo Composer's note:- As the above suggests, I originally had no intention of publishing this early piece. The recording by the Lochrian String Quartet of the six numbered quartets, however , together with sleeve notes admitting the existence of this work, prompted me into revising my opinion and allowing its publication, so that anyone wishing to study this first effort may do so. It shows certain traits that I was to develop in the six quartets and others that I was to discard, and therefore is of musicological interest. It also has a few good, albeit imitative, tunes! Duration: Approx. 25 mins. COLIN BAYLISS was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire in 1948. His life-long love of music led him to compose from an early age and he now has a catalogue of over a hundred works including two operas, four symphonies, six string quartets and many other pieces for most instrumental and chamber groupings, over seventy of them published. He is a member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, the North West Composers' Association and the Performing Rights Society. As well as writing music himself, he has also compiled annotated catalogues of the works of Anthony Hedges and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. CDs of his piano music played by David Martin and complete organ music played by Ronald Frost are available on the New Century Classics label. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0016189_TX1). UPC: 038081331959.Even when Benny Carter wasn't writing for Count Basie, many of his charts from the 1950's onward sound like they could have been written for Basie. Maybe this is because so many of Basie's arrangers (Sammy Nestico, Quincy Jones, Billy Byers and Neal Hefti) were influenced by Carter. The writing is straightforward, with simple harmonies, swinging rhythms and very clear counterpoint. Again And Again has much of the style of an alto feature that Quincy Jones might have written for Marshall Royal. Although Carter gives the pianist two little solo spots, the focus is on the lead alto. The backgrounds are spare and dry, so it is incumbent upon the soloist to supply the warmth and personality to tell this gentle story. Vibrato, scoops, bends, turns, and other devices can be used to bring this simple line to life.

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414027 Composed by Martin Lass. Chamber,Children,Classical,Instructional. 43 pages. MA Lass & I Lass #995794. Published by MA Lass & I Lass (A0.1414027). Martin Lass is an Australian violinist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He is most well known for his performance career as a classical crossover and popular music artist with 11 CD recordings, numerous awards and accolades, and performances with the likes of Luciano Pavorotti, Julio Iglesias, and Joan Baez. Before this, he was a founding member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, as well as playing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. When he is not spending time with his wife of 46 years, his three middle-aged children, and his two grandchildren, he spends his time and energy teaching, writing, arranging, and performing.Five Australian Scenes for String Orchestra was conceived with specific iconic Australian places in mind, as well as with the intention to convey the experience of these places programmatically through the music. From this point of view, the pieces could have just as successfully been called Australian Days. As such, each piece represents a kind of day journey in microcosm, like a travel diary set to music. The points of interest in each day are indicated sequentially in the music. The pieces were written with the intermediate student string orchestra in mind. As such, they explore a wide variety of string techniques, dynamic and tonal contrasts, styles, and moods. Although the writing never takes a student out of first position barring a few cello passages, and the fingering avoids the use of cello forward extensions and minimises high 3s for the upper strings, the technical, rhythmic, ensemble, and intonational challenges put these pieces at the intermediate level. There are ossias and other alternatives for greater challenge or greater ease. Fingering has been offered where appropriate. And bowing has been meticulously indicated. This particular piece, “A Day at the Beach,†is set in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in QLD. On a perfect summer day, one heads for the beach where fun and games, swimming, surfing, sun-baking, a picnic, and more games are the order of the day before heading home, full of sand, sun, food, and tired satisfaction.

Voice and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8492-19E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. Instrument part. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8492-19E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8492-19E). French.Gouvy was known for writing some of the most beautiful melodies of the Romantic period. His style is a combination of German forms and an early French romantic harmonic structure. His writing for the piano in the songs is totally unified in mood and description with the voice, just as the piano is in Schubert’s songs. The equal partnership of the vocal line and piano interact closely to bring the poetry vividly into life with unimaginable artistic heights and unbridled passion. This volume includes Gouvy songs set to 18 poems of Philippe Desportes (1546–1606), and 18 poems of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872). The elements of Romantic love poetry, such as enchanting love and its pain, and the personifying of nature, are fluently described with a great sensitivity in both voice and piano. Gouvy’s melody stir up the imagination because of his special treatment of words through a distinguishable and melodious vocal line, and his story telling and poetic treatment and development of the piano accompaniment. His compositional artistry places him in the upper echelons of art-song composers. One should note that Gouvy had a special fondness for the 16th Century poetry of La Pléiade (a group of Renaissance French poets, led by Pièrre de Ronsard (1524–1585). Desportes was truly the heir to Ronsard; however his work, when compared to that of Ronsard, is filled with greater abstraction and greater fluidity. Desportes seems to avoid any of the passionate anger that is occasionally characteristic of La Pléiade. This may be an indication that Desportes lived in a less distressed time. It also seems necessary to point out that he learned much in his early career by copying and studying the earlier works of La Pléiade. This has led some scholars to label him as a plagiarist, but it is important to realize that all the members of La Pléiade copied from each other when they wished to learn something new, and truly understand the style of the other poets in the group. Gouvy’s only choice of poems from his contemporaries, were the works of Moritz Hartmann (1821–1872), a good friend of Gouvy’s. Much of his poetry was strongly political in support of freedom of the individual. He traveled to Leipzig in 1845, but when the authorities discovered a volume of patriotic poems entitled Kelch und Schwert (Chalice and Sword), he fled to Belgium and France. It is at this time that he possibly met Théodore Gouvy. Eighteen poems of Hartmann were translated from German to French by the French poet, Adolph Larmande, of whom very little is known. Pierre Toussaint Adolphe Larmande seems to have been a rather obscure poet and musician. We know that he taught music theory at the Paris Conservatory at the same time Anton Reicha and Michele Carafa were on the faculty. We also know that in 1847 he married an English woman by the name of Marie Caroline Bradley. There are random documents, such as a Certificate of Arrival in London, England, in 1837, but there are no birth and death dates given, and that includes his obituary notice.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1292494 By Brian Golden. By Brian Golden. Arranged by Brian Golden. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Brian Golden #883011. Published by Brian Golden (A0.1292494). Prelude 22 in B Minor Phrygian from 24 Preludes for the Piano in Major and Minor Modes by composer Brian Golden   The creative concept in writing these preludes is to provide a link to past preludes written for the keyboard, and in particular to the works of J.S. Bach and Frederic Chopin, whose works stand as essential repertoire for any student of the piano.  Using Bach’s and Chopin’s examples, my goal was to compose in all twenty-four keys, yet offer my own variation on the progression of key signatures – Bach’s being a pattern of major to parallel minor progressing chromatically through all keys, and Chopin’s a pattern of major to relative minor keys progressing clockwise through the circle of fifths.  In order to expand my harmonic and melodic possibilities, I have included the modal keys rather than only the major and harmonic minor keys, and have chosen to work counterclockwise through the circle of fifths, which is a more natural harmonic progression.  Therefore, all major preludes resolve from one to another V-I, as well as do all the minor preludes.    While there are seven modal scales, I decided to leave out the locrian modes for the following reasons.  First, due to the diminished fifth, the locrian mode cannot be thought of as either major nor minor.  Second, the locrian mode did not have a relative key to pair with, since there were no other keys with the identical characteristic notes.    In creating the key architecture, I determined that there was only one solution to pairing major and relative minor scales based on a shared parent key and characteristic note - ionian/aolian, mixolydian/phrygian and lydian/dorian.  This specific order of modal scales is the only order that would enable composing in all twelve key signatures.  Finally, the inspiration for each prelude came from playing through several other preludes in the same keys - mostly by Bach and Chopin - and letting their themes and styles influence me in the writing of my own.

Published by Ciro Hernández (A0.1404524). Winner of the Agustin Ramos national competition for chamber music works. Written for string trio and flute. This work with structure A - B and with small coda to A is written in contemporary language but with modern harmony and very close to jazz. There is a description in the score about the meaning of La Puerta Falsa. The violin, viola and cello parts are not only accompanists but also protagonists. It is really a chamber work in which all four players must work together. The extended techniques are not very complicated nor are they abused, trying to have a balance between traditional writing in the composition and contemporary writing.
